I remember someone posting this and suggesting that there was a hellion in the image, below and behind the raider. Then it was realised to be a warrior/similar jumping off. Well, I'd like to point out that there is in fact a hellion in the image, a few inches to the left of the "dropping warrior":

It was me who suggested this a time ago, and I was thinking of the surfer in front of the second Raider on the left.
I also suggested that the Dark Eldar in front with the cc weapons might be the new Wyches or Mandrakes.

Really impressive first wave of models from the sounds of things, I'm not interested in playing DE but I am looking forward to seeing the Wyches, Raider and Hellions. Wyches could be good for starting an Escher gang, the Hellions I'm hoping could be used to make some Green Goblin style Stormboyz and I've just always liked the Raider.

Just a shot in the dark here, but an idea:

Hellions arent the most common unit, so a plastic set for them seems weird (not going to go against whats been said, i trust it)

You would think bikes would also be confirmed 100% as common as they are (and out-dated)


Whats the odds you get the parts in said box to make 3 hellions or 3 jetbikes?

Or has it been confirmed to be just a hellion box?

I expect we'll be seeing quite a few people mixing and matching wych parts into their daemonettes, too. Since Slaanesh is the eldar's creation, it's even fluffy for them to have a family resemblance!

Finding the older sculpts (last edition ones) are near impossible.
Seekers are even harder to find, and generally sell for around the same price as a new box each lol.

Im thinking DE wych on one of the new cold ones - instant seeker.

not that there was much doubt but looks like a Hellion to me

Glad the Harlequins are going to be in the codex, as the fluff makes them a very interesting outfit imho and would be very tempted to get some.

On the Subject, I hope that is what the new Raiders Look like, I need them for my Space Pierats.

This is also what I'm hoping for. I'm mightily sick of converting witch elves and sculpting another boob onto plastic daemonettes, and the current seekers don't do it for me.

hmm yon wyches may even do as 'handmaidens of khorne' rather than have to convert demonettes to khorne followers... *does mr burns pose* excellent...

If GW keeps up its history of making units that were unpopular because of crap models/rules powerful in order to sell plastic kits, I expect Hellions to get quite a boost.

Which is good, because I could never figure out what the point of them was. They weren't quite a Scourge and they weren't quite a jetbike, but occupied some strange place in the 'twain.

I'm very sorry to all dark Eldar players here, but if your rumours are wrong (which there is only a tiny chance) and DE don't get more mini's very soon, i think GW should scrap 'em all together

I still think that I'm buying only the codex, and if any release is limited, I would probably buy it too. But I won't replace my minis. I'll make my army bigger with time. I'm not making a compulsive shopping.

According to the last thread, the official announcement of the new Dark Eldar will be at the UK GD.

I just want to know whether the Wyches will be a 100% female sprue, so I know whether I want to buy them or not.

I think UK GD is taking place during the last week of September this year.

But now that it is september won't we hear in a news letter

There's a difference between giving something a boost, and thinking that you're giving something a boost.

ahh it warms the heart to see this thread. After seeing all the new, sexy special characters all the 5th edition book are getting, I can't wait to see what new special characters there will be! The rumour of new plastic hellions has got me giddy as I love hellions dearly but have never wanted to use them. Fingers crossed that some rule fixes will help.

I wonder if they'll get rid of all the combat drugs for wyches and upgrades. If so I'll miss overdosing on triple ones very much.

Are there actually any old sculpts of Dark Eldar that one would opt to use instead of the new ones? Just curious if it is worth bying anything on ebay for Dark Eldar or is it better to wait till new things are reaeased.

For me, they look much more interesting than the old sculpts.

Well we don't know yet, as no one's seen the new ones.

But once the new ones are out, the old ones will be gone, so if there are any you want, get them now.

Haven't seen any new ones yet, but the Incubi aren't bad models. Also, concerning GW's usual pricing habits, I wouldn't be surprised if the price looks something like 25-30% greater for the same amount of New!Incubi (provided there are any) as the old ones, so you wouldn't be losing much in that exchange money-wise. Of course, Incubi equipment could drastically change, which would be a good way for GW to discourage buying older models for cheaper (one of the things I'm, personally, thinking they'll do so that everyone who bought DEldar when they were $5-$10 less per-kit than other armies will suddenly find themselves buying new stuff and making up for their savings).

SX poison doesn't look quite right to me, as I'm having trouble thinking of many weapons besides Snipers that still work in such a fashion. Maybe a mean to prevent use against light vehicles (no more Splinter Cannon-spam gibbing light speeders / transports)?

Wonder how many things are going to drastically change, though. Combat drugs I expect will be one of a few things:
1) Random bonus determined ALA Possessed at the start of the game.
2) Set bonus' to the statline or a special rule (Ex: "All Dark Eldar with Combat Drugs gain the Furious Charge special rule" or something like that).
3) Gone / Special Character-only.
4) Still get to pick what it does (Yes, I do think this is less likely to happen than them being dropped overall / for a special character only).

Other things I'm interested in seeing is all the Leadership-bomb weaponry, how they'll manage to keep the Shadow Field at once useful and not overpowered, what's happening to stuff like Wych Weapons and the special Helms, and so on.

I really hope they don't make the Poison Weapons SX. They did that Twice, and both times they have had to errata it.

Yeah for some reason people love showing the DE art from the rulebook... But they always neglect that beautiful picture spread of The Port of Lost Souls, Gateway to Commorragh, which is by far the best DE piece to date, imo. Looks like a creepy underwater cave.

"People" post that pic from the rulebook, because it shows GW's current 5th edition view on Dark Eldar and I am certain, reveals the design of the new Raider, Warrior, Hellion and Wych/Mandrake. The Commorragh pic is fine, but doesn't reveal anything from the new miniature range.

For the satisfaction we get from explanations of the new warriors, it might as well be a depiction from the current range.
We all know DE are coming. But without pics, we can only get so excited.
