A system shock esque survival horror, where you play as some guy who wakes up after a necron invasion, and you have to fight your way past insane half-machine people (or even worse, insane techpriests who removed their implants)

WHy would they remove their implants? They'd want to put MORE on.

Read the old dex. There's a techpriest who realized that the machine god is a c'tan, and he removed all his implants.

But most tech-priests are more machine than man...

If they were to remove their implants there would be little left.

Which is why that priest in the old dex was said to have no eyes or limbs, and was only being kept alive by prison life support (I think, its been a while).

And? That's one example, just one. There's numerous other examples of techpriests getting giddy over Necrons.

Really? I need to see that.

Ok, how about techpriests forcing people to have implants? Will that be better to have in a survival horror game?

I’d love for an MK vs Street Fighter. It would never happen but it would be an awesome game (I could totally see Akuma doing a fatality against Shao Khan).

Aye, although I'd have said the same thing about Tekken and Streetfighter two years ago, so stanger things could happen.

I think the one I'd love to see would be a 'World Fighter' style game, having a core rooster from Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, KotF, Tekken and DoA. With additional fighters from other beat em ups like BlazBlue, Darkstalkers, killer Instinct etc that would equate to at least one Hundred fighters total over the entire game.

Aye, although if World of Darkness gets released and is working as intended, that will scratch my Vampire the Masquerade itch for a long time.

I'd second the call for another Star Trek: bridge Commander. That was how Star Trek should be, not spamming large fleets like Armada or flying around with arcade controls like Legacy.

Another Heavy Gear game, but I'd like something more RPG like. Maybe a bit like Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. It's got a rich background that should be explored more.

I had hoped that 40K Dark Millennium Online would have been an RPG type MMO where you play as part of an Inquisitor's warband and work up to Inquisitor rank yourself... But alas no.

How would that make sense in an MMO environment?

And I second Heavy Gear, loved those games.

Vampire the Masquerade MMO coming from Eve creator CCP games.

They brought out White Wolf in 2006, and that was pretty much what they had in mind.

Everyone was expecting a nwod game, but they announced it was going to be Masquerade about eighteen months ago.

Due to some issues with Eve last year, its been shunted to the side atm, but CCP assure folks it will be released, just not as quickly as first planned.

Very limited info atm, other than starting characters are restricted to the Camarilla Seven clans, and that like Eve, players will be able to somehow mark the story of the in game world.

There are also some clothing and walking tech vids on youtube that show how impressive the Characters may look.

Tbh boring isn't a word I've heard associated with it. Hard to get into at first, a time eater, but once you have earned some stuff and get into the main game, its supposed to be pretty awesome.

Its just getting past the intial bit is the problem, hence.

I've never played it mind, just bumped into quite a few rabid fans over the years, some of them totally unexpected. Like a Refridgeration engineer that worked here on the shop during the refit.

I personally think that a RTS game in the vein of the Total War series for Starship Troopers (the novel or the movie, I don't really care). Bug 'untis' would have to be at least 300 strong.

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

EVE is a game that is awesome; if you'll dedicate your life to it.

You have nothing holding your hand or saying what's expected of you, so you have to make your own goal.

For me? It was get a battleship. I quested rabidly (incredibly boring, gives grinding a whole new meaning) and I got there... so woo, I had a grinding machine set up that I never wanted to risk in battle. I did some PvP in interceptors (the faction pvp) and realised that there was literally no reason to do it other than 'fun': you were putting your expensive ships on the line with no material bonuses to be had other than rep. Most PvP outings were sitting with a fleet, chatting in vent, perched on one side of a jump gate that the enemy fleet was on the other side of. We'd just sit there and taunt the others to jump through first, as whoever jumps gets the disadvantage of bringing in all their drones and, obv, doesn't arrive as a cohesive force.

So yeah, pvp outings that took around 4 hours to get nothing accomplished, missions that were grindfests... If you want to get truly involved in the game it seems you need to get in with the player pvp between the corps and whatnot, and jeez, before going into 0-sec (where all this is) you want to grind up enough rep with an NPC corp to use a jump clone; I just couldn't be arsed to spend so long grinding. Then ofc, I imagine, once you get to the corp they're going to demand your time, want you to turn up when you're needed (i.e. stuff is under attack): EVE is a game to control your life, it's a second job when it comes to endgame and anything prior to that is just pointless!

Definitely the best mechanics in any space game though, when it comes to cap ships, at least out of what I've tried... rather realistic, turret tracking speeds matter, there's electronic warfare... I'd definitely play a lobby-based version of EVE that was just about fleet battles and nothing else.

I am an Industrialist in EVE, and this is all true on the same side of the equation. The only fun thing is knowing you control large amounts of space, or you have fake space money in a video game.

Sure it's fun to build a massive Capital ship, for like 16 seconds then you need to work on keeping it safe.....moving it...

"The Imperium is nothing if not willing to go to any lengths necessary. So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Enjoy tentacle-rape, Kirk, we know Sulu will." -Terminus

"This great fortress was a gift to the Blood Ravens from the legendary Imperial Fists. When asked about it Chapter Master Pugh was reported to say: "THEY TOOK WHAT!?""

Yep and the playerbase is pretty remorseless.

I mean, honestly, what's the point in podkills barring adding them to your record?

I think PotBS is the better-balanced MMO if you want a player-run economy.
