That beholder needs to see a dentist, too bad he'll be too convinced the dentist will try to kill him That's a nice detail you added. The amount of detail and skill on the whole beholder is really amazing

Echoing everyone else, the Beholder is top notch. I'll be painting one myself soon, yours is certainly inspiration!

Beauty is in the eye(s) of the Beholder, indeed. Great work, especially considering the cheaper plastics.

Thank you so much, everyone. I was pretty jazzed with how it turned out, so I really appreciate you guys taking the time to comment.

New page, new pics. Finished Lelith Hesperax. I like this model a lot. Probably one of GW's best female minis, certainly at the time.

I feel that she worked out well. The underpainting has given the Contrast an interesting finish. Glad to finally call her done, as this is the metal version purchased not long after it was released.

And a rollover Beholder just in case.

More in the works. Hope to snatch up the new Zoat here soon, assuming my preorder at the FLGS went through. That's one I want to get to right away. As always, thanks for looking!

Great job on Lilith. The olive base really gives her a unique skin tone. I'm not sure how to describe it - she doesn't look unhealthy, but she does look like she's been through some stuff and might be only a few soul snacks away from breaking down again. Plus, it looks like you took the extra step to give her some eyeshadow effects, which really adds character. Love it.

My painting log is full of snakes

Man that beholder turned out fantastic!
The eyes are really mesmerizing. Really good job.

Lelith looks great too! I like how you painted her face.
I can also see why the base took it's time. Totally worth it.

Thank you! I enjoyed seeing her come together. Now for a sharp left turn into something totally unrelated to anything shown so far.

Seeing models from Limbo Division online, I decided to seek them out for myself. I found their online store (I think Limbo minis is theirs, too. for fantasy stuff. LD 209 seems to be sci-fi-fi. not a ton of info out there about these guys.), and finding the prices acceptable, ordered the two available models, hoping they weren't a scam. I had no idea they were coming from fershlluganah China, so it has been a bit, but they did indeed arrive.

Nice. What's inside?

Oooohhh...pretty. It seems these guys are going for the limited boutique feel, similar to Kingdom Death. Actually, it seems they are looking to out-Kingdom-Death Kingdom Death. Scantily clad 35 mm pin-up girls, extra thicc, fancy packaging, character art cards, small resin print runs, zippo for context right now. Seems familiar. But instead of stamped craft cardboard boxes, we have screen printed metal tins, and instead of cardstock, the art cards are printed on a plastic material more like credit cards. So far, the quality is there. My initial inspection shows clean casts, nice detail, no missing parts (thankfully).

My anaconda don't want none... 36-24-36? Only if she's 35 mm.

These are pretty sweet.

Looking forward to painting these soon. The plan is to push these toward the front of the queue. Have I mentioned I hate resin? Wish they would stop making models I want in it...

Also, posted a few pics of 54 mm =][= models in the OOP thread. Shared here for why nots.

Questionable choices several years old. I threw myself on Inquisitor like a live hand grenade when it was released. Still haven't painted a single model. Hobby paralysis is a real thing. I hope that working through more models, tracking progress, having the dakka community to share with, will all make painting these things a possibility, as well as assembling the few that are still pieces.

Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking!

The old Inquisition stuff looks great. Try to paint one by the end of the year? See if it sparks something to motivate the rest of them across the bench. Nice looking collection of figs, they deserve paint.

Those gals sure are cheesecake. Reminds me I’ve got 3 Raging Heros commissars sitting somewhere for my friends IG contingent I should paint. I really need a batter tracking system for the Pile of Shame, so when the monthly competition has a wacky theme, I remember I have more then just the ready stuff in my primed pile from active projects.

Limbo Division tho, you weren't kidding about thicc levels. Awesome quality too.

Beautiful work on Lelith, she looks great, I especially love her face and armor plates.

I'm stoked to see the Limbo division models get painted, was tempted to get those two myself as I follow the artist on Instagram and am a huge fan of their work.

Man, that Beholder is stunning. The eyes are an especially good excellent example of freehand.

Lelith looks great, not a miniature I see often and I like the variant colour scheme you have chosen. Looking forward to the Limbo Division minis in the future.

Thanks a lot, guys!

Nev, I may try that. Thanks.

Stuff happening. Various models for no good reason and the second squad of old-school Terminators for Space Hulk. Deathwing this time, except for the Captain, who will be painted like the Imperial Fists. Metal models are so much FUN...

Bunch of prep, with the Terminators and Limbo gal plus deciding to get the rest of the Brotherhood squad ready for Contrast so they can be done finally.

Thanks for looking!

Awesome stuff going on as usual.

Cool that you managed to get those Limbo Divisiion models. I had to google them and man are they cool! Too bad that they are all sold out.
Really interested to see them painted.

I bet you still enjoy them more than resin?
Metal models always remind me of the early days of our hobby and the old big metal chunk that was my friend's Space Wolf Dreadnought.
It weighted a ton and its big arms would drop off in every game. Partly because we were young and did not know how to pin or otherwise strengthen the bond.

Awesome! More metal Terminators! There’s something about their weight that is just so satisfying. That captain model looks a really cool sculpt, he’ll look great all in yellow. It’s good to see some more progress on your green marines too

Thanks, guys.

Metal > resin. All day. Although so far the LD lady has been ok. Probably the quality of the cast. I was surprised I was able to get them, as well, when i saw how limited the run was. For anybody interested, their new release either just went on presale or will very shortly. Cosplay homage girl. And her mech.

Metal models are the solid foundation of the hobby. I have just been spoiled by all the plastic these days.

I totally hear you on being spoiled by plastic - being able to get a mold line off without pulling out a file is hard to beat. But I like back in third when all my troops were plastic, but all my HQs and elites were a much heavier, much more substantial pewter - it made them feel more important!

I have a sock full of metal dreadnoughts that say metal is better than resin any day of the week.

I love the newer Contemptor dreads. Almost as much as the old Contemptor/Furibundus metal original dreads. I was upset when i watched a youtube video by miniac listing the ancient dread as ugly. He has no taste . He also didn't like the old Mordheim town Crier model , what is this world coming too.

This came in. FLGS making it happen. This will disrupt things easily as much as the Limbo Division lassies, with a backside nearly as big.

Still plenty on the go. Thanks for looking!
