Hey guys can I'm going to enter Marneus Calgar and Honour for the squad category, and the standard bearer and Marneus himself into the single mini category. 1st update will go without pics i'm afraid, but i've got work done on the standard bearer (base colours and highlights) and the 1st honour guard is nearing completeion. Thanks!

Sounds like a plan, but you will have to choose either a squad or up to 2 single miniatures.

And a WIP for my entry after some more plasticard work.

Also, that's my 100th Dakka gallery image. Wow, that's a lot of stuffs. I do love clogging up dakka's servers. Hehehe

I'm gonna say go for the 1 painting thread and 1 modelling thread. Any more splits it up further and makes more headache.

@Unluckyguardsman oh ok right, so I can't enter both? Just either 2 single minis or a squad for marneus and co.?

I'm in! Unfortunately, i have an issue. I'm currently with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan, and we dont always have internet out here.
So, if anyone has issues with the possibilty of me possibly not being able to update weekly with few pictures, I will gladly step down and be everyones cheerleader!

My idea is 2 ThunderWolf Lords using the new mournhold cavalry steeds, greenstuffing them to look wolfy (they come halfway there lol)
One will be a wolf claw-storm shield rider, the other a chainfist or thunder hammer with a bolter.

Well, I for one think that the weekly updates was more to generate commitment, not to exclude people who lack the ability to do so. Fine by me (not that I make the discisions )

That sounds like an ambitious project! If it turns out okay, I might have to use it for my SW army! Best of luck!

Are those the normal Scourge wings? I don't think I've seen ones attached to the arms before. Looks pretty sweet!

Unluckyguardsman wrote:And a WIP for my entry after some more plasticard work.

Do you have any vehicle bits around? I think a grab bar would look better than the strap for the riot shield handle. I have one you could have if you're interested and your bits box lets you down

The small outstretched wings on the leader are from some high elf helmet or banner.
Two of the others are from Snaguinary Guards.
The ones on the middle one on the left side are from a Scourge, but completely cut up and remodelled to "fit" the arms

at speedfreak... those imperial legs will be a nice twist to see on dark eldar... i am most intrigued^^

and i second rawsons idea of the riotshield to switch the handle...or if you feel like it a snake of GS would certainly do the trick... or if you have some thin round sprue then this could help... you even could melt it a tad and then stretch it a bit to make it thinner...plastic glue could soften by the way the sprue too...

Wow this thread blew up!! Guys, everything here is looking so good! Lips i love your banner, really just superb work man Vik, totally steampunk and creative. Cant wait to see it further down the road! Rawson, as usual, clean crisp and creative. To all the others i didnt mention, im thoroughly excited to see whats in store Here are my next WIP pics. Im about 80% done with the ice blue/white fatigues. Still areas where more white is needed. In time. Also, I need to the gloves and the straps around his face. His face also needs a little work. Clean up. No prob. This mini, is actually really challenging for me. Painting all white...its kinda new...i think ive veered back on track and im liking the progress. Mostly the challenge here for melies in the patience of basically painting only two colors. And since its white, its slow going to get a smooth blend. I like the freehand icon on his shoulder. Its obviously really tiny but despite maybe a stroke or two needed to clean up...its pretty cool. Same with the little light on the back of his helmet. Its nice for its stage i think, it needs to be blended a little smoother at the edges back into the armor color. Also no prob. Anyways enough blabbing heres more of my tundra cadian

That painting's looking awesome, bebopdrums. Very nice blending. The red skull is well painted, but at first when I looked at it I thought it was an evil muffin.

evil muffin^^ lol....that should so totally be written on his base^^

the ice effect on the clothes looks super! will the gun be painted in the same fashion as the carpace is? and a red lamp is on the back of his helemt? any one know what this is for? a fluffy reason? other than that it is a clear aim for any commissar to make a final argument being pointed out?

thanks and...
it ... kinda ... does... look like an evil muffin. =_= LOL, now i have to edit it a lil so it no longer looks like my breakfast from coffee bean. LOL.

@ Vik...thank you sir, The gun will be like the carapace armor. Yes. And no to the evil muffin on his base and...the light...i dunno...it just...wanted to be a light. Its more the sake of the mini's composition than it serving a purpose. Maybe its a battery pack that keeps all the comm links in the helmet active. i dunno. i just wanted it to be a light LOL.

Awesome looking guardsman Bebopdrums. Also, I am eager to see the Bannerman finished Lipsadips. To use a term I have learned from local younglings, both yall's entries are looking quite "legit"

Haha, you're welcome, on the praise. As to the muffin, I agree with Vik that he'll always be our evil muffin But I don't think it'll take much to fix either. Just a little extra definition. Maybe some cheekbones or something.

Re the question on Voting - I agree that one for modelling and one for painting is best.

My update this week is sans pictures for now. I have been building an entire army (1500 footslogging guard) which is nearly finished for 2 games I have booked tomorrow...

When it's done I will be getting on with painting those vets.

Good luck y'all.

@bebopdrums- I love the guardsman. The tundra concept for the clothing is going well, and yours is the first time ive seen white turn out white. Whenever i or my friends try it just seems to turn a "bleh" color. Question, though. What color is the skull on his helmet going to be, or are you going to keep it the same as the helmet?

@lips- Amazing, phenominal, and awesome job on that banner!

@speed- I love the wings on your guys, cant wait to see how they turn out!

@ everyone else- I have my bitz and pieces being sent to me this weekend, so i should begin officially updating my entry in the next week and a half or two. Cant wait to get back into this, its been a while lol
