Rofl, Its why I post here to give something back because I look at other peoples work and take bits I like then combine it into my own work. I'm sure you have added your own twist too it or done it better knowing your work.

I would be very interested to see how you have done yours

@Paradigm - hiii ...so, I decided to change my entry again...more OP-editing work for you again, sorry!

Anyway, I decided to try getting into the spirit of things, instead of going with that big stinky nurgly forgefiend ...so I had a go at some minor greenstuff work on a runtherd I had sitting around, gave him a santa hat, a big bushy beard, a fluffy strip down his chest (kinda hidden by the beard in hindsight), and gave the squighound a nose and antlers ...it didn't turn out too bad, but I'm definitely no master sculptor! ...also, wow the white primer is not being kind...hopefully it'll look better with some paint on it...

Proof:

...it's good to be green!

Out of curiosity, what model Chimera is that? The turret seems a bit higher and more centered than the current plastic one.

It's the old (and long OOP) FW wrecked Chimera kit. The turret is the same as the FW autocannon turret you can buy normally, the Chimera seems to have been sculpted from the old plastic kit as a base, so maybe there's a slight difference in the turret mounting as well?

Oh, thank you. I was wondering because it looked interesting. A lot better than the plastic turret imo.

@ Zobo - Interesting you have gone with fur effect on the rim of the hat and bobble. It looks good. I didn't due to time and having to make 4 hats.
The beard looks good
One thing to consider is maybe adding fur to the top of the boots (I did that on last years but not this one since I need it to sit as far back as possible)
The squig antlers are fun

aww man! wish I'd thought of adding fur to the boots ...ah well, I think it'll work out ok without it, it's a little late to go adding more greenstuff onto it now anyway, as it's all colour-blocked already, just gotta add all the details/highlights/etc...here's a couple of wips:

Got my Cultists finished!

I had a question about the competition. Are we going to restart the points in 2017 (and crown a winner for 2016 - probably Januine?)

I also thought it would be fun in 2017 to have a "family photo" thread were everyone posts a group shot each of all their completed entries from the year. Could be a great motivator to get more people taking part!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

The competition’s birthday is in March, so that’s when we did the reset last year. That’s when I did my composite late year.

That kind of stuff will happen in March as the challenge is based on a 12 month/round cycle, this is round 10 of the current rotation.

I know last year someone set up a 'year in review' thread in P&M, I imagine someone else will this year (and if I don't see one, I'll do it if I remember!), that'd be the place for collecting the year's entries, but separate from the challenge for the above reason.

I didn't think I'd be able to enter this month, due to a combination of work, illness, and family commitments. Last Thursday was the first time I'd picked up a brush in December. I'm going to try to rush out a Blood Bowl orc or two. I took proof pics before starting them, and will upload them when I get a chance. I've so far put about an hour's work into them, and I'll have maybe another hour or two before the end of the month, so they'll be pretty much quick and dirty paint jobs, but hopefully I'll have something to enter.

It's been a crazy month. A really difficult one, actually, but if I survive the rest of it with a scrappily painted orc to show for it, I suppose that's something.

@Bottle - well that was about as subtle as a polka-dotted elephant

ehh...I suck at trying to come up with theme ideas...actually, it's kind of a shame that we're already doing an open theme this month...I feel like that'd be a good one for January, what with a lot of people getting random fancy new minis over the holidays an all...

ehh, nope, can't think of any decent topics right now sorry...all I can think about is my shiny new Vulkan and that FW salamanders character ven dread

...it's good to be green!

Hmm, ideas...

Back for Seconds. Either a wounded model getting back into the fray, or an e-bay rescue, refurbished for a new life.
I Want YOU. Across every model range, there are guys pointing. Stiff pose, arm out. Directing their ire or the attention of their fellows to something. Commanders, champions, spotters.
Fresh Start.
Light in the Dark.
Calling for Backup.
