Awesome work! The sentinels look a bit tall but it sure is impressive work! Love the Zombies!

Your sentinals look ten times better the gw ones. Have you considered casting them, and selling them? In both Loyal and heretic forms? Also do you have a comparision picture of yours next to a gw sentinal? I think your's bigger in height. They looks more slender, and more fitting as a scout sentinal as well. GW's are just compact, square boxes on legs. Great work.

Thanks guys glad my sentinels are going down well. Afraid I don't have an actual GW one to stand next to it for comparison. Height-wise it seems like a standard sentinel would come up to the top of the doors.

Can't say I'd thought of casting them. Don't think I'd know where to start really. Have read a few guides on casting simple things but think one of these would go beyond that. Also not sure what GW would make of it. Whilst they are my own creations - not counting the few GW bits used - they are still based on sentinels. I essentially just went from the sentinel artwork in the IG codex and guessed at size, hence turning out bigger than the standard ones. They also look quite a bit like imperial walkers from Star Wars. I do wonder if GW shrunk and 'boxified' theirs just enough so they would pass comparison tests to escape 'ripping off star wars'.

I'm actually quite excited to get them primed up as it will be easier to see them as a cohesive piece when all one colour rather than the mix of white/grey/milliput colour. Although they might look terrible then!

I love how spindly the sentinels are! Glad that you took my advice, the ankles are good now.

well.. Skalk's thread (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/364272.page) has made me feel guilty about not having made any progress here in *looks* .. oh jeez months on end!! I got a new job that involves evening/weekend work so my painting times taken a hammering. I'm going to make a decent effort to get the sentinels done soon. One is half painted and the other is ready to be primed up. I've also got 2 leman russes sat waiting to be primed (still!) and the fact that they are next to the can of primer is not easing my guilt..

Hope people are still able to take some inspiration from this thread, and I really will try and get some more stuff sorted soon!

Wow. I just went back through this thread start to finish. I think I've run out of words to describe how much I like this.

The Zombie Guard caught my attention again and I saw things I am going to try on my next batch, such as using the IG arms but cutting off the hands and replacing w/ Zombie hands, GS some body armor around a Skeleton torso, etc.

I'm really glad you're opening this up again and work / scheduling is understood. Whatever you can offer will be appreciated and enjoyed greatly.

Thanks for the link as well. Imperial Renegades unite! Death to the False Emperor!

Just as I happened to loose hope in this thread being updated, you make me happy.

Just read this thread from the beginning, inspirational stuff! Your vets look so boss, & the PBS looks amazingly cool - I'm very envious of your GS skills. I'm in the process of creating my own renegade IG army atm, & there are a lot of cool ideas here. Keep up the excellent work.

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.

Damn. 3 months and still not an update. I know, I know.. this is terrible progress.

But! there is hope yet!! For lately I have been caught by the convertalust and so halfway through knocking up a prototype roughrider idea. To keep with the sorta dark mechanicus influence from the dark techmagos that I'm sure one day I will finish painting (possibly by 2020) I've gone with a bulked out upgraded servitor monstrosity bearing a dude on its back and charging forwards. I'll come up with some pics over the next few days once a bit more work is done on it as at the moment it won't quite convey the concept.

Additional to this the OOF is 99% finished - just gotta add some static grass to his base. As is the icon-bearer, who also needs his boots finished. Why is it trivial things like these seem to clog me up for ages on end?!

So yeah, to those who actually remember this thread - check it out I'm not dead!

and to those for whom this is all new, I hope you see something you like.

YEEESSS!!!

Oh yeah I remember this thread. And keep referencing back to it every time someone tells me my stuff is cool. Yeah, I built it... but a lot the inspiration came from right here. I am *wicked* psyched to see you back online, and any amount of work you have done is worthy of being posted. Looking forward to checking your work out. Like really looking forward. Almost "stalker" sort of looking forward.

Be very, very glad you live an ocean away...
