More of Monkey's brilliant orky villages, Just one things, it could uses more "slapped on" plates and maybe some ork-glyphs just to give that ork-homey feel!

vik - Cheers! Funny that, when I read that I recalled a previous set of terrain I built for orks/feral muties/whatever - they were round huts made with matchsticks, probably about the same size. Think I saw one kicking around somewhere, I'll have to dig it out and compare

Glyphs weren't originally going to appear on the actual buildings, just on the 'added extras', in my mind justifying it as terrain for inquisimunda too.

Ok, Sunday update time. A tad late I understand but it was too late to be bothered with photos and uploading and typing and all that last night

So most of the jalopy done now.




The driver's still in da surjary, there'll be a throttle control lever thingummy beside him. Decided that it does need exhausts, so need to add those, and some detailing required for the Compork netbook - mainly wiring Out of shot (because I wanted to tease, and not at all because I forgot them) there's some armour plates that slot into the sides, and I'm working on a similar piece for the front.

Oh, and a number plate.


Stripped the old green hover vehicle and started work on the kannon.




Seem to be thinking about terrain a fair bit at the moment - it makes a nice change I feel, although there's a very definite limit to the amount I can build - and indeed the size of some ideas



Did have some H-beam just the right size for slotting those together, however I've chopped it up and used it in various places it seems. Ordered some more and some more plasticard - I wasn't stocked up for creating terrain Also working on a piece that slots between them with support beams to alow models on both rooftops.


Fancied one with a bit more space up top.




A walkway might be handy too.




And a building with a walkway on top.




Of course, you don't always want to be climbing ladders to get up high do you?




All very much WIP, buildings should all be based on cd's, not sure about the walkways yet (there's more waiting for supports). All need much more ramshackle plating rivets and assorted gubbinz yet, not to mention a few more doors are needed. There's a few more that haven't had any roofing or structures added yet.

Added some stability by adding another layer, and some purdy girders to drape chains and stuff off of.

It is fantastic terrain though, and it would make an excellent home for your cyborks. They can have picknicks on the gantry - maybe you should make them some little chairs so they can chillax while 'digestin da humie meat"

Chuffed to discover today that a comic/gaming store actually opened in my town. Somewhat surprised to discover it actually opened last year, considering it's not a huge town and as both a comic and gaming fan I would have thought I'd notice something like that. Apparently there's a painting workshop on Sunday, I plan to go and have a poke about on Saturday and see what's what. At the very least I have a new source of paint (and hopefully other supplies) in town.


Chopped an old snotling up, covered him in Iyanden and gave him a green wash, then stuck him in the looted wagon, gave the cockpit area a variety of washes.




Then sealed him in place.



Just realised I forgot to give him some bioniks in place of the arm I chopped off..Oh well, bit late now. Also started on a rokkit launcher for the side, needs a couple of wires, and I suppose I could stick some actual rokkits in place too.

That reminds me of the "Urban Assault Vehicle" from the Bill Murray / Harold Ramus movie "Stripes".

Man, I haven't seen that for years! Hmm, surely I've got it on dvd somewhere?

Thanks Dave. I seem to have seriously underestimated how many girders I'm going to use Every time I pick a piece up I think it could do with a girder or two.

Latest piece no exception.




Now most sensible peeps would have cut the 'pillars' in two and glued them either side of the walkway piece. So I cut two holes and put the whole pillar through.
The walkway is the same height as the silo-type buildings and walkways obviously. That means there could be a higher level walkway at the same level as the highest building so far. And then a walkway or perhaps some crow's nests at the top.

And quite like the idea of a lower piece, at right angles, suspended by chains. Need to do a bit of figuring on how I can make that practical for placing models on

And this piece, coupled with the fact that I picked up an empty pallet wrap roll on my way out of ork today has convinced me I have actually gone insane.
I'm going to have to re-arrange the whole boat in order to actually put these somewhere.

Me too, that's why I jumped on the box-o-train bridges, The plastruct girders can get expensive.

im loving all of this terrain, and vehicles you've been building recently. i might not be typing anything, but i am gasping over it

pallet wrap inners! Good call monkey, I will make up some bull excuse and get some from work. They are quite long so you can cut em into multiple sections.

I don't have room for this either - your madness is infectious!

I say rearange the boat - put some stuff you don't really need in a vacuum storage bag, tie it to a buoy and throw it overboard! All the storage space you'll ever need...
