@ FM Ninja - That looks like a modern render of the original Warlords from Adeptus Titanicus. The Beetleback design, I believe they're known as.

Tom, the way it reads to me at least is that FW's sculptors have no real interest in doing Mark 8's stuff, not that they believe there is no interest in it.

Similar story for Iron Hands but less so. As for Mk VIII armour, the Errent pattern... No real interest I'm afraid. Maybe if their is enough demand for it, but designers are doubtful it would be different enough from the plastic kits to be worth doing.

Lol Kan... contradictory to the last!

There are also stirings within the studio for doing Chapter specific Contermptors, similar to their current range of Dreadnoughts. Nothing officially started yet, but it is something various designers said they wanted to work on.

That's kind of what I based my statement on Tom. When you put it into context like that, it reads far more in line with FW's stance on things.

What's this Iron Hands thing that they are alluding to?

I'm assuming they are meaning to say they'd like to do something, but probably aren't going to.

FWIW: FW get on the Mk. 8, the people demand it.

To make it a tad more unique, I think it would work if they included the gorget, but angled the rest of the armour in a kind of square shape like the DC torso. (one the legs, knees, arms, etc.)

Ah ok, I guess it could be taken both ways. The key point I would think though is the 'if there is enough demand for it' part... time to start a grass roots campaign!

Only if you join my grass roots campaign for a "Black Crusade" Imperial Armour volume! I wasn't trying to pick a fight or anything there Tom, y'know that. It's why I went back and edited to make it clear it was my opinion!

MoD:
The "Iron Hands thing" is the FW rep speaking, saying that the designers want to do something related to the Iron Hands.
Most of FW's projects are done by the designers as a "This would be cool!" idea, rather than "Dave! Do this! Dave do that!".

MKVIII is the best armor ever... and I would buy many, many, many of them!

Also, FW want to do "Knight Titans"?

What does Platuan4th think about that?

I think if they believe the Mk8 isn't interesting enough, they're looking too much at how GW's studio staff has portrayed them with Grey Knights and Sgts. as opposed to Jes Goodwyn's original concept art:

Beside the standard armor on the torso and the neck guard:
-armor over the exhaust vents on the backpack
-a seemingly different slope to the shoulder pad
-the helmet has protection for the earpieces
-That isn't a powerfist, thats just how the arms are armored
-pointed teardrop knee pads
-a seemingly more armored yet flexible looking ankle servo

Its loaded with mouthfuls of awesome!!!

Awesome that DE are getting some love now and that they have designers actually wanting to work on them. Its no surprise their test results don't mesh with real world experience though, I've always thought their game testers take a less serious approach to list building then the mathhammer tuned lists seen here.

I will sell ALL my FW if they actually call them that, because they're not Titans.

The Beetlebacks are the Mars pattern. The Epic Warlord currently available is Lucius Pattern. The Epic range is really strange. They have Mars pattern Reavers and Warhounds, but Lucius pattern Warlords. You have to go to FW if you want Lucius pattern Warhounds, and there's currently no Lucius pattern Reavers. (wonders if there is a Lucius Reaver in the fluff???)
