I'm a huge Babylon 5 fan and I'd love too see a "modern" B5 game come out. I think the setting could work well for a RPG, MMO, FPS, or a RTS in a vein of Total War (just in space OFC). Sadly, there isn't enough of a potential market for this to ever occur. At best, it has 1/10 the fan base of Stargate which is nothing in comparison to the hordes of Trekkies (or Trekkers if you prefer) and Star Wars fans.

Something set in the Space: Above and Beyond world would be cool as well, but one season wonders from the 90s are practically ancient history by now.

Oh well.

Star Wars Republic Commando 2.

One can hope, but it's been so long since the last installment... The planned sequel, Imperial Commando, was apparently cancelled in '04, a year before the release of RC, and nothing has been said of it since.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I'd like to see a Total war fantasy game. Basically Warhammer total war but a little more in depth so you could customize the units and characters.

Victoria: Total War (Victorian/Edwardian era Total War game, basically ~1850 through WW1)
The Great War: Total War (WW1 to WW2ish)

Any decent World War 1, Korean War, or Vietnam War games. Bad Company Vietnam was pretty good on the multiplayer side of things, it captured the feel of things nicely, but left me wanting more, especially a campaign. I'm not going to lie, I played Call of Duty: Black Ops solely for the level in which you pilot the PBRs to Sympathy for the Devil.

I'd also like to see a WHFB RTS. Ideally one which includes a map campaign ala total war. I know there was mark of chaos, but I hear it was a big disappointment.

It would be cool to see a Star Wars: Empire at War sequel, but cut out the ground component and just leave it as space combat, with much larger fleets, and more ship variety.

Homeworld 3 'nuff said

A sequel to Robot Alchemic Drive (so much fun)

Another Steel Battalion Game with a ridiculous 200 dollar controller

A sci-fi sub simulator game (ideally based off the blue submarine no. 6 franchise)

A Gundam MMO that doesn't suck and is actually released outside of Japan

A Gundam game for PS3/360 that DOESN'T have Dynasty Warriors in the title and is released outside of Japan (Mobile Ops: The One Year War is like exactly what I hoped for... and its Japan only....)... seriously, let FROM SOFTWARE (makers of armored core amongst other mech games) play with the franchise a little bit so we can finally have a decent gundam game.

piggy-backing off that, how about giving ZOIDS the same treatment?

a modern day shooter that DOESN'T star the US Marine Corps... we get it, they're apparently hot gak, how about giving some credit to the other 3 branches of the armed forces that do most of the fighting.

A Rainbow Six sequel

A Crimson Skies sequel

Oh and a Final Fantasy that DOESNT suck... I'd settle for a remake of FF7 and/or 8 if it got the PS3/360 treatment...)

A decent FPS. They all just follow the same formula now, and it's just boring.

A Dawn of War or Age of Empires style WHFB (screw you Mark of Chaos, you sucked)

Command and Conquer Renegade 2.

I've never played Republic Commando (not a huge Clone fan), but I really like the concept. An Imperial Commando game sounds awesome.

Second a good WHFB.

I'll add this, a WHFB or 40k RPG or FPS. WAR showed the potential for a Warhammer rpg.

There are decent Babylon 5 mods for Homeworld 2 and X3.

Oh, and Nexus: the Jupiter Incident. In my opinion this one is best, as it most the base mechanics of the game are close to what I would expect a non-space shooter B5 game to be like.

A sequel to Midway's Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. They ended the game on a cliffhanger, and eventually the company went under, so any hope of a sequel was lost to the void.

Total Annihilation 2 (We might see it eventually, but it's stuck in copyright and ownership hell right now).

A Medal of Duty: Call of Honor on the Battlefield game whose main character is a likable character who also happens to be female (as opposed to right now, where they are neither likable, characters, nor female).

A game where you play an Inquisitor (perhaps based off of Mass Effect style gameplay?).

A game based on Battlefleet Gothic (perhaps with Homeworld 2 derived gameplay combined with the DoW concepts of summoning units instead of building them on site?).

A Total War game set in the Battletech universe.

Its more the publishers wanting to turn the games industry into the movie industry than the devs being lazy. They want to make a load of super cheap games with low budgets and then release them with the hopes that it'll bring in a profit. Publishers right now have almost all the power when it comes to what kind of game is made, how it is made, and when it has to be done.

The problem is the publishers don't seem to realize that what makes a good game is qutie different than what makes a good movie.

Any rpg where race has a large effect on the quests. Im talking whole different main quests depending on race.

well, I blame games like call of duty, which are more based on hype than gameplay. many games, like bioshock 2 and dark souls have decent gameplay, they are often overlooked, while games like modern warfare and halo fly off the shelves.

So why do "high octane" FPS games Make you spend fething hours watching cutscenes that could come strait from any action movie.
If I want a game where I blow stuff up, I will blow stuff up. It's why I play nazi zombie rather than the single player campaign...blood and guts, not [see forum posting rules] prancing around giving me their opinions (like I fething care?).
