Okay, finished up the 9 Terminators that I have been working on. (Now only 11 more to finish!) For these I wanted an old, rusted and tarnished look. The rust and patina colors were easy enough to do, but I wanted the black armor to have a faded look to it. So I ended up dry brushing the black with Fortress Gray. I then took a silver Sharpie paint marker and added chips in the armor and then gave the armor a wash with Badab Black. Since I paint my models to look good on the table and not Golden Demon level, I think the faded look turned out okay but you can be the judge of that. Well, here's the pics and I hope you enjoy! Comments and critiques are welcomed.

Three more Terminators completed.

Four more Terminators completed. That finishes up the 16 Terminators with lightning claws. All that is left now are 2 with reaper autocannons and power fists and 2 with heavy flamers and powerfists.

Man, Lord Mortis, those termies are awesome looking. The verdigris really makes them pop. Do you have LRs for them or do you plan to deep strike them since they're mostly armed with CC weapons?

Thanks! I have a LR, but I rarely use the Terminators unless I am playing Apocalypse. I am mainly just trying to get all my unpainted figures finished this summer.

My word. Those are impressive. I love the verdegris on those and the unified theme is impressive.

Now only a CSM player.

Thanks! Glad you like them.

And here are the last 4 of my 20 Terminators! Going to take a break for a couple of days, then it is on to the 10 bikes.

Thanks! Glad you like them. And yes, they do hang around the "seedier" parts of the galaxy on Friday nights.

Steal away! Just be sure to credit me for your inspiration. lol

Well, bikes are just about finished. I should be posting pics probably on Monday. Was thinking about doing some OSL for the flaming head champion, but not quite sure about it yet.

And I think I'm going to do the Terminator scythe thing as well. ^^

No problem!

So the bikes are finally finished! I started painting the first 5 bikes with Shining Gold and a Devlan Mud wash on all the trim. Then for the second group of bikes (meltas, Icon bearer, Champion), I did a Chainmail basecoat with a Gryphon Sepia wash. I think I like the Sepia wash the best. For the champion, I wanted to do some OSL with the flames, but I have never done it before and didn't have any other suitable models to practice on, nor the time, so I opted not to for the time being as I didn't want to possibly mess up the champion. Anyway, on to the pics!

Thanks! Going to start on my version of Astaroth and The Sanguinor next.

Finished up my version of the Sanguinor last night. Since the background for the Death Angels is that they are a successor chapter of Blood Angels who got caught in the Netherworld and came back as Revenants, I run this army as either an entire Death Company army led by Astaroth or as a CSM army. When I saw the Enigma miniatures model "The Old Death" I knew I had to get one and use it for something. So when I run this army using Blood Angels rules I will use it as the Sanguinor, and for a CSM army I will probably use it as a Demon Prince.

I primed the entire model in Chaos Black. For the cloak, I gave a base coat of Adeptus Battlegrey, followed by a wash of Badab Black, and then a dry brush of Codex Grey. I drybrushed the wings with Fortress Grey followed by a light dry brush of Skull White. I picked out any bone with Bleached Bone and then washed the wings with Devlan Mud. For the armor and scythe, I used a base coat of Dwarf Bronze followed by a wash of Devlan Mud and then a patina wash and light highlight of Dwarf Bronze. The parchment and wrappings I used a basecoat of Bestial Brown followed by Bleached Bone and then a wash of Gryphonne Sepia to "age" them a little.

Thanks guys! I am pleased at how it turned out. When I first started painting it I didn't really have any color scheme in mind so I just picked an area (base, wings, etc) and just went from there.

Just a small new addition, my version of Astaroth. Just a simple weapon swap, using a scythe from Reaper minis. Getting things ready for an Apocalypse game tomorrow so don't have much time to take and post a lot of pics of this model.

Not bad, but there's something missing. He's lacking something. Probably a scythe.

And the colors seem less bright than with your Terminators. Was that done on purpose?

Thanks! I was going for that "just butchered the poor sap" kind of look.

Lol. He has "scythes" for fingers. And as far as brightness, idk, maybe it was the lighting when I was taking the pictures?

Its been a while since my last update, but here are pics of what I have been working on. First up, the Renegade Vendettas that I posted some WIP pics of a while back.

Next up is my counts-as Stormravens that I started last year before the actual model came out. I didn't spend too much time or detail on these since they are counts-as and I may get the actual models at some point in the future, at which point these will be obsolete.

And now another WIP pic of my Death Company Dreadnoughts, which I will be working on next.

Those are very spiky Valkyries. In fact, I've never seen the chaos vehicle upgrades in such a long line. It kinda looks a bit like a fence.
I really like the colours. Very striking.

But why do they still have the Imperial Eagle wings on their wings?

Why not just call them Mk I Storm Ravens and leave them as is? I think they look great! Then again, if you get the new ones, you could always give the old ones to me! Are they GI Joe mini sub convertions? Awesome!

Thanks! Glad you like.

But why do they still have the Imperial Eagle wings on their wings?

The short story of it is, according to the background for this army, is that they basically worship the Angel of Death, and the person responsible for leading them to their worship of Death has used iconography found in everyday use in the Imperium as "evidence" of Death worship formally being in the Imperium. Sort of like how the Apostle Paul used the altar of the "unknown god" to preach about the existence of Jehovah to the Athenians in Acts 17. So they retain the images of the Imperium that are normally associated with the Angel of Death, e.g. wings and skulls.

That's not a bad idea, since my desire to go out and spend a crap ton of money on the actual Stormraven models is virtually non-existent. Glad you like them. Thanks! And yeah, they are the G.I. Joe. S.H.A.R.C. vehicles.

Took a break from working on the Dreadnoughts for a moment and spent a couple of hours today scratch-building a Chaplain for a friend of mine who is getting into the game and has a small Space Marine army. I put magnets in the backpack and jumppack so they could be taken on and off depending on how he wants to use the Chaplain in a game. Tomorrow its back to working on the Dreads.
