Jes sculpted the original Sisters of Battle, the original Howling Banshees, the original Harlequins, and the Escher hive gangers for Necroumunda. They should at least be OK.

I fear the addition of Harlequins to the Dark Eldar. They'll relegate Wyches to second rate status. If anything is iconic to the Dark Eldar it's the Wyches. Unless Harlies are limited to 0-1, or have some other army restriction to taking them I see them taking over for Wyches. Unless Wyches get a special rule that allows them to consolidate/sweep into HtH (which they desperately need), which really fits into their supposed role as close combat masters.
Hellions as plastics? Gotta mean they're adjusting them to be worth taking (or so cheap points-wise that you don't mind losing them).

Harlies would be non-scoring Elites; Wyches would be Scoring Troops. Simple as that.

Besides laying down the plans (and sculpting in 1998) nearly all the plastic SM line, a lot of the Eldar line, etc.

He's got a distinctive style and he's amongst GW top sculptor (besides being the oldest one there). If someone can make a drop dead gorgeous miniature, it's Jes. The reason I'm so excited (no pun intented) about DE is the fact that this man can do to any army what Brian Nelson did to the Orks (let's not talk about the SM Scout heads, that wasn't Brian's field anyway).

I also point you to this, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/208658.page , where you can check out the work Jes has been putting out, sketch-wise. I think it's an interesting look at how his drawings often translate to balanced miniatures.

All the miniatures you mentioned were sculpted in the early/mid 1990's. I'm at a loss to find some more recent female sculpts, but we have the Cold One Knights (female enough? ) from the Dark Elf line.

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=cat440050a&pIndex=1&aId=9600006&start=2

I rest assured my next army will be Dark Eldar.

Watch it them Notts lasses are alright
The sculptors are chained to their benches and never see a woman. All they have for reference are the dwindling memories of their own dear mothers.
That, added to thrice sized heroic scale heads is a recipe for a miniature guaranteed to scare the horses.

That's purely opinion.

EDIT: As in, personal preference. Now, I've never been to California (I'm assuming that's what SoCal means) but going off of what I've seen on TV and movies and the like... you can keep 'em.

Sorry bro, but that there is fact!

There are plenty of beautiful English girls, no doubt (Liz Hurley, Jordan),

The fact you consider a plastic surgery catastrophe like Jordan as beautiful auto-proves ShanksD's argument. I would've accepted Kelly brook, or Gemma Arterton, or Cheryl Cole, but If Jordan is comparable to the ideal Californian beauty then your opinion of beauty is WAY different to mine

I do agree that a lot of inner city British girls let themselves go a bit (Too many fast food joints I reckon). However get yourself to the British countryside and you'll find some absolute stunners. I live in a market town with enough 9's and 10's to start up my own modelling agency.

I love my life

Anyway, Back to the models. I'm hearing about 2 new Ravager varients. The Rampage, and the Slaughter. Are these simply different weapon fits, like the predator Annihilator and destructor, or are they crazy badass new tanks like the Deathstrike was?

@plastictrees

haha, too true. I'm sure ladies around the world wait with baited breath to hear the geek crowd's opinion of them!

@johnstewartjohn

Yes, let's all grow up and start talking about toys again!

@JohnHwang

Hahaha, that was mean, but funny as hell!

@Leggy

You got me there. Not everyone likes the Pam Anderson look, but plastic surgery is so common here. For us to see a girl with cosmetic surgery is nothing to even bat an eye at, it's normal. But, Jordan is hot to me, no question.

As for actual Dark Eldar rumors, I can say with 100% certainty that the new Warrior models are bad ass. I can't say how I know this, but I do know it.

I have heard through the grapevine that the Wyches are wearing full body latex suits as well.

I can't wait for this book. A race that says, yup, the galaxy is gong to hell. But you know what? feth it. We're gonna rock out and go down in a blaze of hedonistic glory! I like that!

Three words.

Tell you what: you stay with your ascetic Homoerotic superhuman monks and we'll worry about the "sexy" minis.

The less faction-unique armour they're wearing, the easier they'll be to convert for use elsewhere. If the plastic Wyches are all female and don't look like ass, I'll be buying some to convert into Eschers, or maybe even Repentia.

Fixed that for you.

Alpharius will destroy this thread... (unless he has already suffered a fatal aneurysm)

In other news, I know I could probably just look this up... but when is GD UK? Are there anyother events in which more DE info may be officially announced on-or-around that date and has anyone gotten any emails like from the Daemons Wave stuff (I have not, but I'm on the US side of things)

She has a face? I didn't initially notice...however once you pointed it out I was impressed she still had all her teeth hehe.

Initially I was disapointed this was so far OT....then the pics cheered me up hehe.

Please lets stay on topic.

I look forward to seeing the first sprues and rules. I hope that the codex will allow for multiple competitive army designs. I am liking that GW allowed all the recent codexes from being on trick ponies.

Do you mean that they were not one trick ponies, please,
Adeptus?

From what I understood of the old codex, sorry, current codex, there are various ways to run Dark Eldar.
From the few games I have had this boils down to a poor Wych run army, or a poor Warrior run army.
(Accepted that the general is pee poor )

I also found that the speed thing, rapid fire is in the fluff more than the game play. If they can do like you say and address these issues I will be happy.

Now On-Topic . . . Dark Eldar announced at Games Day . . . why can't I afford to go? ='[

I would love to be able to see those models, and get them posted up here for you guys. But sadly I will have to wait for internet news like everyone else.

Sadly I currently own over 3000 points of Dark Eldar and don't need much more. But the opportunity to create an all female army of murderous and sexy psycho women? Yes please!
