the shcme of your grey lady is looking really good... though i can´t overlook some sections that might need your attention... the barrel is sporting one hell of a gap there...maybe use some filler or file it even... will then look much better that way... also i would suggest using some sort of masking to get the regimental colors starighter... those red lines...i know they are a pain to get right but again you will feel better after you fixed that...

will be interrested to see how the magnetised lascanons will look once painted and mounted...!

cheers, vik

oh and those brass rivets look very cool to the grey main color on your grey lady!!!

Cool, I did the exact same thing with my Valk/Vendetta, except I made the Vendetta's 4 cannons all mount on the nose and sides of nose.

hahaha yes it would be a Glourious battle with many a cat clawing heheheheh well guys got all friday to paint and post pics, ive added fur to my spec weapons squad their sportin two plasma guns and a flamer...you know just to mix up things a bit, my rpg team has just got a the washes and highlight the fur to go, my sentinel is pretty much done i found two spare metla gunners so i might do some heavy converting to make them fit in with my vostroyan squad 's

and my lord commissar is coming along nicely, except the scars on his face ....their not doing what i tell them , and i found my second basilisk...it is very badly painted...shes very old, shes fought her fare share of battles , all i need to do is seal of the hull with new top hatches and get some simple green and a bucket and a week or two and she'll be good as new.

Until tomorrow goodnight

thanks, those heavy weapons teams took quite a bit ....i had to shape the paddle pop stick lenghts individually by hand with a old pair of cutters .

your Hvy weapons teams look great !! can i ask what did you make the sandbags out of ??? ive been using greenstuff for little bits here and there ??? urs loook great ??

the stuff i used is called FIMO...it is a putty of some sort you have to sculpt and then bake in the oven for about an hour or so and then it gets plasitc like... sometimes a bit brittle but i like it... for sandbags the best choice... and i have a mass of this stuff lying around... and you can work for days on one piece as it doens´t cure on the air...which is a blessing when you sometimes get disturbed due to kids or other RL things....

after some thought on how i wanted to theme my army i looked into alternative transport for my men, and what striked me as well fitting to replace the GW chimera in my army was the BMP-3, nice price, amphibious ...which is a plus.

as it seems fitting to include one in my russian themed vostroyan army ?? thoughts and querys??

and ...if a bit obvious a replacement for my Armys Valkyries

with the right additions to the models both choices of yours would be good to add that russian flavor ...the BMP is always a good stand in choice for the chimera in my opinion...and if choosen in a good scale is more likley in my opinion to look fitting than all those way too tiny stuff from GW... will you buy a kit for the BMP or will you attempt a scratchbuilt? the shape is rather inviting to do so... also wheels will be likley easy to make out of lego wheels if you ask me...there are some that dont like that shape, but for me it is a good way to built upon...

ahhh nice, sorry for such a late reply, its been very quiet over here on the western front , just came back from a week holiday, and the painting continues.

also some riveting but it is a slow process with a thin metal rod :S ill get there.

also i played my first game with my nearly completed vostroyans, a 2000 point game agaisnt grey knights, pitched battle, objectives, heedless to say my vostroyans clawed out a victory last turn with the stormtroopers running in all guns blazing securing and holding a objective through mine and his last turn 6, wining me the game 2/1 in objectives glourious honors for my men

cool...winning over GK is a nice feat!

also i think we have a very worthy conestant for the leaque... making rivets from a metal rod... now that is what i call heavy metall riveting!!!

I'm going to disagree with Vik on the sandbag topic, IMHO Air-dry clay is the best thing for sandbags, no baking required, and they shrink a little bit when dried, but real sandbags settle in the rain too. Price-wise it is cheaper than FIMO too, I bought 10 pounds of air-dry for $5.

yeah well... once i was very enthusiastic about the use of FIMO and when there was a sale for such things at our local hardware store (they have a fiddly section for the wifes that get dragged along with their hubbies...^^) and each package was only for 1 €...so it was quite a bargain^^... airdryclay is a bit difficult to handle ... if you aply after drying the paint just...then you could soften the clay again... happened to me just that day today... :(

aharg i have returned from my wanderings up in coffs, fun times had, now i return with a small little bounty, my hobby shop being short of plasticard rods of anykind i went with the only ones left MEtal ones truely hard core here are the wip pics so for, *just a note they are completly cut down yet and i had to cut them quickly as super glue dries reallllyy fasstt !!!!

some of the bend slightly but after some work with a good file they should look terrific

and some work on the turret

this is my work so far, but now that i have a bit more spare time i shall prevail....and mayby even find some simple green nearby!!

the rivets indeed show your dedication! man what a hardcore kind of work you did there... i really like that you used alternative materials to fullfil the task at hand! highly commendable!

and it does look very cool! specially the turret now is shaping up very well!

now i hope the filing will work out to your liking!

hope to see more of your work soon!
