lol....curiously i have yet to start playing the game with mods...had recently a computer crash...and now i started a new char...my old 65+ one died with the last system... was too stupid to save everything before...^^

Ouch! It's one game I don't mind re-rolling a character. There are some fantastic building mods, weapons, etc. You should mod Preston out ASAP. the quests will never end otherwise

i know...i read endless jokes already on pintrest concerning preston..."another settlement needs your attention..." argh....
how and where would i find said mod?

Just like FO:3 or NV- use Nexus Mod manager. you can just easily plug in mods. You can Kill Preston, or just reduce his quests http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10339/? , or turn him into a woman, make him fat, all kinds of things.


Random, OT Thought of the Day:

MDF terrain is fine, unless you want curved surfaces.
It's come a long, long, way, but I haven't seen a lot of innovation in this area

Yep, I'll also endorse the Nexus Mod Manager. It's what I use to manage the 100+ mods I have (for FO4 alone).

Always back up your save games before installing mods as a good habit.

Install one at a time and check it works as intended to help with problem solving.

And look for "Coastal Cottage Cave", that's my (so far one and only) mod.

Vik, I'd highly recommend the Galaxy News Radio mods- it adds all the FO:3 and FO:NV songs to the radio, there are other radio stations you can mod in too.

There still isn't ANYTHING like blasting Raiders while "Butcher Pete" is playing

no hiding... but parents day at school and other stuff like hunting fr birthday presents kept me from answering...and an unneeded fear of breaking the game if i truly start with modding... AND i am close to getting a new laptop soon...so hesitation all around...

I did see those bottom two mdf pieces at Adepticon, and they are quite nice. Beveled edges would make them much better though. Maybe we will see better stuff as 3d printers get better or a multi axis laser cutter becomes realistic for terrain?

I think that is why I prefer SciFi over fantasy, you can just imagine any tech or Industrial feat, and you never have to explain what it does, or how it works. With Necromunda, no one alive remembers what all this equipment was used for anyway, derelict bones from a forgotten era.

oh... it was corned beef hash?... never heard of that ...thought it was minced meat...the doc recently told me to lay my hand off of too much fat stuff... and i am all meat...so fat is something that goes along with that urge... and of course my appetite for sweets...

It's diced Corned Beef Brisket, fried up with diced potatoes. I think it's European in nature of origin. This is east coast or New England style hash. It was definitely from a time when they excelled at making food last and feed many.

@Vik- you'e got to balance the meat with other stuff man.

Check out the clear/grey sprue splice on the objectives sprues. This is what you'd expect from a high-end Japanese model kit.

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the new sprues/kits.
There's some really fine/delicate details (namely spikes) on the DI models, and the fit of the pieces is very good (on the 5 I've put together so far).
GW seems to have stepped up the model quality recently.

Yeah Vik, that Superman escape pod is actually a life pod, that they say fits a Titan Princeps perfectly. I assume a Sentinel pilot might fit too. When I read Titanicus, they spoke of the "casket" the more ancient Princeps were entombed in, this looks like a casket.

I think the Cogitator Stack or the Auto-Doc with enslaved medical servitor is my favorite. I'll be getting at least one more box.

@Doc- I heard someone say all the new China plastic was crap because of the Large Base detail kit was soft on detail, well, it's soft on detail so it doesnt draw your eye away from the mini. I've been impressed so far. The Nottingham plastic has a brittleness, this stuff is not brittle.

Those new sprues really are sci-fi modeller heaven aren't they - as for the clear sprue attached, I applaud GW for that...
