Don't have much yet, still starting out in 40k. But I'm a little proud of my Warboss I painted, nothing special, just different from most. I could use a better camera because the picture sucks though. He still needs a little work here and there but I'll do some major touch ups and maybe a little more detail on him after I finish painting the whole army, trying to get ready for a local doubles tournament August 1st.

I still need to base them, but here's the band that's at the heart of my heavy metal themed Ork army.
Pictured are left to right.
BAND STAFF
Dr. Hiram J. Feelgoode - The band's physician, dealer, spiritual adviser and waffle chef.
THROGGWAZZA
Kragg Hamma - Backing vocals, rhythm guitar and master fo ceremonies.
Johnny Skaggmouth - Resident shredmaster, master of the electric guitar.
Squiggy - Grot drummer and occasional squig bait.
Throgg - The Voice of Metal. The Booming Beserker. THROGGWAZZA!'s warlord and lead vocalist.
Da Bassist Wot Gots No Name - He plays the bass, he has no name, no one ever asked.
And yes, they are in another thread on the site. But none of the other pics turned out. And my camera's 10 feet away, and my chair's comfy.....

Great looking ork stuff. Your conversions/kit-bashes are full of little details and items of interets and the grimy/rusty paint work is nice!!!

Ya, I learned alot about scratch building and weathering with hose vehicles. Im jsut really BITTER about my looted russ getting turned into a rhino with a battle cannon option.
My buggies lost their rams and ability to tank shock with upgrades too. *sighs* I used to tank shock units of marines off the table with a 65 pt buggy....ram leman russes with a s6 hit to the rear armor...the good ole days.
Now I have to build Battlewagons(or in my case squiggoths) with Deff Rollas to do that sort of mayhem. But I guess its an excuse to bash together bigger models!

Field it as a "counts as" BW w/ kill kannon, ard top, and reinforced ram. That way the armour is closer to accurate, you can tank shock, etc. Works perfect that way and I'd have no problem playing you or anyone else that wanted to do that...

Im not sure a russ is big enough to work as a BW, doesnt have any real access points either...but I havent read the 'counts as rules' so Im not sure if that even matters

BW with Ard top and kill kannon loses it's transport ability. You don't want a looted Russ to have transport ability becasue a Russ has none.
That combo of wargear on a BW perfectly simulates a looted/orkified Leman russ... (armour is right, ordnance main gun, tank shock ability, no transport, etc., etc.) Perfect fit.

(armour is right, ordnance main gun, tank shock ability, no transport, etc., etc.) Perfect fit. I think you might be confused. A kill kannon lowers the transport capacity of a battlewagon to 12. I don't think the 'Ard Case affects transport capacity. Unless I'm reading the codex wrong. A BW with a KK can't be taken as a dedicated transport option, maybe that's what you're thinking of? VVV Or that. VVV

Killcannon on a BW reduces cap to 12, a 'ard top reduces to 5 fire points and 3 access hatches.
I think you got it mixed up with a looted vehicle- upgrading to the battle cannon on those does remove their transport capacity Automatically Appended Next Post: And down side #2, it actually costs more than a leman russ, and gets a weaker gun. S7 vs S10 for the same range.
Anyhow- we're hijackin the thread

That is EXCELLENT.
I picked up the Goff Rockers at last year's GD Chicago, and plan on painting them up (and adding a drummer) for the open category of the 2010 GD. I love it!

My Big Mek takes offense at your suggestion that his grand gift for Invenshun and Inovashzun is somehow limited by his subpar intelligence!!!
He is now building a supa looted vehicle to destroy you with, and if he is able to complete it BEFORE running out of rivets or getting distracted by some other shiny object in need of fixin then you are doomed...

Really you dont have to. Orks do come in different colors. The SUPER old school Orcs were brownish. LOTR Orcs are brownish. Also according to fluff the way they are made, the environment could easily change the color of their skin. Personally tho, I like the green skin better.

Yeah and the LOTR Orcs turn jet black once they're exposed to direct sunlight if I remember correctly. Most of the pictures of fungi I've looked at through Google are in the Red/Orange/Brown range but real fungus grows in just about any color of the rainbow and I've been able to find striking examples of all of them. Why not Orks? (Of course, I like green Orks best as well) CT GAMER wrote:GoFenris wrote:Mistress of minis, I really like you're Ork vehicles! The looted ones look great! Very Orky!
