More good stuff! Not a fan of the GW legs on your torso though, looks like they have a big butt.

Great sculpts!

Was it a WIP female CSM I saw above?

This thread is very promising, and I will keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the encouraging words; it keeps me motivated and productive.

Mikalichou,
Sorry for the misspelling. It does sound like a good name for an IG commander though
Sazabi is one of my favorite robot designs; I wish the Tau battlesuits looked more like Zeon mobile suits such as Sazabi and Kampfer.

ReardenPro,
Don't know if this helps at all but: I start with placing a single sausage shaped greenstuff sideways across the chest, then depress the center of it with a sculpting tool to create the cleavage between the two breasts. Then I shape each side into a mound for each of the breasts, while removing excess green stuff as necessary from the edges, until I get the general size and shape I want. From there I shape each breast further by pressing in with a sculpting tool to define the side and the bottom undercut of the breast, followed by smoothing.

FantasyBob,

Yep! It's Priss

But can anyone guess who the little pistol packing critter is beside her?

JOHIRA,
If I ever find the time to figure out how to cast them, I might try selling them.

c0un7_z3ro,
Yep, we don't have to be realistic about everything; we are talking about Space Marines after all

whalemusic360,
Yeah, I'm not going to be using the GW legs. Thanks for getting in touch with Nick; he's keeping me busy

Hyenajoe,
I actually started the female Chaos Marine first but got side tracked. I'll get back to her soon.

I think I'm done. I'm rather pleased by how well the pose turned out.

It took me longer to get the weapon options done than the main figure itself :(

How long have you been scuplting for? Any arts background or work experience?

Just wondering really, because those are plain awesome, and I'm hoping it's not going to take me another decade or so before I move beyond in situ sculpts to scratch sculpts.

Massive win points for you sir.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

I still haven't had time to learn how to cast.

The Space Elf Lady Ninja is for Chapterhouse Studio and should be available for purchase once it goes into production.

Phayse,

I sculpted miniatures in my youth for a year or so as a hobby and then moved onto other distractions.

I'm a self taught artist with no formal art training. I have worked professionally as a 3d computer game artist for a decade before moving on to management.

I missed doing art by hand (there's just something very satisfying about being able to hold your work in your hands) and decided to get back into sculpting miniatures about 6 months ago.

I'm still learning from my mistakes as I go along and getting used to working with green stuff.

If you want to scratch sculpt, you should just dive in and go for it

My word
A space marine that doesn't looks like the bolter should be replaced with a guitar.
Please take note GW goodly SM legs

Impressive as ever Space Corsair.
The cuirass is nicely done with subtle curves.

The only thing is the right thigh is perpendicular from some angles but I love the energy of the poses, and the one with bolter is especially good imho
Looks like they have just jumped down from something and are about to spring forward.

I've got to get me one of those space elf niinjas.

I think you're right. The only way to get good at something is to for it. I've got some formal training ( failed to use my degree to do anything productive thus far!) but haven't really studied sculpture in any detail.

The fact you're self taught is something I find a lot of solace in - it means there's no reason I can't learn!

Yikes, it's been over a month since my last post.

I've been busy with real life. Yeah yeah, I know it's no excuse

I'll do some proper update tomorrow with what little I've managed to get done over the last month.

For now, here's quick rough concept sketch I did for Chapterhouse for the Manshee project I've just started. The design is still pending approval and I'm sure it will change as I translate the 2d concept into an actual 3d sculpt that works visually on the tabletop.

Really nice work on the Space Marine! One thing I still wish for is a female warface. Though the one currently on the mini looks great it doesn't express much, it's expression is rather calm compared to most male minis. In my experience It's quite rare to find human female faces that expresses emotion let alone ferocity. But still, great work, looks really good!

Really nice work you have here.

Fantastic female Eldar Exarch and congratulations on the cast as well.
You have really managed to make a model that is nicelly balanced with all of the different weapon layouts.
Perhaps she holds the double-handed sword a bit to far from her body, unbalancing her a bit, but it could be the picture lying.
