Something totally new, apparently. I'm guessing some kind of fantasy adventurer line, probably the popular human fighter archetype.

Maybe they read my post about heroes kit for fantasy, and we will get it or at least something similar/useful?

If it is for digital release then they will come with dual body options, with and without. If physical, to date all their plastic fantasy releases have had puddle bases.

That's what I thought too when I saw this in my e-mail, but then I read what they'd cited as their Mood: Strider-y. Based on that I'm wagering on rangers. After all, there were two Half-elven rangers in LotR, the sons of Elrond. And plenty of fantasy games both physical and electronic have Elves and Half-Elves as rangers and scouts, so adding a few pointy eared heads. While current players of Rangers of Shadowdeep probably have all the rangers they need, such a kit will give flexibility for newer players and any fantasy game that needs light skirmishing Spec Ops types like the Rangers of the North.

I loathe puddle bases, but I like WGA's models so much that I put up with trimming them off.

That being said, ditching the puddles would make my life easier

I think we're in agreement. I trim puddle bases all the time, including from metal miniatures, which is a major pain in the buttocks. But I love it when I don't have to.

UPDATE #37
10/9/2023 11:14 AM
Who wants Heavy Infantry?!
Update #37
When you just need something a little more elite!
Hello you 'orrible Damned backers!

It's Charlie here again and today we are taking a look at the shock troops of The Damned, the Heavy Infantry.

Well then, there's a lot to discuss here! The first thing that grabs me is the variety of ranged weapons on offer. I'm a big fan of their dual barrelled rifles. It is very easy to imagine the amount of damage these elite shock troopers could deal when storming an enemy position with those.
If that isn't enough then these stalwart individuals also have access to grenade launchers, flamethrowers and multiple energy weapons! My favourite has to be the grenade launcher. It's the noise I can hear in my mind as it fires "ploonk, ploonk, ploonk" before the shell detonates and blows a handful of unsuspecting soldiers to pieces!
Let's not forget the body of the model, literally. Rob (sculptor) has captured a lot of movement in each of the bodies. Unfortunately not all of them will make it to the sprue due to space restrictions. For me a kneeling body is a must. Choosing which ones to leave behind will be tough!
I really do like the additional body armour the Heavy Infantry is wearing. Particularly the gorget protecting the throats of the infantrymen. Don't forget that the melee weapons from the Gene-edited Warriors will fit just fine on these bodies!

Finally, I am sure you have noticed the number of head options that Rob has sculpted, I am loving the bald heads with gas masks, they look great but there's a clear favourite for me. Inspired by Japanese Men-yoroi masks, if the weapons they carry don't instil fear in their enemy then these masks definitely will!
Let us know what you think in the comments below. Don't forget, this is just the parts that have been sculpted and not exactly what will be on the sprue. And with that I will leave you until the next update!

What I think I like best, so far, is that nothing about the models says 'bad guy' until the heads are added.

With the sheer number of head types included with Dsath Fields kits, there is going to be a lot of kitbashing when this KS delivers.

Not a huge fan of the above heads... Though I do kind of like the bald gas mask, almost Riddick head... I will probably use regular trooper or female trooper heads... but likely will skip the demon mask heads. May use some spare Eisenkern heads...

Good stuff.
Weirdly, I like these new Oni--ish heads. Not sure if I'd use them, but they are pretty cool.

The oni-masks certainly have a blood-pact feel. Correct me if i am wrong, but this is the first time that particular look has been produced in plastic?

I daresay The Damned pledgers who do not want to use the Oni masks will be able to move them on with little effort initially.

Looks like someone from WGA has recently contacted the author of Space Weirdos (miniature agnostic game found here https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/359157/space-weirdos ). I wonder what it could mean? A Weirdo line of minis?

Actually Charlie is the Director of Sales for the whole company.

Some bits of news:

1. We have some conversion parts for our WW1 plastics over on our shop at Only-Games (also available on our site in digital format):
https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/weird-war-one-conversion-parts

2. BEF/Home Guard Vox Populi first "winner" is at 39% and rising and we'll be adding a big update with final Peter Dennis artwork, revised parts, and planned frame inclusions

3. The 12th entry for Vox Populi will go up for vote soon too.

Thanks gang!
