Yea people that do that are just stupid. Depending on what the shot is, isnt it equal to like 2 or 3 bottlenecks? I mean damn I can down the Beer when I want to, but 42-63 bottles of beer? Of god

Learned the hard way not to underestimate alcohol.
Basically not being used to whisky I felt okay until it was too late.

That is what did me KC. With beer, I find that the tummy's fuel guage hits full and tells me to stop. The whiskey didn't do that and I got hammered.
Doctor told me I had been poisoned. Was too embarrassed to say how but I suspect he saw through my, "It must have been some chicken I ate at the party"


Having seen a couple of video clips of Winehouse on her last tour under performing she was at least smashed on booze. Was a very sad sight.

You should meet my friends..... you wouldn't believe me if I told you some of the stories.

It was probably was alcohol detox rather than alcohol poisoning.

Alcohol poisoning usually happens to binge drinkers in party environments when they attempt to compete with or keep up with friends that have a much higher alcohol tolerance.

Long term chronic alcoholics like Amy Winehouse who never spend a day of their life sober don't tend to get alcohol poisoning while they are quietly drinking alone at home. They usually drink until their BAC is where they want it, and then drink a 24 pack of beer or 1/5th of hard alcohol a day to maintain their BAC. Both a 24 pack of beer or 1/5th of hard alcohol come to 24 drinks/day which is exactly how much their body removes every day. If they don't drink enough the DT's kick their ass. If they drink too much and get knocked unconscious they risk oversleeping 12+ hours and waking up to the DT's kicking their ass because it's been too long since they had a drink.

Alcohol detox and the DTs puts a lot of strain on the body, and she already wrecked her heart and lungs with the hard drug abuse. If her DTs advanced into a seizure there is no doubt in my mind that it could have killed anybody as medically compromised as Amy Winehouse.

IS it really THAT far fetched of an idea? This may sound cold hearted, but her records sales are going to have some sharp increases now that she died. And the people that will be getting that money, Im sure want that spike to go as high as possible, and the numbers will be alot better if she died some something else, then the numbers would be if she had enough heroine in her system to kill a moose

actually both would increase sales its just drug overdose would increase it more.
its not that far fetched.

On topic, the only thing that surprised me about her sudden death was how saddening it was for me. She was one of the very few mainstream singers with any talent whatsoever. It was a great loss to lose her so early.

I'm having trouble thinking of an american equivalent, in terms of things that don't get bribed.

But no, the coroner's court would not have been bribed, largely because the toxicology report will have come from a completely separate lab, with multiple people working on the analysis.

I had a bit of a chuckle at this thread.

Not because of the topic, but the fact that the last time I looked at it, the last post was by Schadenfreude. It was the way it just looked with those words in that order.

Yes, I know that she was a frequent drug user when she was alive, but that doesn't mean that her death is anymore of a hit to the drug industry than another addict's.

I can't see how being famous would somehow increase the amount of drugs your body can stand.

Maybe, but it could just be that she could afford the maximum amount that her body could take, and still have some money left over for other things, whereas another addict could buy the maximum amount that her body could take, and nothing else.

Potentially she could buy it for her friends as well? Futhermore, most heroin addicts are destitute and cannot afford to indulge as frequently as someone who has a steady income.
