Agreed.
I also just liked the 70s feeling of the ending.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Oh no. I'll just have to go and watch it again....
If the music in GotG v2 isn't sufficiently on the nose, perhaps you might watch Suicide Squad instead? SS uses music about as effectively as George Lucas' Strange Magic...

Watched Suicide Squad, and my eyes committed seppuku and my ears dropped off whilst my brain boiled from the sheer inanity of it all.

The Stan Lee cameo revelation that came about because of this movie was particularly sweet.
Did think some of the comic parts were turned up to far into 'zany' territory, but overall the movie was great.
Spoiler:
It was awesome when the big 'revelation' of Ego to Peter happened towards the end of the movie, and my whole audience did a kind of sub-audible gasp that translated to "Holy...gak. Starlord's gonna smoke you for that."

Apparently Nathon Fillion filmed a scene as Wonder Man, but it was cut from the theatrical release. Oh well, that's what DVD extras are for!
Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

It was good but...I think at times it felt like they were trying too hard to be funny. It was like "omg, first movie was so funny, we need to up the game even more!"

I just saw the movie today (with my family) and I loved it! Baby Groot had some great moments (well, really all of them did), and of course the mix of humor and a fairly dark story was good.
Spoiler:
Is it just me, or was Kurt Russell's character one of the most evil villains in any movie ever? He literally considers all other life beneath him, and he purposefully killed the woman he supposedly loved (and bragged about it to their son, no less). Talk about a first-rate douchebag!
Spoiler:
The Mary Poppins thing was awesome! Yondu was even better in this movie than in the first one, so it was really sad to see him go. Maybe Sylvester Stallone's character will sort of take his place in the series now. Or else it'll be that guy who was trying to learn how to use the arrow in that post credits scene (probably my favorite of the post credit scenes!).
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Enjoyed the first one and enjoyed this one. The character development was good, and the ending with Yondu was very moving. He ended up being one of my favorite characters. The fact that the Ravagers all showed up for him at the end also does a lot to develop the group as a whole, showing how tight-knit they can be. The humor was good and most of it hit on the right beats, none of it was too jarring (except where it was supposed to be). The way they handled the beginning fight scene was great too.
Definitely one of the better Marvel films, alongside GotG vol. 1.
Saw it over the 3 day weekend. Thought it was very well done. Good character arcs, solid acting throughout and the whole "family" theme as very well done. Plenty of humor and action, but suitably grim at points.
Now just need a toy baby Groot that says "I am Groot" for the wife.
