Yes, well... there was a lot of making due with what you had on Saturday. Heck, we invented rules for my grot tanks so they'd fit into the scenario! Still a fun game though... no one was worrying about the small stuff.

I did get the base coats (several airbrush layers & washes) on the runtbot. I can post a pic later (when it dries) if anyone's interested.

Here's that pic I promised you. I know this looks really screwy right now with the splashes of green and yellow. Please trust me, it'll even out well enough 'err it's done.

No, this started off air brushed then received multiple layers of washes and dry brushes. I just fiddled with it until it was done.

I spent at least 3 hours painting the Runt Bot last night and you can't really tell that I did anything. I could be playing 40k 20 years from now (in my dotage) and I'd STILL be painting this model! Sheesh! I got about half of the boltgun metal bits painted and washed... oh, and finished painting the shoulder plates. I think my original hope of having him done by Wednesday was wildly optomistic. I think if I can get the boltgun metal, the yellow and a few important details here and there... it'll be good enough to use, then I can fiddle with him as I like. He seems to be coming out nicely though. I'll post a pic from my i-phone tonight IF I can figure out how exactly to do that... don't get your hopes up. Cutting and pasting are still an undiscovered country as far as I'm concerned.

Mostly, on my phone.

Use the photobucket app to upload to that from your iphone, very easy to cut and past to dakka from that.

Seriously... my computer is about to die... so I'll do my best to update but no promises.

Runt Bot to date: Still pretty WIP but slowly coming together. I moved the grot from the shoulder (which is where he's designed to be) to the arm so he can be looking at the runt herd. I'll give him little eyeballs looking down so it's obvious where he's looking.

The painting is looking great but are you going to reposition the runt herders arm? It looked better when he was aiming at the grot.

I can move him around as needed. The point of the scene however... is NOT to have the herder look like he's going to kill the grot... defeats the whole purpose don't 'cha know. He is BS 2 after all...

But seriously, it keep getting better and better, good job.
I like the grot on the arm, gives the impression that he's very much in control and can walk all over the robot.

Thanks Dr. H.

One way or the other it'll get done tonight. I'll focus on the face, a few details and the base. It won't be "finished" finished... but it'll look complete enough to be a decent addition to the army.

I can then revisit it later.

That's great gits - I really identify with the grot. I am imagining myself as the grot and the runtherd is my new boss (a strict disciplinarian). Stomp on his head, problem solved.

You did a really good job.

I think that the family photo really makes it Outstanding work, it's an incredibly busy figure but you manage to make it look uncluttered.

Thanks guys. He's still very busy & kind of chaotic... but that's the way the model is. I tried to stick to consistent themes throughout so it wasn't too painful to look at.

He looks great Gits. I love the green head. I think the green blends very subtly with the dirty metal workings of the bot while making the yellows pop more. It's a nice balance... it also balances the two greenskins on the model. The name of the one PK makes me giggle... nob nipper The cine-effect gun burst is cool too, makes it a lot more animated... or at least brings it home.
