Yes, and that reason is the number of adolescents that play 40K. Most of them haven't a clue or the slightest insight into the background (or at best have read a William King novel), and never move beyond the "What? They are drunken Space Werewolf Vikings? And they're like, totally anti-establishment? Winning!"

They'll learn to know better once they're old enough to start thinking with their forebrain.

So everyone who voted Leman Russ has no idea about the background or cannot think?

Rogal Dorn, cause he helped the most deffending the Imperium and he deserves better
Dont get why everyone is so up space wolves , yes they have some mystery, but being a mysterious person is what turn on women
and i dout that there are more women here than men
Admitly i havent read much on them, but some i have and they dont supres the gleming golden becon of hope and turth that is/was Rogal Dorn
For me Imperial Fists have a better feeling, and there chapter Master has a thunder hammer in each hand and a mounted storm bolter

another poll, Did you vote lemen russ

because you actualy know something about him
You play space wolves and what the heck
space wolves sounds cool

I voted for both Magnus and Alpharius.

Magnus - tried to help Daddy but was then betrayed by him. Yet led his followers into the Warp to save them(and himself). Now Daddy's butt is permanently stuck to the throne. He should have listened to Magnus.

Alpharius - I like his story best. Is he for Chaos or the Imperium? Is he alive or dead? The mystery behind this guy makes him all the more interesting.

I will never understand the attraction to Russ, but I don't understand the people that wear shirts with wolves on them. Their are a lot of wolf t-shirts out there. If Russ had a buddy named styles then it would all make sense though.

Magnus didn't listen to the Emperor first, in fact he basicly ruined the Webway project. It's also not clear if it was Horus who tricked Russ into killing the Thousand Sons or if he just judged it necessary.Besides he made a deal with Tzeentch did you expect everything to go well for his chapter after that.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re on a constant Crusade, keeping it real for the Emperor and not bumming around like the other guys. They hate psykers and can’t ally with them. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

What's with the Russ hate. Am I the only one to have read Prospero Burns and Thousand Sons and think "Dang, Russ is one awesome blender o' intrigue and death!". If I were the Big E during the beginnings of the Heresy, I think the sons I thank my luck stars for are (in order): Russ, Dorn, and Guilliman.

That being said, I voted for Guilliman, running the IoM and basically reconquering the planets of the last half of the 1st Crusade from the combined forces of almost 4 traitor legions and all of the traitor Guard and the Dark Mechanicum (after sending Kor Phaeron and the crying poets packing)... all while creating the closest thing to paradise in the IoM, pretty impressive, IMO.

They are all the best, in their own individual way, hence the reasons they were used to be the progenitors of effectively a new race of humans. Some excelled in assault tactics, some in troop management and motivation, some in fleet tactics. There is no real way to say which one is the best with no categorization.

It's kinda like asking "what's the best car out there?" Best car for what? Racing, mileage, reliability?
