Do you think a drybrush could have done the same effect for the sails? Or are those freehanded details?

They look good, and the extra effort is a good addition. But you're right there are some spots that could use a touch up here and there.

Yeah, whatever I do next I'll drybrush. It's just that drybrushing a
recessed location needs to be planned, and I had already done the color blocking.

So next time, definitely.

The last of my ships.

Love painting these. As mentioned in the thread, I want to take care of the sails first next
time as they are recessed and drybrushing will help the ribbing appear more naturally.

Thanks migs. Too bad I don't cut things up and paint them up real good like
some of you guys on the forums. Best I can do is the ADG painting blog,

I wonder if I can edit this thread title.

So before I update with my images, here's a draft of another Work in Progress that's
been sitting on my desk until recently. I started this months ago, and then set it
aside until I had a Trukk. And then I set it aside until I had some more Boyz.

On a lark, I opened up the Trukk and put it together. Then I put more of the Boyz
together. And finally, I think I had my answer, as badly constructed as it was.

"How do you fit 10 Boyz in the back of a Trukk?"

Answer: You amputate.

As I built Shoota Boyz, I reserved some legs and some of the torsos for this
project. I think the math comes out to 23 Shoota Boyz, 2 with rokkits, 1 Nob
with power klaw and 1 10 man token for a Trukk built to field Boyz with Sluggaz.

So three boxes with a loss of maybe 4-7 models for the sake of a placeholder
token.

I've left the Crossbar off the trukk. I had planned to try to thread it through as
part of the mass of Boyz, but since I'd already started gluing the Boyz together
(quite literally) I found the weapon placements made it somewhat impossible to
pull off.

As you can see from the pics, I miscalculated some of my positioning, and
my visible Boyz now hover a bit. I think the coolness of glued Ork bodies will
somewhat offset the loss of verisimilitude.

My Eldar Rangers.

I think I can field 20-30 of these, but these are my first of the newer sculpts. I was
pretty pleased with them, too, until I saw a similar scheme elsewhere on Dakka
recently that was done with much better quality. Maybe I try to pick alt schemes
because I can't paint the regular ones as well as others.

I haven't assembled any Guardians yet. I can't decide how to paint things that
both match my old Eldar scheme and something that resembles a Harlequin army. Some
people gave me good ideas (painting stage masks on Guardian helmets for one), but
the colors aren't there yet.

If you can stand awful bad poetry:

The long term plan is to paint 10 Eternal Guard here and 10 Eternal Guard
there. At some point I might convert a bunch of plastic Eternal Guard out of
High Elves/Dark Elves/whatever. I think my target number will be 50-ish so
that I can run two blocks of 25 for giggles.

I really, really like the model right below your Warjack on the last post on the first page. It's not the neatest paintjob, sure, but something about it just looks awesome.

What model is it?

How's the Uncharted Seas game? I've seen it at the Warstore's website and it looks neat (not to mention I've been curious to start a table-top naval game).

Also, I'm diggin' the High Elf stuff in general. The colors for your dragon princes work quite well (I take it that the metals are washed with Asurmen blue?).

Haven't played yet. Don't know when I'll get to play. I've been holing up to get
painting done so it's a bit of a stretch to get games going.

Thank you. I was afraid that the green would be too much. The blue is a Vallejo ink, but
I'm guessing it's the same. I'm so lazy that I use it both for High Elf metal AND the robes.
