Under the Himalaiyan mountains

OH, MY, GOSH!

An army of grim reapers, it's heaven for anyone that has ever read a Discworld novel.

I love it.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Yeah, they didn't look as "bulky" as I wanted them too when I first made them. The Terminator bodies fit the lower halves well, but the addition of the shoulder pads and spikes makes the lower half look smaller. With the addition of the capes, the tunics, and the skulls/rotting heads, I think it blends the lower half in better with the upper half.

These seem to be lacking something, as they are not quite as "terrifying" as the tanks. I think what they may need is some chain wrapped around them (or barbed wire) with some skulls and such hanging from them. I'm also thinking about putting some spikes in some of the leg joints.

If you want them to look scary, drill a skull out, and place it on the lascannon's muzzle. That'd be sweet.

Just a small update. Got these painted in a couple hours the other night. My first unit of Ghosts (Demons).

Okay, so it's been a while since I have updated this blog. Been distracted a little over the past month or so. But, I finally finished up my Obliterators, and so here they are. Now, I paint my figs to a good table top standard and don't care much about mold lines and such, so don't expect Golden Demon winners here. While the pics turned out okay, they still don't do them justice. Some of the details and highlights are not showing up, so something is "off" somewhere in my picture taking but I am not sure exactly what it is....

Wow! Cool army.

Reminds me to the Cryx of Warmachine. Especially the Obligators looks like the Machine Wraths. That's really great.

Painting progress is slow but steady. Here are my Troops for the Death Angels. Looking at the last two pics, can anyone guess what technique I used for the highlighting/edging of the black?

Okay, just finished up another batch of 21 Death Angels Chaos Space Marines. Oh, and if you didn't guess, I used a Berol Prismacolor "Cool Grey" colored pencil to do all the edging/highlighting on the black.

Together with the batch I did last month, I have a pretty good core Troops choice.

Next up to paint: 10 Chosen.

Very Awesome job on all of them.

What did you use for the scythes? I'm guessing many different sources for the handles, but what about the blades?

Again, fantastic job, i'm looking forward to seeing more.

Alright, so it's been a while since I updated this. I have finished up my Chosen squad and the Champions and Icon bearers for my Troops selections. All the models I had painted prior to these looked too "new" for an Undead CSM army, so for this batch of miniatures I decided to weather them up a bit and add some rust and patina to them. I liked how they turned out so I will eventually go back and weather up all the others I have painted. With this batch done, I am now turning my attention to my tanks as I am burnt out on painting so many CSMs. Once I am done with my tanks, I will finish up the rest of the Death Angels CSM.

For the rust effect, I used a base of Vermin Brown and stippled it on the models. I then used some Fiery Orange and stippled it on top of the Vermin Brown. The patina color is a Folkart "patina" color that I found at Michaels that I mixed with water and washed over certain areas of the models.

My Chosen Squad.

Aspiring Champions and Icon Bearers for my Troops.

Thanks! The scythes were taken from the Warhammer Fantasy Zombie sprues. Lots of bits ordering to get the number I needed. lol The handles are Chaos Terminator Power Weapon arms. I clipped around the "pointy/arrow" part of the Terminator weapon, then cut the scythe blade into shape around the pointy bit, then glued the two parts together.

Here's a small update with my 2 Chimeras for my armored company. I am going to go back later and do some weathering with paint chippings and rusting. I am experimenting with some different rust techniques right now and will probably rust all the tanks at one time.

Wow, so much awesome stuff here but it's the Deathriders that pushed me from "lurk" mode to "compliment" mode. Such an excellent look. Those will be outstanding on the battlefield.

I recognize that bulldog pendant on the back ramp.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Your pics remind me of a guy that used to have battle reports in GW with his iron hands. Your stuff is incredible. Total throwback to my haydays in the mid to late 90s. I feel like I should be sitting in the card shop watching The Hunt for Red October for the 99th time.

So uh...how do Tyranids ingest supernatural beings and tainted flesh? Do they fill a digestion pool with genetically engineered bleach or something? Oh well we'll figure something out. Can Tyranids loot ghosts?

Thanks for the comments guys!

I am currently painting up my Basilisks, but got an idea for my Sentinels that I wanted some opinions on. My Sentinels were a little bare and didn't seem as "scary" as the tanks, so I was trying to come up with a way to make them more scarier looking. Then it hit me a few days ago that hanging some corpses up on the front of them might look nice. So what I planned on doing was having skeletons on one unit, zombies on another, and maybe a mix of Guard/Spacemarines/zombie bodies on the third unit in order to tell the 3 different units from each other.

However, I am really liking the way the skeletons turned out, and I may just differentiate between the 3 units by using tattered banners. So what do you guys think?
