I really like the background for your Imperial Guard! Very elite, as they should be. I'd also have thought that they'd be accompanied by many priests, as they're from the holiest planet in all the Imperium! Anyway, just an idea. Cool stuff!

One of the things I did when I started selling my SoB is keep 1 of each superior to serve as my priests. ^.^ I thought they would look good for priests or in this case, priestesses.

Long time no see. I got swamped last year with school and RL issues and haven't had much time for the hammer. Heck, if you check my gallery you will notice about 40 pictures I uploaded last year for a battle report I didn't get time to finish.

I am hoping to get back into my 40k stuff, but for now, I'm having a lot of RL problems and need to sell a ton of my stuff unfortunately. 2011 I overbudgeted Warhammer and now I need to ditch a lot.

If you had any Guard stuff in your trade thread I'd take it off your hands. But seeing as I'm getting rid of my Marines to focus on Guard, I can't really buy much.

I just have that Vostroyan army for sale. I don't really want to get rid of my hostile environment cadians, elysian weaponry or vultures but they're all new still lol.

Funny story, I don't want to get rid of the HE Cadians so bad, I turned down $60/10 as they sit from my friend who always buys stuff off me. It's just too much of a pain to replace FW stuff. When I have to sell something, everyone ends up thinking the price on the FW site is the final price while neglecting everything that happens after you click add to cart: (Credit Card Foreign Exchange Fees, Shipping, UPS Brokerage fees, Customs fees which are 13% in addition to the brokerage. My last order from FW cost me over $100 to clear customs after spending $400... which was ridiculous. I got a brokerage fee of $30 from UPS which makes no sense since FW is supposed to be covering the shipping costs but hey lol

Truth be told: I forgot to pay my insurance last month and I have about a week before they try to take the money out again so I'm a bit desperate to get rid of a lot of things at once preferably. Don't ask how I am also entirely broke, it's just stupidity. You heard me.. stupidity. :/

The ruinous powers of Chaos, already stole my marriage from me and corrupted my wife into the sweet temptations of Slaanesh.. time to purge the heretics with bolter and flamer, with chainsword and fury! err um yeah.. real life. cannot do that.

Hopefully it'll all get better and you'll be able to come back a new. Honestly, i havent touched my minis in a while ether. School has been terrible this semester (3 classes in 1 day and the other ones are spread out or at odd hours, [who the hell starts a class at 3:25 ?] ) anyway I still want to do that advisor swap with ya, but i went home this christmas and found my parents had thrown out the paints cause my little brother got into them and got them everywhere on the carpet so it might be a while coming once i get back into the swing of modeling. Plus the idea of filing down 100+ cadian shoulder pads on my tanith isnt a fun idea. I think ive done like 5? hahaha.

So much shame on my part.

Hopefully things will look up though still wanting to play SWTOR with ya. Let me know when your on.

Really, it doesn't sound like you're having at all a good time, and I am very sorry to read it. The quote from 40k "hope is the first step onto the road of disappointment" is not true, not at all.

Here's to wishing you a much better remainder of 2012, perhaps it won't be now, but keep the faith and things will get better.

I like to always think, what does not kill me, will make me stronger. I'm quite excited for the new Warhammer stuff to come this year anyways, ecspecially the release of 6th edition. It has seemed best, to not work on any of my armies or ideas for armies until I have the new codices in my hands.

I'm sorry to hear about your school my man, I know how that is this year, I picked up a pair of extra courses to boost my GPA and it isn't a great strategy when I haven't been attending. That also really sucks with the paints.

I want to do the swap with you as well and I know we will one day. I'm with you on the it might be awhile, I am going to wait for 6th Edition stuff to start releasing before I make any final decisions on what I am going to do. I am hoping we get some TOR down together, it would have rocked if you originally levelled on my server, as I lead the top pvp/pve guild for Republic! So it's quite hard for me to even really play other servers as my guild is always needing me for one thing or the other.


As an aside:

I have been loving the return of the Dark Angels possibly, I've always been a fan of the First Legion and over the years I've had both Ravenwing/Deathwing and normal DA forces; as they have been one of my favorite chapters. Since they got sidelined, most of those kind of armies did as well.

As much as I loved the idea of the Astral Claws, I think that it will be more of an incorporation into a diorama project in the future; with the one painted squad being finished.

I was gearing up to work on my Black Templars again, but it seems, they will likely not be next for marine treatment, but the Dark Angels perhaps. After collecting all the stuff for my guard, I feel kind of funny to not be making them but I think I went overboard there to, it was just something to fill time and I don't know why but the idea of moving all those flyers in an actual 40k match is starting to seem less appealing outside an apocalypse game.

With that in mind, if they are doing Dark Angels next, I am thinking of doing a Fallen Angels force perhaps. Yeah.. I could rant forever on here if I got the chance sometimes.

It's been a long time since I did anything 40k related, aside from sell stuff (haha) and now that some of the dust has settled I've been considering what to do with my stuff until 6th edition hits. As I mentioned before, I was going to work on an Imperial Guard force (Elysian themed) but I sold the dozen valkyries I collected and my 3 vulture gunships and I'm left with roughly 50 Cadian Hostile Environment from Forge World among other things... been trying to figure out something to do with them.

As for my marines, I really want to avoid finishing my astral claws (Which I've decided will actually remain a much smaller force for 1500pt games) and until I'm sure what's up, my Black Templars are also going to be crusading in their case; alone. I considered using the 30 odd bikes I have to do a ravenwing army, but Dark Angels will be out soon (this year?) and I will be left likely swapping units etc.. which I want to avoid.

What I have in excess though are rhino hulls, sisters of battle (70+ sisters, 30+ seraphim...) and forge world hostile environment cadians...

I have no desire to do a guard army but I did come up with an interesting way I might do my SoB after exams are finished up for me.

The Hostile Environment Cadians (I have the elysian weapons to put on them to) would actually make some perfect stand ins for Dominions. Yes, I have the sisters squads to do it but... the sisters models are all the same for the most part and you can only stomach seeing so many of them over and over.

With this in mind, I planned out 5 squads of Battle Sisters to form the core of my army to be mounted in dozer blade rhinos (vindicator dozer blades) no less. (2 fully helmeted squads, these were hard to collect up)

I also considered 3 squads of 10 Dominions, using the Hostile Environment Cadians which I thought would make great stand ins and also could be explained as Schola Progenum Stormtroopers supporting the sisters or a million other things.

If you don't know the models, the HE Cadians are all uparmored with masks and rebreathers and would add something different to the army in terms of appearance.

Any thoughts, I'll get some pictures posted this week of what I have put together. The army is designed to be mostly thematic, representing the mixed forces of a battle preacher as he beats down heretics. They would also be crusading buddies with my Templars.

BT and DA sounds like it'll be a interesting things to see. Just start slowly and come back a new.

As for the sisters + IG theme, i think theme wise the best way to run it would be a GK codex. Inq cortez unlocks henchman. Sisters could be henchmen in power armour with bolters and the stormies could use Hotshot lasguns instead and not have to be proxied. It also gives you alot of room to work and your not using that nasty WD codex. Rhinos , chimeras and all the other goodies are in there too. As for priest, they are in the henchman area as well and given that your IG were gonna be terrian IG having them work with the Ordos on titan would make sense from a fluff PoV.

Anyone tries to accuse you of bandwagioning , point out you have zero GK models in your army. problem solved. Hopefully you'll be around more and give my P&M some looks. Ive been making progress (slowly) but surely.

Its great to see a friend back! I would have to see what your doing to decide, I think that I would hold on SOB, or do what swampy is saying

Sorry man.. I sold them all locally to avoid any kind of problems and to make a maximum profit.. lol $60 a valkyrie is a good price in canada, but in US that is retail. I really needed the cash, trust me, I did not want to do it.

It's not a bad idea though. Just not for me really. I just want to do something with these FW Cadians and Elysian Weapons. I also like 9-10 rhinos in a 1500pt army driving around firing off melta & flamer.

Thanks man. I just wanted to do something different. I've been doing drop pod marines since 3rd for the most part.

I still have to finish painting the last of my astral claws and basing, but I did get a lot more work on them. The problem is just having all these marine armies. We're also forgetting, I haven't played a game of 40k since that gallery upload of a battle report that never got written of my vostroyans vs tau. I think this is gonna have to be a moment where we agree to disagree. I think GK would be a better style for what your trying to do theme wise and rules wise but if you want to stick with the sisters and proxy the IG in thats cool too.

Yeah, I'm sorry about the valks/vultures. I scored most of them average $20-$35 and got approximately $60 each though which was pretty amazing I think considering some of them were pure bitz without any extras. I also managed to get $100 each for my vultures and sold the weapons separate so all in all it was a pretty decent endeavor for me collecting the vehicles!

As for the sisters thing, I am one of the few people (all 12 of us?) who played them with the old codex so I've always had a like for them. It's just a shame that the WD codex is so limited in terms of options.... I don't see another codex for them anytime soon though, which is a shame because they're a unique army.
