One small suggestion: All these hatches, could they do with a rod (doesn't even have to be a visible piston) to open and close them?
I know it's possible to have hatches work from the hinge, but it's little things like that, that I like to add...
i do have the materials and i was planning to do that too...was a bit unmotivated about doing that... but now i am motivated

You could keep both cannons if you make them nested barrels, like a recoiling system.
indeed... the turret alone has 220 rivets!!! for a LoeR designated transport it has to have one hell of a truckload of...wait for it...rivets

Vik, I realised I didn't answer your question. I suggest a plate under the hatch, either a plain quadrilateral (to suggest it seals the hatch) or with a X through it (much more work, but would look v cool), so you get cross-in-a-box shape on the underside.

Never built a Russ kit Vik? Oh, you should build at least one. The older kit if possible, not the newer, compromised kit.

Hello my dear subscribers...(and all these who tuned in who are still not subscribed, now you feel you should have been here earlier, eh? )
today i would like to present to you a 99% finished built hommage to da vinci´s tortoise tank...
the designated transport to the =]_=, the league of extra ordinary riveteers...
first some eyeopening shots of its breathtaking view in total:
what do you think?^^
and now off to some detailshots...
since the last update the tank has had some longreaching changes happening to it...
i had to replace the lower barrelmaws with bigger chaos heads as i needed the smaller ones for the upper tier...thus this is the look of the lower hatches...also thanks to gravens idea the inside of these hatches got the new details added...also...pistons too...
this is the boiler all riveted up and also with a grill...
i´ve added a flag /banner to the turret as you already could see on the full shots...not too sure about the frilly look yet...your thoughts?
detailshots of the upper tier...small barrelmaws...pistons and added decor shields to be later painted in yet unknown ways to me
the turret now has viewpoints ...the pointy look is new... does this look fitting?...
back to the belly of the beast...namley the underside and the tracks... here still is some riveting needed... but you get the idea...
sprocket wheels are not teethed... i didn´t have anything to achieve that look...
so...your thoughts? ideas... any wishes? well... i sure have some questions... the outside of the hatches need some ideas for detailing... ? would be nice to hear of your thoughts about that issue... also... should i rivet the underside?...
oh...and for us rivetnerds... your looking at way over 1700 rivets at this tank...still counting...
cheers, vik

Brilliant Vik. Very nice.
On your hatches, if you are riveting the cross pieces to the underside, you could just have the rivets coming through. That would break up the flatness of them without adding extra detail that will likely be lost amongst the rivets.
