Hey everyone!

I have joined the forum as part of a push to get myself back into the hobby. I have been converting, painting and not really playing on and off now for almost 10 years with no real success but i hope i can remedy this now.
Oh and i apoligise in advance for the length of this post!

A little about me(mainly to get me used to writing again!):
I started on my 10th birthday by destroying a few Space Marines and Dark Eldar without having any idea of the sacrilege i was commiting. Once i had got into the hobby a bit and read some of the material i quickly dropped my puny Marines and picked up some of the Chaos variety. I was hooked. With infinite conversion oppurtunitys ahead and a whirlwind of ideas forming i quickly bought a Codex: Chaos Space Marine(it's still my favourite). I poured over that Codex for years, writing army lists and creating Demon Princes with sickeningly epic stat lines and points values to boot! Eventually i scrapped my meager and badly made 'force'(keeping my very first 'good' conversion) and started again for a 3rd try. This time would be different i told myself, and it was, in most respects...
Armed with my new bible(from which i could now pretty much quote word for word and point a possible army on the spot) and a firm idea for a Slaanesh army full of Marines that would never be able to make up the points spent on them. Oddly enough i was completely aware of this fact and i revelled in it. The notion of playing my new 2000 point army list barely existed, i planned to enjoy collecting, modelling and painting them and that was as far ahead as i thought. After a long time assembling and converting my army i began painting them but i was becoming destracted by text based online gaming and developing a text based game with a friend of mine. This was another project that was never completed, sensing a theme? Eventually text based gaming was superseded by the demon that is Warcraft and i entered the dark ages.
Eventually the shadow lifted and the demon was banished and in the light i found a box of half painted Chaos Space Marines. The models were screaming out to be played with so i painted them up(sadly i rushed this stage a bit). With a new less Slaanesh like HQ choice to lead my force and a pretty terrible paint scheme i marched to my nearest Games Workshop store to organise a game! Well, i took a bus and a train because raised rent rates had pushed my old store out of buisness. 2 hours later i arrived, only to find out the new codex had completely changed the way Chaos Space Marines work and that my army was useless. Feeling a bit down i managed to organise a single game with a member of staff on his day off using my old codex. Game day came and i was proud to finally see my creation on the table. I was completely obliterated. I honestly didn't mind though, it was enough to see my first completed army on the table in a proper battle. Although completely destroyed my adversary did compliment me on the destruction my units could cause with a little more tactics which was nice to hear. The models went back in the box and haven't been out since. That was a year and half ago now and much has happened!
After that glorious defeat i dabbled with the new Tyrinids Codex and a few models but i left my rucksack in Glasgow Central Lower Train Station and most of my 'Nids including a large converted Hive Tyrant(the upper half of a Carnifex and the bottom of a Trygon with 6 Scything Talons) were stolen. That sealed the fate of my hobby pursuits until recently when i came across my old Tau Codex(my second favourite Codex). I came up with an idea for a Tau army with loads of fluff and started to build a diorama. I am coming to a conclusion with the diorama and am currently fine tuning a playlist. To add to this my cousin is rejoining the hobby soon and i'm planning to build a small army alongside his to play with his Pre-Heresy Luna Wolves(suggestions welcome).

Hopefully joining the forum will mean i can keep track of my project logs and get advice from the community. Although they say' 'it's not what your community can do for you, it's what you can do for your community, so i plan on helping out where i can. I should be able to add to various parts of the forum and maybe my disturbingly geeky imagination will help a few people creatively and maybe, just maybe i'll make some friends along the way!!

To conclude... I'm back, i'm active and i'm very, very fluffy!

It's a busy station or i'd have went back and ripped the guy apart. I like the way you think though! Luckily the cop who was checking if it was in lost and found filed for cctv footage, he got an image of the guys face and said he'd slap him about for me if he saw him. WIN!

Just thought i better ask...

What are the rules on bumping, incase i'm the only one posting on my own project log for instance?

I realise the irony if this post counts as illegal bumpage...

Welcome!

Your 'Nids probably ended up in the hands of a junkie, thinking that the case they were in contained something valueable.

Which it did, but I very much doubt they knew what to do with them.

I fear your 'nids may be swimming with the fishes...
