Depends on your personal definition of what makes a custom chapter. If that means you design your own completely independent freehand logo and chapter markings and upload them to the game, then no. If you mean whether you can choose from the dozens of already existing chapter specific markings and the selection of generic SM and 40k ones along with complete color customization of each armor piece with two to three armor colors (including split and quartered armor paint schemes), then yes.

Got my Pre-order in today (Gamestop, loyalist pack). I hope it has split screen co-op. Makes the game a more social experience IMO.

The guy working the demo at gencon said they would be revealing co-op this week. Everything else he said was pretty much known, like that its 30 day dlc and 5 person.

Well yeah. People are itching for the reveal as to whether we're getting DOWII styled coop, or if we're just getting another Red Faction: Armageddon where the only online cooperative play is an Infestation/Hordes mode.

Campaign coop is important to a great many of us. We're already irked that Kill-Team didn't feature Online Coop, considering many of us here on Dakka would love to be playing that cooperatively but have an ocean separating us. Couch coop is nice and all, but it's kinda silly to have restricted it like that all things considered.

Not trying to be confrontational or anything, just saying. We want to experience the story with our friends here. As fun as mindlessly blasting hordes of Orks is, it'd be a bit better to be blasting Orks whilst experiencing a story.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this.

Honestly as much as I was wanting this game I won't be preordering it and maybe won't buy it for some time since playing their demo and getting the run around yesterday. I don't like it much when so close to a release we don't even know what the co-op is going to be. It seems like if it was something they thought would be good they would have announced it before.

As much as I want this game to be great and as much as I want to play this game I'm not too excited anymore. I didn't much like the controls either. (Played on a PS3) while the graphics where great, switching between shooting and melee was all that fluid. I would find myself either shooting or doing melee not switchin between the 2 since the face buttons are melee so you have to take your finger off the joystick often missing the intended target as the move right after you try to swing.

Those are my gripes with the demo. I did enjoy it but not sure if I'm going to buy it when it releases. And I'm apprehensive of using a mouse and keyboard. It was definitely optimized for a controller.

... so close to release? We still have a friggin' month to go.

They reveal a little bit at a time instead of revealing everything at once.
