tbh the wording for that is terrible. The first time I read it I wasn't sure whether it meant i could only use each power once in the game. Anyway, I'm pretty sure It only meanss one power per turn
Looking forward to the pictures

Well you can roll more than one dice to see if you can use a spell (If you didn't know you could do that, you probably do ), so his mighty store of will, his free will and very low dice (comparatively) to complete spells make him one of (or the) the best wizard/spell person going
Haha well maybe, my painting it pretty bad

Ah yeh, I remember now, so it ain't that bad after all yeh he has very low casting values with is great
Nah man, you have some good skills, not bad at all
Ok so a small update for you all. I know that my bow captain is the last model I have started and therefore should really be the last I finish but I kinda skipped up the queue to be the first one totally done Behold:
I took my time for once and I am very happy with the result but unfortunately the camera I use is not great, time to crack out my dad's canon 450 I think! Managed the eye's, triple highlights, red skin done to a 50/50 red/orange hue, the lot! Complete with swamp base Well Grishnahk, you shall never be unloved again
I also promised pictures of the siege the other night, I'll add a little commentary from what I remember:
An overview
The defenders
The attackers
The attackers reach the wall. Lurtz and a captain have already had to expend their fate, will and some might to stay alive
The troll reaches the gate and scores to batter points in the first turn against it
The defenders repel the first wave, I think they won every combat this turn and killed a few Uruk's, a couple also fell to their doom
Goblins scale the wall and surprise the defenders
The defenders stand strong and to this point have only lost one combat, the hole was plugged when I won a contested heroic move and pushed the Uruks back
Gandalf finds himself in mortal combat with a captain and wins. However the goblin numbers prove their worth on the gatehouse. Tea also arrives
Uruk-hai begin to gain a foothold
The defenders are beginning to buckle
They are over the ramparts!!
I lose every combat this turn except gandalfs and boromirs if I remember correctly
Only Boromir is making any impact on the gatehouse, below him the troll is killing defenders by the handful
The attackers achieve their purpose and begin to storm across the walls to the tower and gatehouse, only a king of men and a handful of defenders stand in the way
This last turn I lost about a dozen men. The toll was beginning to show as I lost combat after combat. My rolling was not good as usual
I gave them the match as it was nearly midnight and I had work the next day A lot of fun overall and some very silly moments with Uruk-Hai falling of ladders and such.
We also put Boromir to the test:
He took on 12 goblins, we ignored the rules, the all got fight and Boromir still came out on top! We tried it again with Uruk crossbows but I rolled bad and he fell after killing 7 of 14, had I rolled better he would have done the lot I reckon!
Hope you all enjoy the pretty pictures!
Oh and before I forget, ordering my trackers either today or tomorrow so watch this space, my 250pt competitive Angmar complete may be just around the corner!

Your captain looks good although there is something about his skin I just don't quite like it looks a little bold? If you get me maybe it's just the camera. Not that it looks bad
The siege...
Looks...
AMAZING!
Reminds me of sieges I used to do when I was young and it looks just as hectic as well Did the attackers/defenders have the same points or did you give the attackers more?
I still don't get why a fruit stall was selling that fort though

He does have very bold skin but it really isn't as bold as in the picture, the purple is also more in your face in the picture. I'll have to borrow my dad's canon
It was very, very hectic. Struggled to keep track to be honest The defenders had about 1200pts and the attackers I would guess anywhere near 2k to double the defenders, Robbie kept finding old guys and being like 'oh look, forgot I had him!' and 'would you believe it, a cave troll!' It really is nuts looking through a collection a few years later and leaving it totally untouched.

In the end it does tend to sink in It was a hell of a lot of fun, even when your losing it can be great as your men pull back across the wall to safe havens or make last stands in pockets and are slowly driven from the walls, makes me want to play another

Me too, there is something about being the defender, maybe it's the acts of heroism all across the walls

You can also try throwing them into a simple program and tweak the colours
(Art Weaver is free and is able to do so there are a lot of programs that can help you with this)

Welcome to the Blog mate Yeh they are very handy! They can really make the scene It was dude, give it a go yourself!
Ok folks, here is your update, if you have been monitoring the LOTR forum section then you will know that me, trond and sharazad think Eowyn is rather nice. So what better way to appreciate her than to paint a mini! No only have I painted an Eowyn mini but it's the dress version, one of the nicest mini's in the entire range!
Feast your eyes:
Damn face wouldn't focus but fear not!
The rear (now now people ) The shine of the varnish comes out too much in the photos, not that shiny usually, must be the bright light.
Another front shot.
Light was a little much here but the red is shown well, my photography must improve!
The best picture of her face, couldn't get it to quite focus, don't know why but I'm sure you can see the detail in the eyes and lips.
Hope this appeases you peoples, I think she's my best work yet and was an absolute joy to paint!

Thanks S.
Yeh you can, everything is so much clearer!! I will repost my captain with this treatment too
Was really pleased with the skin, not a fan of painting pale skin as I usually fluff it so glad it came off well. The dress has had 3 highlights but I don't suppose the light has helped that, I don't do any stark highlights as I prefer a more subtle yet strong tone rather than inyourface strong if you see what I mean. Also the last highlight was about a 50/50 mix of blazing orange and blood red, anymore highlights and her dress may have become too orange and that would not have been good

It's sometimes hard to judge when a colour is too much, so I probably stopped a little short of what I might have been able to do but I'm glad that I stopped where I did
Oh! Also forgot to mention that I'm painting up some riders, currently the six for my list I am doing combined with my Minas Tirith. Turns out that there were 10 riders in the box I picked up from the carboot (mentioned earlier in the blog) not six! So that was 10 riders for £3! Now I just need some bases, they didn't have any.............

Made me chuckle Cheers man, another helping follows!
So after discovering this new spot for photography with my minatures, I revisited my bow captain/grishnahk and also tried something. Turns out that because my phone is stupid it focuses more on the background so by placing an object behind it I can get focus on the face, cue a small black diary........
The rear shot ain't so good but the front shot finally shows off the detail I applied to the face, finally a happy bunny with a good photo up of him!
Also re-took a pic of Eowyn's to get the face in:
Still not great but the best photo yet for seeing the detail on the face, I will get it right!
Thought I would also show you what is happening with the current riders of rohan, not a lot but hey it's progress
They just look as though they are chilling! Hope this appeases you Sharazad
Will try and get the red done and the metal washed tonight. Horses have to wait until I grab a few bases for them.
