Hive Fleet Lazarus,

The scout arms are probably a better fit in relation to the size of the body. Not sure how well they work with the regular marine shoulder pads though.

After seeing Vrall's conversions, I'm thinking of sculpting robed/sleeved arms that match the body along with a more slender legs with surcoat. Thanks for the inspiration Vrall! You rock!

I have to finish sculpting the arms for the female infantry grunts first though. It's a bit tricky sculpting a pair of arms to hold a rifle properly with both hands since the GW rifles are over-sized

I'll see what I can do to sculpt a set of biker legs. I did a set of biker legs and arms for Chapterhouse for their Jetbike and that was pretty easy to do.

Of course that is if I can manage to find some time to sculpt. It's been really hectic at work

I've got a 3 day weekend coming up so I'm hoping to get at least some sculpting done. I'm taking Monday off in observance of Veterans Day; there's something sad about a veteran having to use his PTO to take a day off for Veterans Day

Space Corsair, your stuff is so good that it made me angry. Like others have said, I really like how your lady marines are obviously female without looking ridiculous. Normally I'm on the "But boobplates are just a bad idea" side of the debate, but 40K is so small there's not much else you can do to make it obvious. Especially since I also think taking your bulletproof helmet off during combat is an even worse idea.

I'm definitely pointing my friend in you direction when he starts his thunderwolf valkyries conversion.

Hey man, thanks for the mention , any chance you'd consider thinking about some female termi's? Thinking of making an ally grey knight "counts as" more elite sisters, using your female marine legs and bodies with grey knight force weapons for strike squads and was considering grabbing the tartarus pattern forge world termy bodies for the termy ladies, however if you're thinking of doing termis i might hold off with the latter .

If anyones interested heres some of my conversion pics .

Personally, I'm not sure how you'd sculpt that, being Termi Armour is so chunky anyway...

You're probably right ovion, just got shown a pic of a female tartarus pattern lady and turns out it works really well

Whoa, the sculpting work is spectacular! I can't even sculpt a moustache or hat properly!

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

Hey Vrall,

Like I posted earlier in reply to keyoftwilight:

"I'm not planning on doing any female terminators since I personally don't feel a need for it in my own army at that level of armor coverage.

Besides, if I do female terminator marines, someone's bound to ask for female Dread's "

As you mentioned, the Tartaros pattern termie suits works pretty well with the female heads.

I'm finally back to sculpting after a long hiatus imposed by my work schedule. I'm currently still working on getting the rust out my sculpting skills

I'll post some stuff this weekend. Cheers!

I know this is a bit of threadomancy, but the quality of your scuplts is fantastic and so here's a free bump.

I did actually have a question, however. I was trying my damnedest to find your manshees on the glorious interest but couldn't for the life of me remember what they were called. Eventually through the powers of deduction, I found this thread. And your blog! You mentioned that you got your models out to Chapterhouse so they could produce them... my question to you is, do you know when they will be available? They are amazing!

Jut read through the whole lot of this, and to repeat what everyone has said, your sculpts are fantastic. Didn't really pay attention if this was already said, but if you managed to make a sculpt for crisis suits that made them less blocky than the curernt XV-8's...well.. lets just say there are more than a few people who would be willing to purchase

anticitizen013,

Thanks for your kind act of threadomancy

I have no idea what the wait is with the Howling Hounds. Last I heard, Chapterhouse was getting a set painted up for the store pics about a month ago. I hope they are going to to go into production and sales soon; I'm really looking forward to painting them myself.

StarHunter25,

Thanks for the compiments. I'm still working on the battle suit as time allows, which admitedly hasn't been much lately. But I'm hoping 2013 proves to be a good productive year for my hobbies

Currently I'm finishing off my female soldiers; I'm haivng lots of fun sculpting little hands and arms posed to hold tiny little rifles

That and a female space marine legs for riding on bikes.

Wish me luck!

Those female Marines are awesome, but I'd really love to see more progress on your IG stuff, since fluff-wise they'll actually exist.

Hey guys, hijacking Space Corsairs thread again. I recently created my first real blog over on blogger, and am desperately in need of an audience. My blog is about my sisters of battle army that I am making using Space Corsairs fe-marine parts. Im currently in the process of bringing it up to date with my dakka dakka forum blog, but will soon add new posts about the gaming side of my force rather than just the hobby. Please check me out!

Are the female marines still available anywhere? I'm not finding anything on the Chapterhouse site and now I'm really stuck on having these girls in my army Please tell me I can still get them!

Sorry Lizzifer,

As Zuul mentioned, Meow Meow Miniatures closed shop

I don't have any extra figure beyond what I need for my own army so I can't help you either.

Speaking of miniatures you can't get anymore, here's my female commissar cast in resin ( I just realized I haven't posted a pic of it yet). She's going to be my next painting project.

Is that a cat, or a pony? Please be a cat, please be a cat, please be a cat... Either way it's freaking me out, but much less so if it was a cat.

Sure it can be a cat if it makes you feel better; at least until I give her manes, flowing tail and a unicorn horn

No, not "pwnies"! Oh well, who cares, it's still freakin' cool and way better than my skills! I don't remember if you ever mentioned this, but what tools do you use?

For what it's worth, here are my main sculpting tools:

A Citadel standard metal sculpting tool, a pointy metal stick thingy, an exacto knife, a set of size 0 extra-firm clayshapers( flat chisel, angle chisel, taper point and cup chisel),
rounded ball tip stylus and my fingers.

Citadel standard sculpting tool: used for spreading green stuff onto things and general shaping. It has two ends but I've only used the one shown in the pic.

Pointy metal tool(what are these things called?): used for marking guidelines, scultping small details like faces (particularly the eyes) and creases.

Exacto knife: used a lot like the standard sculpting tool to spread green stuff over an area and to create flat areas. Also handy for cutting and trimming green stuff

Size 0 EX-Firm Clayshapers are generally used for smoothing layers of green stuff. I highly recommend picking up a set if you are going to be working a lot with green stuff

Flat chisel is used for smoothing areas,
Angle chisel is used for smoothing creases and small sharp crevices. I rarely use this tool.
Taper Point has a rounded point and used for smoothing out rounded areas.
Cup chisel is used for pressing on new layers of green stuff and spreading it out to where I want it to go like the standard metal sculpting tool. This one, along with the standard sculpting tool, is used to create the general mass and shape.

Rounded ball tip stylus is used for making rounded indentations in the sculpt like eye sockets for skulls. Not used very often but handy to have around when you need it.

Of course the most often used tool for smoothing and creating general shape is my finger tips

Hi, great work.
Any Idea where to get your minis/ bits now that Meow Meow Miniatures is closed?

Good question! No clue

Unless I can find another dedicated caster like Jacqualine who would be willing to sacrifice the time and effort to cast them for us, I'm going to have to learn how to cast them myself.

No idea how I would find the time to do that though; I hardly even have enough time to sculpt these days.

Here's to hoping somebody turns up to pick up that torch and carry it. I really could use more of your fine sculpts.

They were done using some epoxy resin that was dried harder and finer than green stuff. It was over a decade ago and I have no idea what the stuff was called anymore and haven't been able to find it since

The female in Power armor is from Bubblegum Crisis. I wanna say Priss. Have you done any of the others? If so have or will you cast them? I would love to have all 4 of them. You have some damn good skills.

I really hope you find another seller. I could really use some of your female guard figs.

And the pony. Definitely the pony.
