In a large 1850 point match of me and two guard armies allied against one space marine player. A Dreadnought deep strikes next on our left flank, in that turn it shot apart most of a heavy weapons squad. The space marine player plotted to have his Dreadnought cut a swathe through the guards gun-line, while the guard player to get his veteran squad with melta bombs to catch the Dreadnought player by surprise.
A thunderfire cannon destroys the entire meltabomb veteran squad apart from one who runs off screaming. The Dreadnought proceeds to charge a guard squad. The Dreadnought got stuck in that combat with the guards for the entire game, the guards were unable to hurt it but refused to flee.
In the same game he heroically had his rhino charge into my Devilfish, the rhino smashed into the devilfish, only to have its storm bolter fall off and the Devilfish to fly over it next turn. My guard allies lost a lot in that game, but I didn't lose a single Tau unit.
I once destroyed two full tactical squads with Shadowsun, with only one wound.
First turn that O'Shaserra got into range, I shot both FB at the first Tac squad, Insta-killing 2, then assaulted, and O'Shaserra killed 4 marines (perfect rolls) and one of her drones killed a marine. 8 dead total. The other two fled off the field.
I then preceded to JSJ the second squad to pieces, and ended up with one wound from a bolter shot, and, through luck, two of them died on their own, as both the sergeant and the spec. weapons trooper had plasma.
So, a while back I had a game vs. BA. My Archon gets stuck out in the open with his Incubi bodyguard after wiping out a whole assault squad a little too quickly. Pumped, my opponent moves up his Land Raider Crusader full of assault marines complete with chaplain and priest, disembarks shoots and assaults, getting both the chaplain and the priest into base to base with the Archon.
My Archon's loaded out with a Huskblade, Soul Trap, Shadowfield and PGL but my opponent figures Furious Charge, Power Weapons, Invulnerable saves and the like will be enough, particularly after the initial hand flamer bombardment takes down a few of the Incubi.
The Archon personally deals with both the chaplain and the priest turn 1. The rest of the marines practically evaporate by the second round of assault in my turn.
Pissed, my opponent declares tank shock with the Land Raider. You can probably see what's coming at this point.
I declare Death or Glory with the Archon. Morale test succeeds, 5 to penetrate, 6 on the damage chart.
