Hi guys, im new to dakkadakka, butive been in the hobby for a while. I'm just starting an ultramarine scout army supported by imperial fist terminators for some combat punch. Here is my first sniper wielding scout. I will have an update with a terminator body soon.

I thin black line at the top of the eye which 'connects' with the pupil is very helpful in avoiding the "OMG" look on models...

Thanks guys, Alpherius i'll give that a go and post up the results later. This is my first Imperial Fist terminator, body only. I've almost finished the arms and will post those up later.

Welcome to dak dak¡ Those look nicely painted. BTW if you are worried about the quality of the pics just put a blank sheet of printer paper behind your models so that way the camera focuses on the model and nothing else. Also a good compact flourescent bulb shining directly above will help.

For the scout armor i would blend a bit more with a bit darker colours just because scout prob's dont want to be caught with the trousers down when there trying to snipe someone.

I don't think you can see it in these pictures but i did try to get the effect on the lenses right, but i'm not sure whether it worked.

Nice take on the imperial fists colour scheme, nice and dark, personally mine are bright yellow, cause i like the audacity of wearing yellow armour into combat, but its nice to see a different take work well

Looks nice! I'll second Alpharius' comment about the eyes, but I'd expect a certain amount of "OMG, what in the name of the Emprah is that three-story tall monstrosity heading in my direction?!??!" out of my scouts. They are, after all, only wearing carapace armor.

That being said, Reaper miniatures has a great tutorial on their website titled "Bette Davis Eyes" that's easy to follow and produces excellent results. Check it out!

Oh, I love that yellow... looks like a varnish dipping. Care to share your method with a fellow son of Dorn?

Yeh, ages ago i tried to do a brighter yellow but it failed, so i tried a more oily on campaign look. Gavin its Iyanden Darksun, heavily washed with badab black and highlighted with Iyanden Darksun, no varnish or anything i think that might be the camera... And thanks for the tutorial, i've had a look and i'll give it a go. Unfortunately no more painting because i've been trying to convert some Tanith, its not going too well but ill post them later.

The second set of pictures of the Termie look the best. I think that the scout wants to kill us all... Everybody get down!

Welcome! The scout looks good, but his eyes do look a bit strange, though better than anything I've tried to do. I like the Terminator too, but Imperial Fists usually have brighter armour, so it's an interesting idea.

Sorry i haven't been on with Christmas and family. I've been doing some LOTR and Space Wolves but i should have another scout done soon, i've changed the scouts eyes and will post that up with the scout i finish. Thanks guys
