I want to build some terrain, specifically, I am interested in building some Infinity terrain, which normally has a smooth, futuristic, Asian tech-city feel to it.







However, fluff-wise, my faction, the Ariadna are remnants of old US, UK, French and other western-thinking nations, so I think their architecture may be different. I don't really know where to start, I envision a Munda-like board with many overhead catwalks and such, but I'm just not sure about the architectural style to use to be honest. I have piles and piles of Hirst Blocks cast up, but not enough to really do anything with yet, so I need to wait on the Dental Stone.

It's sort of frustrating me a bit. The web has a few decent scratch-built Infinity boards, but not many.






Most people are using the Micro-art and Warmill-type laser-etched wood kits, but that really isn't my style if you know what I mean.

I think my brain is just sooo saturated with 40k-ish Grimdark ideas, that it is really hard to ove away from that look.

oh yeah... coruscant...that is a bloody good idea... tho an epic task if you want to do it right... and almost unplayable afterwards i guess...

No I don't hink so. I think it is a hell of an idea, Dave. I think that it fits in with the Hive city approach as well. Sorta like the upper levels or think like a "Fifth Element" setting or some such......

Buildings that start on the ground, with their rooftops forming the tabletop, and if it's against a wall then another layer of buildings going up.

Why stop there? Use a modluar system like i do with my buildings, and you can just keep stacking and stacking

Only problem would be accessability. I remember a pic going round the net of a munda game in a sort of skyscraper. But that was just 1 foot by three feet, and TALL... the size allowed access. A table thats 4x4 (average munda) with tall structures along the edges becomes useless in the centre.

Now if we can solve that...

absolutly understood and i feel your pain for not getting to work on this immediately...

and i actually would love to see that with small LED´s...lots of´em... and then play in the dark... only with the LED´s illuminating the platforms and such things... you know this would be amazing...

Modular..YES..THis is important.
What size modules?
My table is 4x6' and has modular supports underneath every square foot.

I reckon a donut shaped table is the best, with a chunk cut out of one of the edges so you can get in the middle.
