Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her home, the Press Association has reported.
Last month, the north Londoner pulled out of her European tour after she was jeered at her comeback gig in Serbia for appearing too drunk to perform.
For 90 minutes, she mumbled through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in.
The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her musical career in recent years.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained.
London Ambulance Service had been called to the flat at 1554 BST and sent two ambulances but the woman died, it said.
Winehouse had won widespread acclaim, aged 20, with her 2003 debut album, Frank.
But it was 2006's Back to Black which brought her worldwide stardom, winning five Grammy Awards.
Poor thing.

Still remember her appearance on a late show on tv, she got interviewed, then later sang Rehab, "my god, that voice" i thought when i heard her for the first time..

Clearly she needed help, I feel genuinely sorry for the skinny drug addled bag head.

I used a before and after picture of her in a drugs ed class to make the point that drugs will feth you up. The girls in the class commented "OMG CAN DRUGS MAKE YOU SKINNY?"

Addiction is a difficult thing to be sympathetic about for many people. As someone who lost a family member to lung cancer due to smoking, I tend to be a bit more forgiving. I feel very sorry for folks who kill themselves, whether with drugs or anorexia or smoking or whatever.
When I worked for the NHS, I worked with the methadone clinic team, I was shocked and disturbed by how many of the addicts came from abusive childhoods and how many suffered with psychological conditions. I've found it's rarely so cut and dry as 'they did it to themselves and don't deserve my sympathy'.

Does someone who crosses the road, knowing that there are cars on the road and there is a risk of being hit by one, deserve to die? They take the risk, so have they brought it on themselves?
I've gone out and got drunk plenty of times and during my 20s drank to massive excess, if I had drowned in my own vomit, did I bring it on myself and thereby deny myself you sympathy?
A young girl who became addicted to chemical substances died. It was not her fault in my opinion, others certainly facilitated it. I just think it's a shame and whilst you can compare it to those poor souls in Norway and it can appear on paper to be less deserving, it's still a sad thing to happen, imo.
