ahargh here be the melta vet squad

The squad banner bearer, got this idea after seeing a randon conversion for a guardsmen on google

a bit of tidying up is warrented as they are my favourite painted models...being all reuses from former cuardsmen :S

the squad vox, i repleaced the broken aireal with a metal pin

a paint job on the face, skull ish ...im not sure how to paint the helmets

the leman russes stripped to the base some other paints showing through

the grey ladys sister, i havent thought of a name yet

a hieght comparison with the armoured compartment

after taking some battle damage...my brother kncoking over a bottle knocking off the right armour plate

Marbo conversion though i think he needs alot of work..i dont really like him looking like a marbo .....i think he looks like a creed ...i dont know your opinions

lol...yep, he looks a bit like a more brute version of creed...

as for the helmets...well i probably would leave them black...just some details like rivets on those helmets done with metal and you are set...

too bad that the "big berta" didn´t survive the crash... but i am confident that you can reglue it!

that standard bearer conversion is nice and gives a bit of asian feel to the squad...

When I made an armor cover for my basilisk, I placed some interior support walls (bulkheads) to help make it sturdy, I would say that you may have the opportunity to do such now.

I also recommend some exterior details to make the things a bit more realistic, as the present is showing a blind cannon and crew. It does not have be a huge amount of mods, but just a few to at least a WW-1/WW-2 level of vision blocks, maybe some hatches, or armor slide plates to give the impression that the crew has ways to reference for targets.

My most basic attempt
[/img]

My more clean attempt
[/img]

[/img]

Mine are up high, but you get the idea
[/img]

That basi of yours screams so much potential for more details on that armor compartment, I felt I had to add suggestions!

Cool with the flash worked one I have light shed, if you have the hatches left over from any tank(command), you can mine sitting atop the box, I should have taken a pic of the very top, i had spare vents left from a landspeeder for gas and pressure venting as well.

hey guys and i return after much work to buy some more awesome models, after rifling through my game stores wide range of alternate mini's i found the model which i wanted to use for my preist

after much thinkering, i have decided to add EXTRA BEARD and stuff, im also going to add fur onto his shoulders, not to much doing a V onto his chest.....either that or a Book, and even doing something to his right shoulder pad.

and then i came across the warmachine stuff for Khador... and OMG they are very vostroyan, i came across a pack of Widowmakers...for only 26$ australian dollars which is pretty cheap, for four metal models its really good price

and yes i have the first female vostroyan for my army !!

im gonna do a command squad with four snipers, and a pysker battle squad to go along side it, minus the ld by 9 they hit them with 4 sniper rifles!!!!!!!!

and then i am found these mechanics...and i was like........with a little bit of conversion work....i could pull off a tech priest and five servitors(and they all have wrench's

(the one with the hammer is the crew chief any suggestions with mech-ifing??)

and gloriously i now have RED SPRAYPAINT for my vostroyans, so i shall be paint squad two up very soon !!

also i have put a order in for the two vostroyan snipers!! really loving what rawson did with bis marbo conversion!!

cool minis.... those khador are sure a very good additions to your forces... i really like warmachine stuff... if it was a bit cheaper and more often on ebay i would have a ton of these too.... and specially the snipers are a very good addition to your forces!!

as for the servitor squad... looking very promising...but sadly i have atm no helpful ideas at the ready... tho i think these bear a great potential to be good servitors...

cheers, vik

Great work.

I think the easiest thing to do for those Khador mechanics would be leg swaps. Cut the leg and replace it with a claw, a cross section of sprue and some plasticard tube. If you have any addition bits you can give him a gun leg.

If you have a hack saw then you could carve off an arm and do an arm swap.

Attach mechanical stuff to the back pack. servo arm or weapon attachments.

Use the hack saw and take a quarter off the top left of the head and fill it with green stuff and stick a plastic targeter bit from a terminator into the GS.

Servo them up!

im back with alot of photos of my work, ive been very busy with work and life, fixing up the front of the house.... gardening the worst part of life

here is the goods vostroyan goodness

greenstuffing snipers

the mechanic, but after working on him i gave up on the claw... didn't work out

but i kept the pistol holder

box ful of goods ready to be sparyed

models sprayed

and the spray that did it all

and my stand in priest

my marbo model, his Fang (commissar power sword arm)

and after much consideration my next army will be Crimson fists, to be bought peice meal and here is Kantor for you all

if you had just thinned the servo arm this could have truly looked good! i think with a piece of PC you are spot on...

marbo is looking quite dangerous!

and i do like the priest! with the khorne CS he is looking very good...only donpart is the just glued on pumpgun...some strap or other means for having it put there would be nice!

cheers, vik

Sorry everyone lifes been a miserable bugger and is taking all my time up :( but alas their shall be more coming, ive started painting the men of the second vostroyan squad both baneblades and my sentinel has been sprayed painted and washed but still needs a few touch ups.

marbo is coming along great using earthy tones on his cape to shake things up, ps i love gws washes, they are the greatest things ive ever used :O. ive also givin in to the temptation of buying Pedro kantor and a squad of sternguard as my LGS is having a 20% off finecast i picked them up at a cheap price i shall try to get pictures posted up in the next few days

and a question for all those who can build awesome terrain, i have gw building ruins(partially destroyed stuff and random bits and peices) and i am trying to find a base for them, something that isnt to thick but can stand up to the rigours of 40king??, other than really thin wood i cant think of anything else ?? Help would be appreciated !!

Cheers,

and i return, its been very difficult few weeks with work losing quiet a few people and having to pull extra night shifts...taking up valuable painting time :O but ive managed to paint up my marbo and even have a small game, in which he fell over a chipped paint off his sword :O !!.

now here's marbo, though i havent done any base detail yet !

the one thing i didnt notice till after a painted him was the mould line on the cape :(

the warmachine "widow maker" wip

I've done some work of my Mechanic tech Priest, finished his beard and doing some brown painting, also ive looked into getting a pysker for my army ending up buying "Fiona the black" which is a warcaster in a pysker pose for my primas pykser, unfortunatly in her first game also her left leg broke just about her high heels :S so pinning will have to be done :(

hopefully ill get hte next few days off so i can paint up my other squad of vostroyan squad

and my baneblades are undercoated

wow...the marbo mini looks evry good...a vibrating steampunk feel i get from that composition...the copper/brass mix is very cool... shame about the moldline...maybe you could fix it still, if you dont want to file it off...you might also consider to GS it away?

the still mostly red guy reminds me somehow of hellboy...maybe it is all the redness...but that belly sure does work for that association too^^

and the two baneblades (holy 2!!!) look very good already even if there is no detail painted at all^^

and i cross fingers for your joblife to be stable and ongoing! something that isn´t too sure these days all over the world it seems...

cheers, vik

So after much job hunting i am finally able to calm down after getting my new job and the money has started to flow i am able to take some time to build and start painting again and get back into the hobby.

i have to show my second vostroyan squad under coated red and in process of being painted, my WIP vandetta, my painted new sentinel, My New hydra flak thanks to Max mini and news about the fleet!

so these guys have a alot of work to be done on them, so much painting to do !
and then my Vandetta

i did the doors closed to give the vandetta the look of diving in to strike at enemy armour

the hydra flak

i still have to extend the bottem back a bit and put some detail there

and the sentinel with Autocannon and hunter killer missle, hopefully to be accompanied with another two for tank hunting duty

and i recently purchased two cobra destroyers for Battle Fleet Gothic to start my own Vostroyan Fleet to accompany my Army so it can make very interesting battle scenarios, Battle in space and then then the winner gets extra points in the 40k game

Thanks for the welcome back Vik !! cheers!

and Stein hopefully ill be able to start on them soon i just need to find a really good brown/dark green to do the large scale camo pattern over and then it will be time to do that thing well all love best...painting RIVETS

i sat down today during my lull of running around and got into the painting spriit and managed to get the basic paint job down on 4 vostroyans of squad two, i decided to change the hat colours to help separate which squad was which during battle, i used one of the new gw paints ... stormraven fur i think it is called with a devlan mud wash..... all thats left to do is the fine stuff like grenades pouchs and fixed any paint that is were it shouldnt be and then basing them but ill hold this off till the rest of the squad is all basiclly painted the same!

unfortunatly my camera wasnt working for me when i took the sarges pick

i might do a light brown or bone dry brush highlight on their fur hats :S not sure yet

and the fourth guys photo i took WAS shocking not even focused so ill include him in the next bunch that i get to paint up

Cheers Zek (ps Stein i cant wait either for them to be all painted up )
