The plane ride. i was awake for well over 72, close to 4 days. lots of connecting flights, coffee, and waiting aimlessly for my flights while being totally uncomfortable on the plane.
I must have smelled terrible and looked like garbage as there was certainly not enough time to shower or sleep!

about 36 hours... not very good at staying awake, though I'm a pro sleeper. 18 hours straight ive done twice, and 15-16 hours is not unusual for me if I don't have anything to do that day.

Generally hallucinating, and very shaky, with little control over body temperature regulation (Ie you get too warm and too cold very easily)
I know even at the end of a 24-30 hour day, I have a hard time with my body temp. If you get cold when you are that tired, it takes a lot to get warm again.

Huh. I would not have guessed about the temperature thing. Never really got me, but my body's too stable in its instability to let me go much farther than 30 hours without at least heavy dozing (i.e. this one time I was sitting at my desk a couple of years ago, in school, I literally just passed out for 5 minutes. Then again, this was around the time Monster Energy Drink still gave me the jitters and kept me awake).

I've been awake for well over 40 hours on a few occasions, but my own personal record is 50 hours. That was on a LAN-party where me and a friend had an endurance contest of who could stay awake the longest. I won by literally two minutes. As soon as I saw that he had fallen asleep, I snapped a picture for proof and then basically passed out.

I know soldiers are given to tall tales, but who the feth said 145 hours?

I had to stay awake for 4 days during my commando training, and it really fethed me up. The initial surge into Iraq was about as bad, but you didn manage to get SOME sleep, even 30 minutes slumped over your bergan while you waited for a chopper would make you feel a whole lot better.

I got maybe 4 hours sleep in a 5 day period, and my gums were bleeding all the time, my nails seemed to be peeling out of my hand, all my skin was fethed up and I was seeing things and basically I felt like death.

If anyone tells me they went 5 full days without a wink of sleep, I call them a bullshitter.

And if they did it voluntarily playing video games or warhammer, I call them an outright psychopath!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Oh the wonderful world of models and crunch time! Trying to get stuff glued together without knackering the paintwork or glueing yourself to your model. My worst was over 60 hours without sleep finishing the sculpt and painting this guy for a Uni project. I decided to airbrush him despite having never airbrushed and having already been awake for about 36-odd hours. Never again.

Nice results... yeah all nighters at uni are one thing but out in the big old world of the employed it's even scarrier... It's not just your reputation on the line it's the companies plus is he ever going to want me back to work for him again? can I find another job quick enough to cover the bills this month??

I'm actualy much happier now working as a health care assistant in the mental health industry... Never thought I'd write that as I studies Modelmaking at Uni...

Lol don't say that I'm trying to work up to going self-employed! There's a laser cutter in the UK with my name on it

I've heard stories from friends in the Architecture biz of long weeks and all nighters trying to finish a model only to be told it's going in a cupboard because the architects don't need it any more! Crazy world...

unfortunately I went without sleep for a little over 14 days straight once. Being a new father with a very fussy sick baby and no family or friends to help watch.

It was not an enjoyable experience. I was hallucinating often after about day 4, and I would sleep for 6 hours a night after the 14 days and it still took a few weeks of sleeping before I didnt see shadow people and my brain started working right again.

I also once got a really bad sunburn on my back (in Norway of all places), so I coulden't sleep for over two days although I wanted to.
The longest I have been awake voluntarily would be about 36 hours - sometimes partying through the night, sometimes playing computer with my friends.
