When are these plastics supposed to be released? January?

Must every single thing be reduced to a vile comparison between 40k and Warmachine? They're both heinously expensive, why doesn't that suffice?

Yes, and I'm not looking forward to GW deciding the market will bear another $10 per Codex.

I'm so unhappy that PP have switched to the GW model for releases. It's doomed to piss me off at some ppint. The old release method was one of my favourite things about them.
Those faction books would want to be amazing to justify that price.

I already pay ca. $33 for Codexes, this will be no different. Except less Arbitrary Cruddace.

Then you can look forward to paying over $46 per Codex if GW follows the PP price increase.

Assuming I ever want to buy another Codex again (not bloody likely, there's nothing they can do to change the Guard to make me care).

Its kind of bugging me that the price for the faction books ARE 35$....

and it makes codex's look inexspensive suprisingly.

Though, PP books tend to be super filled with all color pages, and fluff.

But the only reason that would make them worth it if they have new unreleased stats... some special army lsit composition..

Meh... hah.

What I am really wondering is if the new rulebooks create a standard 'CORE' for each faction.

The the introduction of more MK2 exspansions = exspansions as they always do.

This does mean you'll be buying lots of books ;P lol. Smart...

I expect that the faction books will be much longer than a GW Codex. Anyone know the page counts?

Tbh I don't find the fluff that compelling even compared to GW's efforts, so paying more for more weak fluff does not appeal to me. What I liked about the old method was there was no chance of a DE style limbo occuring. Now I feel like it's just a matter of time.

No idea- but every PP book has had TONS of pages, everything pure color.

So we can only expect the same quality for each.... otherwise that cost is just disgusting if not.

The new faction books are just a compilation of the previous five years plus a few new releases to tide them over. It's back to the old four (five) factions in one book after that.

Actually, I don't think poly cement works on those plastics... so you're still on super glue.

I'll reserver judgement until i see what the army books holds within.

In terms of plastic, I think they are better than the current metals.

Well, there's a lot of things that could go in that gap you've left. One of them is a combo-driven gameplay that's reasonably unlike 40k's. Another is a ruleset that's perceived as being more robust and a publisher that's perceived as being actively interested fixing it.
