Red Dead 3 would be nice, or at least a DLC that added some new single player. I still think that it is one of the best games ever, even if some say that its just a GTA mod.

I played it.
For a while I was actually pretty interested. The opening cutscene and the descent into Whateverit'scalled was pretty cool. As were the environments, very atmospheric.
Then you actually have to fight someone and you're basically strafing around spamming attack, and your enemies basically do the same. Why the hell can't they just stand still and fire their weapon? It wrecked it for me.
But yeah I don't think I could name a modern FPS that really beats it on environm-oh. FEAR. That gak was awesome.

No, just having to aim when they're strafing around about half a foot away from me. It's like trying to swat a bee.

So it required actual skill on the gamer's part? Gasp! How shocking!

Really dont get all this love for republic commando. All it did was ripoff the orders system (but not as good) from Rainbow six 3 (the console one) and shove it in halo. And in the process sidestep any decent gameplay features from either.

I would like to see a decent console port of Dark messiah of Might and Magic. Its the only game i've ever seen that had good first person sword combat. It also had some great art.

I suppose dishonoured (Made by the same guys: Arkane studios) could be a sequel of sorts.

It required actual skill, which is why it gave you free instant revive?
It was both easy and irritating.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that.
The insta-revive was a stupid oddity I admit.
It would be a perfect horror survival game if it weren't for that. Is there even a game over screen? I forgot.

Don't think so. It was pretty much like Prey in that you couldn't really lose. However complaining about the game because you can't aim worth a damn is a bit silly. If you want enemies to stand still when they shoot at you go back to playing doom.

Also you had a wrench in that game. I never had any problems putting monkey to face. Just don't try it on big daddy's

Actually, they also stand still in Duke Nukem 3d and Serious Sam (well, except for melee types, but they charge at you in a straight line so it counts), and those games are still pretty difficult and have a skill requirement.

Big Daddies? You mean the corporate symbol they plonked in a game and expected you not to notice?
I'd like to repeat that I had no problems at all actually killing people. And COD, for its flaws, managed not to have enemies who run up to you and strafe around. Reminds me of the AI in Jedi Knight 2.

They were running around at some stupid game day event thing, they were plastered all over the marketing.

But when you come across them they're pretty uninteresting.
Dunno I think the marketing ruined it for me.

This.

There isn't enough games where you play as a lowly soldier anymore. You are ALWAYS a commando, a Spec Ops agent, a Spess Mahreen etc.

F.E.A.R. was my favorite horror series until Dead Space came along, but F.E.A.R. is just meh....

The first game was good, the second game was awesome, and the third game was terrible.

Alma was really the only reason to play the F.E.A.R. series.......

Yeah, I remember one of the main reasons I liked COD2 was because you were just a dog soldier, go here, do this. Now you're ALWAYS a spec ops and there's some boring action plot they make you pay attention to. Yawn. Just give me a co-ordinate for me and my AI buddies to swarm to.

They're already bring out a sequal that'll use the kinect. But I know what you mean, having the full blown controller would be beautiful.

Personally I'd love a sequal or remake of Oni, or hell, a port to modern consoles. I'd buy it from the 360arcade if I could.

Building off of this, I want to play a wargame where you start off as a civilian (whose appearance you can customize just for fun's sake) with low skill in firearms, and you have to build up skill in firearms through usage (either on the enemy or in a target range) gaining xp in the weapon used to purchase upgrades to accuracy, recoil reduction, etc.

You're not even a soldier at the start in this idea. You're just an unimportant civvie caught in the middle of a massive no-man's land or a dying city, trying to survive. And you have to BUILD up your skills (aside from starting skills like: teacher, earn slightly more xp in all skills; criminal, earn more xp in sneaking/thievery skills; IT certified, earn more xp with computer/gadget skills, etc), Deus Ex / V:TM Bloodlines style.

Well, I was gonna say that kinda sounds like America's Army in a lot of ways, before you can get online you have to "enlist" in the game, and go through basic training, qualify for different weapons and skills, etc.

Yeah, but you don't have much character customization and even less story (I was thinking more of an FPSRPG in deus ex / mass effect / V:TM Masquerade / Fallout 3 etc style).

Fallout without the sci-fi would be nice. Or fallout with MORE sci-fi. Dunno, the 60s-80s style sci-fi post-apocalyptic environment wasn't for me.

For example, playing someone caught in the a warzone in the middle east, or during WWII, or during an alien invasion in a more serious sci-fi setting.

There may be a mod to get that.. I know fallout tactics had a real-world weapons mod, switching everything with rl versions with equivalent rl stats.

Was more thinking deus ex than fallout 3. Or possibly Homefront if they had done homefront properly instead of doing it like a hollywood movie.

Agree with B5, also sadly know it'll never happen.

Others..

Red Dwarf game - based on the episode 'Back to Reality' much like the RPG was. You create or let the computer make up a random group and play through a RPG set within the Red Dwarf universe. Might not be as fun as it sounds? Would need work, but for me there would be potential.

Heart of Gaia, or in general an action RPG based on Werewolf the Apocalypse, combat, inter tribal politics, facing off against the Wyrm, lots of fun to be had there. Throw in multiplayer, and I'd probably never get off it. Fates help me if the WoD MMO does ever get off the ground and they add Garou via an expansion.

Labyrinth game - adventure puzzler, RPG, mix of styles?? Not sure what it'd be, but the idea of explorering a fully mapped and to scale version of the Labyrinth based on the couple of distance shots they have in the film to me would be awesome. Random encounters, bringing a party together, multiplayer options all while trying to get to the Goblin City to face off against Jareth, that would be my game of the month for a long time.

Call of Duty/Halo - Imperial Guard style, I think it would be an awesome game, play a equivilent Kasrkin or even a Stormtrooper and fight your way through the 40K universe. As obvious as that sounds to me on paper at least, I have strong doubts that we will ever see it.

Thats all I've got atm.
