And even though I've addressed this in an earlier post, you hold the axes close to the head if your enemy is up close and you don't need the extra reach, and Skarbrand likely wants to get very close. I learned that after like, two minutes of googling one handed axe technique. But I forgot, everyone's an expert right?

Picture yourself holding axes in each hand. Are you going to feel comfortable or wieldy holding them at the end of the haft when you're doing anything other than swinging them at the enemy anyways? I dont think so... Long handle, heavy axe head, way more comfortability in movement if you hold the axe closer to the head. Shift it out if you need the range/centrifugal force.

It would feel pretty wierd running with the two axes held at the end of the haft. It would be your natural reaction to hold them near the head before you got to combat.

After watching the TV show Vikings again, I concede the point about holding the axe near the top.

Flesh Hounds: Looks like current stuff...

Well, that makes it seem pretty darn clear that we aren't getting plastic Flesh Hounds anytime soon then. Oh well, I can still convert them from the AoS starter set Lord, and, even if I have to buy a lord for every single hound, it will probably still be cheaper than whatever GW's price for a box set of plastic hounds would be. (and I'll have a bunch of spare lords to do conversions/trade with...)

Yeah, I think he looks fine for what he is. I do kind of wish it was closer to the John Blanche artwork, but hey, what are you gonna do?

So his rules for 40k are exactly the same.

I was hoping he would be a bit more useful, but i'll buy it and just support him with psychics or something. The (friend or foe) thing really cuts into his usefulness against armies with any cc capability.

Maybe theres something not listed there that he has now. Who knows.

Probably did it himself, while he was on his all expenses paid 8 days and nights aerial tour of the Realm of Chaos courtesy of Khorne tossing him into exile. I'm sure there's quite a few sights to be seen on such an adventure, but it may have gotten got old after 3 days with nothing else to do, so he took up hair styling.

I was excited until I saw ST 6. I was hoping for.... more.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Depends how closely they've kept his rules, and whether the ones presented are the full story.
Notably that his axes have Fleshbane and Armourbane between them. Also he has Instant Death as a Warlord trait. Finally, he has Furious Charge as all Khornate Daemons.
So he might as well be listed as S9/10.

I like how his AoS rules are opposite of how other monsters work. Put some wounds on them and they diminish, put some wounds on Skarbrand and ouch.

Wow, Skarbrand is a fine lookin' model. Those wings are something else, and his face and pose with the axxes is fantastic.

Skarbrand holds his axes like meat cleavers. He is a bloody chef who is about to cook up some bloody meal.

Well, He sure has a lot a 'show' muscles. Must not be that strong.
Jokes aside, his gotee as terrible as his price. His wings are not nearly as wrecked as they should be. If a morghast can fly, I fail to see why he cant, much less why he hasnt regenerated since the whole 'warhammer world blowing up and all the characters being killed off, THEN miraculously being reborn somehow..' The model suffers from rock (object underfoot) syndrome, not to mention the way he is carrying his axes around town. Does he plan on taking them for a stroll or just punching people with them instead of using them with purpose?

The model is nice looking, and probably the most interesting feature is the skull-plate mask on his tabard with the skull monocle. Someone feel free to use that as a conversion, it will make the model look great.

Also curious why he even has facial hair, I would much rather have his 'beard' turn into fleshhound frills like they did with the new AoS chaos warriors.

Again, model is nice, but there is zero reason beyond money grubbing that they didn't just include alternate bits in the BT kit to make this guy. Also anyone who wanted to use Skarbrand SC has probably already gotten the new BT kit and made their own by now.

Lets just hope the big bird-lizard or boob-crab-cow gets the same treatment.

Oh and because it WILL come up about how he holds his axes. He is a demon, why would it matter if he held them to swing more, it shouldn't be difficult for him. Since most things are smaller than him, on a technical point, that 'extra' reach/distance/effort, whatever you want to call it, would come in handy.
Then again, his wings should either be stubby, or have regenerated by now lol

Axe or not I hate it and I kinda liked the blooddthirster. I hate the head, the beard, the wings, everything. The paintjob is crap though so maybe, just maybe differently painted and vieved from another angle I will be able to tolerate it.
