No problem, ideally it'd need to be up by about mid-afternoon UK time tomorrow, but since I know to wait now I'll hold up so long as it's not massively late.

I's definitely not 2017 right now, managed to finish them a few days back but hadn't done the bases.

No need to delay the competition anymore, Para - long story short, I left the scroll thing on my Ethereal off the model so I could paint it separately and glue it on last thing; after tearing up the entirety of my newly arranged and cleaned room for the past half hour, I've been forced to conclude that the scroll, alongside the staff of a Librarian I was working on converting, have been lost.

I wouldn't be happy posting up the model when it's incomplete, so I'll be withdrawing from the competition. I'm pretty upset about it, but there's not much I can do this late in. Goes to prove why you should never ever let anyone touch your modelling stuff.

I've finished my orcs, I just need to take some photos of them. In the meantime, here's my extremely late proof pic!

And the final pics!

I think these might be the first Orcs I've entered in the monthly competition. Long overdue! To be honest, I'm just glad to have been able to get something done in time after the month I've had. They are the only bit of hobbying I've managed to do all month. I only started them a few days ago.

Well, my final entry ends up just being one model, that being the sponsor of the DBX Convict team, known only as "The Warden":

I feel like this guy turned out ok. There would have been a second model, one of the Thugs, but after I looked at the picture I just couldn't enter him (the camera was not kind to the mistakes and blemishes on the paintjob). I will post the picture in my personal P&M blog, but it's not good at all. The Dreadball minis are kind of fiddly, being in a somewhat smaller scale than GW models. They are cool, though; Mantic did a good job giving them plenty of character.

There's a lot of cool stuff being submitted, and a lot of it in these final hours. Looking forward to the voting!

Also Paradigm, could you update the proof pic to the one I posted I think on page 4 with the Dreadball minis?

Hey Para, model will be done by tonight, but it will be pretty late. If I post final pics early tomorrow morning, is that cool?
Thanks,

Really nice entry Modock. I really like the skin tones on the ork.. how did you do them?

Thanks mate!

OK, I used dark blue grey for base color, royal purple for shadows then buff first highlight and ivory for final highlight.
All paints are from Vallejo model color range.

I hope everyone had a good new year and this coming year will be god to you.

Thanks for the comments Mootlet, Modock and Zobo, I always look forward t the open challenge in Dec so I can do Santa Orks, I'm glad you were able to spot and work out what some of the little bits were meant to be (like the cork guns )

Welcome back to painting tombo, One of the benefits of doing these challenges is it makes you get some painting done and keep going, I look forward to seeing more from you, you are off to a very good restart.

Really good weathering on that tank Peregrine.

methebest, I like the white on the cape, its not just plain white but has some depth to it which is hard to do with white.

I'm glad you managed to get your entry done Feltmonkey, The Quarterback/thrower model is really nice, the little bit of check on his shoulder really brings the model together.

Good luck everyone

Thanks, guys. Happy new year to you both!

I kind of added bits of check to them all pretty much at random, MG. It's a pleasant surprise that one of them enhances the overall mini! There wasn't a lot of planning, beyond looking up the Gouged Eye colours and logo, and watching Duncan's video on the GW site. Love that Santorc's grotto, by the way. Bad Santa 3?
