Got a private request for this information so I thought I'd share. Gentleman asked how I magnetized my Typhoon MLs on to the land speeders without using the doors. Simple pic shows magnet locations. Keep in mind that you have to build the MLs the WRONG WAY in order to get this to work!

Capitalize on mistakes and you shall learn the way. I bet someone once said that.

Nice setup, I might be looking at stealing that design.

It's been pointed out that the magnet sticking out of the vehicle isn't very attractive, but it's not very noticeable on the tabletop. If it was a problem for you could always fully recess the magnet in the vehicle and the place it's opposing magnet on the surface of the underside of the missile piece where it's hidden from view. I was just kind of feeling my way through the conversion so I didn't think about that, and frankly... the magnet on the hull doesn't really bother me.

The Mrs. has asked me to tell you that she is sick to death of baking cookies.
...
I gently reminded her that it was her idea in the first place.
...
That didn't go over well, as those of you who are married might have guessed.

Prizes should be on their way by the weekend. Very sorry for the delay guys.

Hey Guys! I just came across this page last night and have loved the whole thing, this epic! I'm just getting back into the swing of things with 40k after being a way for awhile.

I have about 1000 points of Lamenters lying around that i whipped up when the Badab War IAs came out, I love the whole story line, and your Mantis Warriors are freaking amazing! I can't wait to see what comes next! I may have to go green and different shade of yellow to give my Lamentor's some partners in crime!

Hmmm... have to look at that last army shot I did. Without any "invisible" upgrades (epistolaries & the like) I'm pretty sure I'm up around 4,500 pts. That'll jump with the next round of painting as it's all Land Raiders and Terminators in the que. I'm fiddling with my orks at the moment, but should be attacking one of my Mk-1 Land Raiders very shortly (maybe two if you're lucky).

Thank you cp! It was kind of a by-the-seat-of-my-pants thing because I had no idea how it was *supposed* to go together.

Wonderful to have you stop by Azalle! Thanks so much for taking the time to check out the blog and especially comment. I've been doing this army for so long it's easy to get into a mental rut... it's always a joy when someone new stops by and comments. Really re-charges the batteries and gets the creative juices flowing. Please don't be a stranger.

Do you have a blog for your Lamenters? I'd love to check them out!

Because I promised...

Here's where we start. Mk-1 LR in good condition. Blue... decorated for world eater angry marines. I don't get the whole angry marines thing but apparently I'm in the minority. Anyway... bare spot on the front is where I removed extra treads and a God-awful twin HB set-up (the whole heavy bolter section from a MK-1 Razorback). I removed it, cut it down, will cut it down further and build a cowel for it & mount it on the front upper angle of the hull. Have to come up with a decent way to mount a multi-melta... then go get a multi melta.

I'll give it a good going over to remove any mold lines, then painting should start promptly.

Come to think of it, I know exactly what I'm going to do for the MM... but it'll take some work.

How well do you know me??? Let's find out, shall we?

Problem: Gits needs to get a multi-melta option on this Mk-1 Land Raider.
He will:

A) Go old school. Gits will make a sturdy little pin mount out of wire... like the original but much sturdier to keep the look and structure of the vehicle consistent with the original design.

B) Go new school. Gits will come up with some removable but totally new style of mount so he can get the multi-melta in place, his design is probably better anyway.

C) Go stupid school. Gits will figure out a way to make an open hatch that fits over the glued shut existing hatch with a multi-melta bearing marine sticking out.

Which did I do?? (note the past tense... it's already done)
Cast your vote and see how well you know me!!
