The 'exarch' looks positively BA, I really really like the back armor sculpt. It's amazing. One day I'll be sitting down to paint this guy, and it shall be thanks to you. Wicked talent chief.

Thank you all for your encouraging words

One of my blog readers asked for a size comparison of my female marines after seeing Jacqualine47's superb first castings, so I thought I'd post them here as well.

The art-scaled bodies are shown with the normal heads and the smaller heads sculpted for the female marines; I think the smaller heads helps give it a more art-scaled look. They are also sized to still fit onto the standard 25mm bases rather than the larger termie bases.

Excellent! Beautiful! I love the Manshees, very impressive sculpting!

Do you know what silicone and resin the caster in that last pic was using? I've been contemplating picking up some more "professional" materials that the putty and resin I get from the craft store.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

theunicorn, trocar101,

I did send her an e-mail asking about what silicone and resin she uses but she's off on vacation.

Brushfire,

Thanks! I've been considering doing this professionally. But I need to get a lot faster for that to be viable though

Absolutely perfect timing on this - I'm getting ready to cast my (very much more basic) female greatcoat guard torsos and was completely lost on their site. I'll give it a hard look and post the results on here later.

Absolutely fantastic sculpting work. Can't believe some of the detail you have managed to create.

Love the female and TS marines - look like I would expect them to if they were ever done by GW... except... well... actually good

Hey! Coyotius, the mold maker and caster extraordinaire and my partner on the Exorcists icons project, has posted pics of his Exorcists test paint using one of our sculpted shoulder pad:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/437615.page

It's really cool seeing how the pads look on a well painted model; you should go check it out

For those fellow Exorcists out there interested in getting your hands on some of these shoulder pads/icons for you own, you could try contacting coyotius. Maybe if you're real nice to him, you can talk him into casting up a set for you too

Absolutely. If there are any Exorcist players that want some pads or icons feel free to PM me. However, I'm a bit slow right now due to other obligations...until the summer.

They also make good librarian pads for those who don't play Exorcists.

@ whalemusic360: Just shoot me a PM and let me know which ones you'd be interested in...I'm assuming the ones with the =I= probably wouldn't be of use. I can post scale pics if you need me to...actually on pg 4 Space Corsair has the greens side by side...the =I= icons are roughly 1 to 1 1/8" high by 1" wide. That should give you a feel for the rest. The somewhat flat icons are/were intended for banners...our thoughts were that they could be heat shaped to conform to the wavvy surface, but thay could be used on anything really.

They were done using some epoxy resin that was dried harder and finer than green stuff. It was over a decade ago and I have no idea what the stuff was called anymore and haven't been able to find it since

Are there any good pictures of the Corsair's female Scorpion Exarch with other Eldar models for scale?

I am using my old-edition DE Incubi as Scorpion proxies for my Corsair army (they even have similar helm guns), and would love a good Exarch for them and I am eyeing her, but I heard about some sort of scaling issue?
