It's "Lieutenant Caine". As in, regular ol' vanilla Caine

or at least that's what I'm understanding from the feed.

Yeah that's pCaine. eCaine doesn't have a sword and is a Captain.

Red_Lives wrote:Has noone else noticed that that is a NEW never before seen kind of Khador Jack? How is "COOL NEW KHADOR JACK!" not news?

Because we saw the concept art for all four of these at Gencon. First time we've seen the models yeah, but the news has been out there since August. Excited about the concept of the Cyclone, leary about the actual stats. Chainguns have not worked well for the swan in the past, and none of our stuff with it in MK2 is all that remotely useful. Ah well, still probably gonna buy two to make some defenders. Might take the chain guns and kit bash em to make some big shoota's for my battlewagon.

I like new Caine. The other one looks a bit like he is falling backwards. Which looks kinda funny on the table.

The halberdiers look as good as the art I saw.

Now where are the rest of the new minis?

Bam, said the lady!

Favorite Caine EVAR. Love that model. Finally dynamic without looking ridiculous.

Don't forget that Fennblades and Warspears are plastic, too.

Yeah, future sets of heavy infantry (units on 40mm bases) and 3in1 jack boxes were supposed to become plastic. The basic figs and other kits with limited sales will stay metal.

Wow. Looks like I'm getting back into Warmachine.
The whole "all metal" was nice for marketing, but it just makes so much more sense that way. How often did you think "damn, I wish I had the rules and models for another Jack in this game".

I really like the new models. Double gatling guns are always cool and the giant revolver on the Khador Jack is hilarious .
Dig the new cain too.

Double chain gun... double strafe?

(do chainguns still have strafe in mk2? IDK... not a cygnar player)

Could be devastating.

WHere'd you get the price at?

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.

Nice. PP is *raising* the price of plastic by 25% over existing metal.

You'd think they're GW or something!

It's like I've always said. The problem isn't with GW pricing, it's with miniatures wargaming being an obscenely expensive fringe hobby and people just needing to accept this.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

well, i view it as me buying 2 kits, and some magnets, rather then 2 of each model in metal for my cygnar forces

Where in Washington are you?

I'm in Seattle ;P we should game.

I got the prices straight from a pre-order wholesalers list, i also talk to the PP Director occasionally about stuff to advance order.

Not to also mention PPress is in Bellevue ;P I game at G3 in Redmond at times, and PP people always go there.

Hmm... 5$ increase from a 30$ heavy warjack (khador).

But with multiple/more parts, and larger model - give or take?

Yeah considering that these plastic kits are a type of plastic that has just as much detail as metal, and the kits have more parts I'd say $5 more is very reasonable.

Given the number of people taking about magnetizing the kits I'm thinking a 15% mark up is not bad at all.

I know I'll be getting a couple of each in the long run.

WM players are just the best. If GW released a kit and raised the price the internets would crash with all the rage. dear god, When GW released the plastic dreadnought with all weapon options and the price was only a couple of $$ cheaper than the metal and the bitchin' went on and on and on. If GW released a plastic model that was more expensive than the metal I believe the earth would actually stop spinning.

This is just a total crock and WM pricing etc is worse than GW but then again WM fanbois make GW fanbois look like jaded veterans in comparison.

Not bad at all - crock of sh...

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

GW fans don't need anyone's help to come across as idiots. They can accomplish that feat all by themselves. Just look upwards in this thread, and indeed all around us on this forum. QED.

I mean, really, with the community being as it is, is it any wonder that people are biased against 40k and GW? Attitudes on both sides, driven by half-wit demagoguery very much like yours, knowingly perpetuate the problem because it's oh so fashionable to form little nerd cliques and go to "war" on people whose little toy soldiers are manufactured on a different assembly line.

Oh christ, it's that same plastic the Starship Troopers models used, isn't it?

EURGH. I HATE that crap. It requires so much more work and doesn't accept primer as readily as any other models I've worked on, from Tamiya to GW.

{sigh} yet another "witty" response from the most jaded poster on Dakka - what a surprise.

Way to go to miss the main point I was making, i.e raising prices moving from plastic to metal by the company that presents itselfs as the anti-GW. Got nothing to do with little cliques or going to war - it is pure WM hypocrisy.

Now stop being so pompous.

Something was bothering me about the Khador jack.... then it hit me. None of the chambers on the cylinder (of the 'revolver') line up with the barrel.... this thing can't shoot!

True, but even with that taken into account it is still a nice looking weapon - now if only the legs were bigger I would be interested in painting one.

I can't remember GW taking the religion-route.

"Ours is the one true game and anyone who plays a different game is a heretic!".

GW is positive hindu/buddistic (is that a word?) compared to PP.

All companies are alike, that much is true. But it wasn't Privateer Press who made themselves somehow the antithesis of all things rotten in the industry. They've become "the anti-GW" by power of wishful thinking on the part of the sad rubes who think that there's some kind of fairness in the world. Poor, deluded fanboys who want to believe a fairy tale. It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Privateer has never made a promise not to raise prices, or claimed plastic models would be cheaper. And even if they had, can a company even be meaningfully guilty of hypochrisy?

Steelmage99 wrote:I can't remember GW taking the religion-route.

And I suppose you're telling me this is somehow an accurate paraphrasing of Privateer Press's viewpoint?

If the plastic jacks were cheaper than the metals I'd be interested, but since they are actually more expensive I'm not at all.
