Going to be honest, I completely forgot that was a thing since there's no physical book. Part of why I don't like digital only.

Still, unless it has been updated recently I don't think the current SoB codex has its own formation/detachment thing?

It comes with an Apocalypse formation IIRC, that's how old it is.

What if they replaced the various units in the Sisters codex with one unit that can take special weapons, heavy weapons, jump packs and other stuff?

It's easier and less messy to use separate unit entries, otherwise it may become a vague minefield of sentences and wording that can be interpreted in many ways.

I just checked and Battle Sisters squads are no longer available. We're so close to plastics.

They're not just "no longer available" like the traitors of chaos pack, they don't exist anymore.

And we certainly wouldn't want 40K to get too complicated.

I disagree. “Any model from this unit can exchange its bolter for any of the following weapons by paying the appropriate cost :”. Now you can play a BSS with 5 melta 4 heavy flammers, or 2 multi-melta 5 heavy bolters 2 stormbolters.
I agree it's easier to keep Seraphim as a separate unit though.

How would AoFs work then? Cause dominions are the best thing sisters have, don't kill them.

Cool. I'm not a huge fan of Blanche's work (I'm more often a critic in general but also of that particular cover art) but I'm glad that they're occasionally paying homage to some of the older art with resin figs. I figured the 2nd edition Blood Angel was a one off idea but it looks like he has a friend now.

They are gone worldwide. There is absolutely no reason to do this unless plastic sisters are coming. The new book will definitely create a little spike in player interest so they would miss out on sales.
I am now 100% convinced that plastic sisters are coming SOON.

Each turn, each BSS can try to pass one AoF from this list, by taking a Ld test. More flexibility. Also you can pay 1 ppm to get scout.

Before you get too excited, GW also cancel products and reissue as a new release with a new product code when they update the box that the miniatures come in...

That'll be different.

So I just checked myself and it's interesting it's ONLY the sister squad missing which may be the only squad in this book I truly think we're getting a plastic set... Especially as the Warhammer 40k Facebook page made an off hand comment about a model preview during the developer interview for Warhammer live week

Silly insaniak, don't you know a rebox for SoB is the same level of shakeup as a new model line for other factions.

As a Sisters collector,I can only imagine this is finally gone because it was a mix of blisters that didn't make sense and also cost more than buying 10 battle sisters. I know I personally never bought it and have close to the 100 infantry mark of sisters. I can't imagine they were selling many of this premade unit.

Without wanting to start a fight, all the peaple who dislike the model... what do you want sisters of battle to look like, if not like that iconic John Blanche image. To me... that picture *is* the touchstone for Sisters of Battle....

Not wanting to upset anyone, but given that John Blanche is the art director for the entire setting... if you don't like his style...dosent that spoil your enjoyment of the game?

No, because as terrible as Blanche's artwork really is, he has an eye for design. He just needs to design the looks of stuff (Well, some of it. His 7th Ed. VC and Beastmen stuff was worse than what my 3 year old draws) in the studio, and then the good artists can render art for the books. Kind of like what they needed to do with Brent Blevins or Jack Kirby.

Looking for dice from the new AOS boxed set and Dark Imperium on the cheap. Let me know if you can help.

For what it's worth, there's a difference between whether or not you like someone's style, and whether or not they're a 'good' artist.

By just about any metric, John Blanche is an outstanding artist... and I'll quite happily acknowledge that while heartily disliking most of his work.

Having said that, I seem to be liking more of his stuff as I get older... Weird.

Is it just me, or did he seem to have a fetish for yellow? For whatever reason, the yellow backgrounds on his art always seems to wash out the foreground...probably just me but it just takes away from the image somehow.

So maybe it's squads of 5 Sisters, like how Eldar Aspects got repacked?

I'd buy 5 for 20. If actually turned out cheaper before if you bought 3 packs of 3 sisters and a superior.

It is 10am local time though it sometimes goes up a little early. Products usually go up at 10am in each country.

I expect Sisters to get the Eldar Aspect and Necron Warriors got treated. Everything is going the way of being packaged as the minimum unit. Necron Warriors went from 5 being the minimum unit size to 10 (ok, there are 12 in the box... so bad example). Eldar Guardians went from boxes of 10 down to boxes of 5 to match their entry.
Either BSS will stay at 10 per box and go UP to 10 per unit OR they will stay at 5 per unit and come in sets of 5. Mostly, this is a plastic box philosophy, but I don't see why GW wouldn't apply it to new boxes of resin or metal either.

Didn't the hint at the end of the Magnus the Red reveal explicitly state PLASTIC Sisters of Battle? My understanding from a friend who works for GW is that the molds for plastic kits are laser cut and cost tens of thousands of dollars for each plate. Why would they go through the trouble of making a new, very expensive, mold if they weren't going to use it?

Honestly, my bet is that the plastic kit will be set up like the Tactical Squad kit. Bolters for everyone with one of each Special weapon. Probably parts to make one Sister a Sister Superior.
