I would like to throw my 2 cents into this contest.
In the interest of fairness, would it be appropriate if i used a piece of terrain that i had started, but not finished?
If it helps, the piece i would like to use is a building i made out of foamcore and plaster, but it's just the rough shape of the building. I never did any detail work to it.

IF you include the per regulations needed materials...the whole package range of one package of cookies of your choice then there is no arguing involved... then i would happily include you statas...did that answer your question?

Thanks a lot for the kind words - glad the door went down well! It was a happy accident really, the shape of the box needed something that stuck out instead of an inlaid door, and this seemed like a fun way to do it. I feel like i'm kind of crowding the thread here, so here's one shot of my progress, and I'll go in depth on my blog. Feel free to ignore!
(Apologies about the lighting - most of it isn't glued in place, and taking shots there seemed one hell of a lot easier than piecing in back together under my work lamp )
More in my own blog if you're interested, feel free to ignore if not!

Progress! I started working on the roof and put some PVA-and-sand-mix on the wooden base. With a few random bit and pieces stuck into it, it looks quite good:
and the rear. I made some tracks where the trukk will be parked:
the roof is some good ol' cardboard, with the top layer removed. looks ok i think:
and here is the the mess I created... gotta tidy this up tomorrow.... -_-

Seems I've been missing a lot of good stuff whilst off. Like this neat little comp that caught my eye whilst trying to grasp what I've missed.
All good stuff, and that last update Scarp....
So I'll try and throw something together for this...but bearing in mind my previous history and the fact my future sdchedule seems to be so crammed there's no room to write 'busy' in there....
Obviously the first step was to buy some more cookies
Next the ardous task of eating some of the spoils of war.
Then we start to play:
After washing down the cookies with some tea obviously.
After strengthening the inside with a few layers of pva and some of the cardboard box the chosen packet got stuck to some foamboard and had a camera battery compartment stuck to it.
In place of plasticard, work was done with the cardboard box, except the pipework. Athough there are some battered copper pipes to be added which were made with the card. Some cabling was formed from layers peeled from the box, and bits of the cellophane are being used as rags and tarpaulin.

I'll be posting my first few WIP pics tonight... It took me long enough to find some cookies in this house, let alone a piece of intact packaging...
So far though it looks like i'm gfoing to be the only one that does not turn the packaging upside down. I intend to create a raised section of overlapping sludge pools... Kinda like the golddigger pools of the old west... But with necropocalypse sludge...

Thanks for the kind words on my stuff, guys!
@Mr M - Fantastic work! Reminded me at first glance of one of those long pre-fab military barrack buildings - it's already hard to tell that there's a cookie box in there, so kudos to you. Love the sand too - just a mix of PVA and sand you say? It looks great for it, and the tracks are a nice touch. Wonderful start.
@Monkeytroll - That is a lot of delicious cookies! And what a product too! I really like all the little details on the piping and the sidings, and that camera bit is one hell of a find. Your box looks a lot like mine, so I'm sure you'll take it in the spirit of competition if I say that you should stop working immediately and throw it away Great start though!
And ace to see you're on board too MauS - can't wait to see what you get up to!
Sort of relevant update! Neil very kindly gave me the recipe for his awesome sump, and I've been trying to do something similar. This is a test piece - not the base that my terrain will go on, but a test ground that will do as a mini pool for some later terrain. I've got the first few layers down (still 3 or 4 to go!). Hope you like!

Haha, so you did! Much faster than I am
In the past, I've found that the 'Realistic water' stuff can take up to a week to dry completely, but I've never used this much before! Plus it's getting mixed with inks, washes, wood polish and the blood of cattle slaughtered during a full moon, so who knows how it'll work...
EDIT: Oh crap! Neil made me promise not to mention that last one. Just pretend you didn't read it.

This is so cool. I'd love to join the competition with an old terrain piece that I never finished, but I don't think I'd really be up to the deadline... having never painted a terrain piece yet.

Thanks guys - good to be back.
GG - Hey, I didn't even manage to complete my entries for the two YEAR-LONG comps I was in. And I hardly have a good reputation for fast work besides that - as a quick glance at various parts of my desk will attest - GMS, Waagh Dakka, etc etc. Plus having no time at all in the near future
It just means you have to think a bit smaller
Case in point - the pipe on the side of my generator thingummybob. When I first added that battery compartment I envisaged a veritable network of fully flanged pipes running down the side, into the ground and over the top. A rare flash of reality somehow managed to find it's way into the recesses of my mind and I downgraded to a single un-flanged pipe as I knew there was a marginal chance that it could be finished.
I think I'm trying to tell you to get on it
Anyways, progress:
Oh, yeah - those are plastruct elbows Dave - I've not yet discovered a good way to bend pipes that big. They're very handy, but require a bit of filling and filing for more open pipework due to the nasty ol' punch out marks on one side.
The afore-mentioned beaten copper* pipes and a dodgy view of the other side.
Oh my! Is that colour already?
League members will be interested to know that currently there are cardboard rivets, dress-pin rivets and water-filter bead rivets in place.
No doubt there will be a chance to add more cabling/chains/junk etc after a bit more work with the crayons brushes.
*Colours and materials may be subject to change.

Looking good Monkey!!!
Btw, there is a method I've seen for bending plastruct tubing and it's effective.
basically it's the same method that plumbers use for a quick bend. you use a long spring, something like you'd find inside curtain wire, you insert it inside the pipe, heat the pipe in the area you want to bend, and simply bend it. once the pipe is cool and set in the new possition you should be able to jimmy the spring clear from it. but you do need the spring to be nearly as thick as the inned dimensions of the tube your bending. I have to admit I havent tried it, but it seems effective.

Yeah, I've used similar techniques for narrower pipes, and very small diameters can be bent fairly easily with hands and patience, but I've not got good results with larger bores. Spring is a good idea though, I would default to flexible wire for the job, I'll have to give it a go sometime.

The spring idea's a good one from what I've seen, trouble is it's better to use a jig when doing it, otherwise you get all kinds of gaky angles lols...
