Thanks, and indeed lol. Bane the bat is a great figure, and I've focused on Bane and Joker as factions for 3rd ed, so had to have him, really.

Thanks muchly! It's an interesting diversion to paint very random things.

Anyway, speaking of Joker...

Red Hood Joker, 3rd Ed promo, with kitbash base.

I think he's looking... ACE
Got another great game of Shadows played today, culminating in a huge fight in a cryo chamber:

Definitely the closest we've come to losing since our first game. Swarms of void spiders, an alien Harvester, and this mighty confrontation at the end. Brutal, very narrowly survived (and even then heavily corrupted) and used up a lot of gear in the process. Good stuff!
Didn't mention that in the boys' escape from Coruscant yesterday, they managed to get Leia killed Well, KO'd. So before the campaign finale they need to go rescue the captive princess first. Shucks. Pesky Bounty Hunters have got her, and are demanding a high price from the Empire for their prize.
Momentary mild weather meant I also got a whole lot of priming done yesterday, star wars and Dreadball mostly. Looking forward to cracking on!

So as warned, I'm definitely turning to the dark side...

AT-DP walker.

So much blending on those greys.

Love this sick old bastard:

And of course, he needs a young Jedi to turn to the Dark Side.

This was a stressful paint, but in the end, rather pleased... Until I look at the gallery pic. It is maddening that the figure looks great in RL and I zoom in the gallery and... Ugh. Just looks AWFUL. Fat brush strokes and lazy OSL Anyway, continuing the "I have primes everything black" theme...

0-0-0 and BT-1, the psychotic murderous droid duo from the current (classic trilogy era) star wars comics. In best protocol droid voice: "My little friend is saying, Ha ha ha, ha ha ha, you're all dead now."

Riot Troopers! Loosely based on colour scheme from computer games.

Elite Riot Troopers - using the clone wars colour scheme, mostly.

Droid Troopers. They're chunky.

And what would Mando Monday be without Dark Troopers? Anyway, still plenty of Star Wars still to do. Ahsoka arrived today
Also got my psycho robot ref team finished for Dreadball

The very observant among you will have noticed that my avatar has changed. A million cookies (of the internet variety) for the first person to figure out why

Played the evil corrupted pumpkin adventure from BGG, great fun but almost went HORRIBLY wrong certainly a narrow escape. Funny how they keep doing that
Put together a Gothic Western soundtrack for the kids, a mix of Ennio Morricone, music from The Mandalorian, Grant Lee Buffalo/Phillips, Seasick Steve, acoustic Foos, Johnny Cash, the From Dusk til Dawn and Hateful Eight Soundtracks... Any other musical suggestions?
On we go,

Another excellent set of Star Wars dudes - The riot trooper scheme works really well, the red against the white is nice.

Is that squiggly SoB beast something you have printed?

Cheers man, it's really just extrapolating from versions in other media. Dan (older boy) had a lot of input, and was very insistent on the use of grey, which I think really complements the red and white.
Yeah, the Giant Pumpkin was done on the printer. I had to take it down to fitting on a 60mm base rather than a 90mm (so an XL boss rather than XXL) simply because of the size of my printer bed. The throwing pumpkins were printed separately then attached, along with a 3rd one as a marker for their first encounter with corrupted vegetables

Boiling water is the solution, need to get on that and thanks! I've been revisiting a lot of acoustic-y Americana/rock, John Mellencamp, Foos, that sort of thing.

Pottering along. The announcement that FW is doing the tau drones finally means...

Yup. A bit of AI! Need to get more game on, but time and life. Still, this means we're really optimised for playing whatever we fancy. I did the drones with Nihilakh over Nuln Oil, to try to get a sort-of stealth effect, which I'm a bit meh on, but still. On the other hand, so many layers of white on the dome of Ground Asset... You'd think I'd be sick of that after stormtroopers.

I've also added Tau pads to the AI bases for a bit o' fishy fun. The drones are printed, but they're the official ground assets. If I want more drones, it's easy enough to print more - it's a very good STL (unlike the marauder ones :/) I really like the ground assets (although £22 for the 3 is obscene) as you can remove the turrets and use them as emplacements. The drones are likely to be £16 for 2... Not happening.
Got an amazing supply drop from endtransmission

Work is very busy - I mean I appreciate you wouldn't necessarily know it from my output but it is. The difference is I'm marking early in the day and "live" so I have more time in the evening to unwind and paint, which is good.

Yup, all kinds of horrid critters, thanks to the lovely endtransmission.

Plus a couple of home printed tentacles. I've also printed a neat cowgirl and fungal zombie, which are rather fun, and some of the isle of Lewis chessmen for my dad.

Sorry I've not posted much over the last couple of days. My head is not good. Had to get the cat put down, and that on top of lockdown lunacy isn't much fun. Very up and down. Very frustrated keeping on top of house, life, kids.

ANY-way...
Had the genuine delight of the frontier town arriving late Friday night:

It adds a whole other layer by randomising towns, and adding both adventures and events. We then went back off down the mine...

It was bloody nasty. You can see fungus the zombie man at the back of that horde. And because the copy of Swamps I won on eBay also turned up, we were able to fully enjoy the unmitigated horror of swarms of zombies and Slashers.

No paint progress. But something will come up, no doubt

Thanks. I'm finding that I am indeed very impressed with the newer stuff

To add insult to injury, hand is bothering me again. It's working from home at a less than ergonomic desk/chair. Buggeration. Can see it in my painting.

A fairly quick and dirty paint job on these three, but why does it matter? Well apart from Tycho (penny arcade Xtreme promo), which I don't own, that's EVERYTHING painted: every team (35 teams, captains for all, coaches and countless star players, trophies, giant... The lot pretty chuffed with that
I have achieved further nerdvana by getting a Shadows of Brimstone Minecart pledge from a mate. As I didn't want the two core games or their minis (thanks endtransmission ), I've scored all the expansions (and... there's a lot) for £135, which is an absolute bargain. £500+ retail, certainly. Only a couple of the large expansions are boxed, but such is the peril of Kickstarter. I'm going to try to exercise self-control however (lying...) by sticking the boxed stuff into the loft, and keeping it till June (father's day / my birthday). That still leaves 2 otherworlds (Derelict Ship and Blasted Wastes), 3 mission packs and all the extra monsters and heroes, never mind the two base games. We've got enough content to last us till then regardless... right?

On we go,
Graven

Cheers mate, it's down to weirdos like you pushing me all the time

A busy couple of work days, but wife had a day off which alleviated things somewhat with tiny. Having running out of other unprimed figs, decided to finally tackle display Superman, and a not-so super man (barely even a man, really).

So, Superman has a stylised Whoosh.

Not sure about it. Hard to paint.

Looks a bit like toothpaste. Enjoyed doing the Daily Planet though.

As you may have noticed, I went for a WW84 Max Lord scheme for him

Don't think he'll be grabbing her by the pussy.

Also meant I had time to build the Burrower, one of the Shadows XXL figs

Have you a minute to talk about our lord and saviour Shai-hulud?!
He's a big bugger - even bigger than the 90mm base he's supposed to go on

Anyway, I've run out of primed figs, as I say. So, I think it'll be resin prints I'd hand-prime regardless next.
Till then,
I remain, sir,
