I always buy BL novels in HC format when I can, I hate reading those mass market paperback format, too small for my eyes. Anyone know if they plan on releasing more HC version of already released novels, like The First Heretic for example.

That's a supremely nice and humbling thing to hear. Thanks very much, dude. Genuinely appreciated.

My non-BL stuff will mostly be fantasy rather than sci-fi, but yeah, I can't keep putting it off.

I'm sure you hear it a lot, but you are quite a talented author with a feel for what makes a character work.

Someone told me just now that you are writing a story for Axanar. Is that true? I had the impression that you hated Star Trek.

The last few HH books haven't been wonderful (Looking at you, Damnation of Suckos and *emotional* Scars). This sounds excellent!

Eh? Scars was quite good...especially compared to the likes of Deathfire, Vulkan Lives, Damnation...

"Taking the Pythos" more like, the worst HH 'novel' yet.

I never bothered finishing the Pythos audiobook but Fear to Tread made me put down BL books and not touch them again for almost a year before I finally forced myself to finish it.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Found this ranking of the HH novels on 4chan (doesn't include anthologies) and I mostly agree with it

If both Mechanicum (aka Mary Sue and her Amazing Friends Walk Up to a Dragon) and Nemesis (aka You Know How This Will End Why Are You Reading It?) are both in the good tier I shudder to think what the rest might be like!

Yes. yes they are.

You should never have trusted them in the first place, now it is too late, and they have taken control of everything you see.

They are the enemy within.

I'm guessing it will be set in/on the Alaxxes Nebula.

I thought Russ was supposed to be on Terra for the siege?
Is this set after that? Did I miss something?

Leman Russ wasn't on Terra in the original Heresy-fluff. He couldn't get there fast enough.

Of course, Black Library already garbled it a bit, given he is on Terra in Vengeful Spirit and leaves again (?). So anything goes I suppose.

Wasn't it the Wolves, Blood Angels and White Scars defending Terra? Or is his legion there but nor Russ himself?

Nope, the Wolves and Dark Angels only showed up at the end when it was already too late.

Yeah. It was the Fists, White Scars and Blood Angels on Terra. The Wolves and Dark Angels showed up late, Guilliman was stuck at Ultramar, and the Raven Guard, Iron Hands and Salamanders were too crippled from Istvaan V.

Fear to Tread is also the last Heresy book I tried to read. I only got about 30-60 pages in. I lost my bookmark, but all I remember is that some Blood Angels were fighting orks and it felt like a complete waste of time for a Heresy book. Anyone remember what page that happens on?
