fur addition looks very good!

as for the wood... for me... a good way would be:

thy to get an uneven surface first... maybe scratch the surface or rough it up by sandingpaper or heck you could do it like me... i added on my boiler some PVA coates and before completly drying brushed over that with a brush and crested thus some finer lines... after that basecoated with dehneb stone...and then i added a thick layer of devlan mud till you get a nice and uneven wooden color...

hope i could help...this methode is of course easier to be done on bigger scale surfaces but i think with a bit of thinking and carful painting this might work on your stocks too...

cheers, vik

Awesome rifles! Perfect size!
@ Vik...WTF? Weapons too big for 40k??? You must be feverish with your cold. If you start saying such nonsense as "that thing has too many rivets" then I'll call the ambulance for you!

Hey guys, today on a trip to pick up hay for the chickens we got i came across a bottle of simple green and had to pick it up, but the instructions are very confusing if any of you have used simple green to strip models/tanks could you please lend a hand with some intructions or measurements

Cheers

It all depends on the size of the bottle and type of simple green you purchased as well as the model/s you're trying to strip.

If its concentrated, then you can add water to dilute it a bit, but not too much. Like 70/30.

First the model, then you'll need the container for holding the simple green + model. The container will tell you how much solution you need. Then you'll wait a week or two.

@hmelrose - the are really good and the painting scheme goes well , and the conversions especially with the weapons are smashing !!!

@Vik i would of loved to keep the stooks except the lenght of them were just a bit to big for guard arms :9 so i had to cut them down which was really unfortunate :(

But today i picked up a halftrack from my local game store which being the first of their versions of it came with two sprues with mg42s and kar98s i am most pleased

after having problems with balancing issise with my first valk i put something heavy in the nose

and my brother decidced to give my little brother a baneblade *shakes hand high * so i had to build it for him ...alas it is a beautiful tank
but working out the tracks and the track mounts drove me mad for a bit

lol... that is quite a heavy armed family with two banebaldes/shadowswords in the family!

basilisk is looking promising and the new tanks... well i am eager to see some paint on them^^

the baneblade is one of the few tanks that comes with enough rivets as is...^^ and that is saying a lot from me^^

happy new year mate!

hello mate! that has been quite some time since your last update!

your cyborg servitors conversion look very promising...something i till follow closley, some day i have to come up with a solution to the whole techpriest issue myself too and i am atm not willing to chuck too much €s around for three or for minis...

i have to say that the last pics of your conversions regarding the mix of pistoliers and adian/catachans are looking atm a bit akward to me...are you planning to add fur like you did on the others? that could help tie in the big differencies of some arms...the one conversion of laspistol and flintlock looks sorry...i have to say it...terrible...the handle of the pistol and then the main body of the lasgun...for me it is not working...i´d rather used the pistol and had added some wires and stuff maybe a powercell and call it an old laspistol...

hope i didn´t ruin you something there... i just say this as i think you have done so well with all your other conversions...specially now that i had to rescroll through the recent posts of yours and saw that vetsquad painted with all those AK rifles...very cool looking bunch!

cheers, vik

@vik No thank you , thats why i joined dakka and posted up here so i could get valued criticism and input, and after a bit of looking at his left hand i agree the laspistol doesnt mix , and yes he will be fur-i-fied just once i find my green stuff i misplaced last night after working late into the night finishing my servitors

heres my second one
front

and back

the wires are actually the staples that held the plastic blister together that the arms and legs came in

and even added servitory bits ...

and the others

and even a bit of bioshockieness servitor

and they dual tool servitor

more to come soon
