I think there's an Argonian in Solitude that wants you to do something seedy for him, but my first paythrough is with a good character so I didn't inquire further.
Yeah, I've seen him. I'm pretty sure he wants you to put out the light in a lighthouse.

Yeah, you put out the lighthouse and then bad begets bad. I hate fighting dragons in a town mainly because they land on the roofs and just laugh at you as you pathetically try to hit them with your sword.
Found my first Dragon Priest in Shearstone(?) and got steam rolled mainly because I was wearing light armor(thieves guild quests and I was using it as a waypoint).
@Karon, yeah there are different stories concerning Whiterun but considering the story leading up to Skyrim, Skyrim's independence will most likely be the canon.
On a side note, does anyone know if the companions are deemed "important" NPC's after their questline? I plan to murder them all after all is said and done.

Oh that reminds me, I killed my first Dragon Priest yesterday... Got lots of nice loot... BUT... Lydia died... So.... I looted her corpse, and sold the armor I made for her...

I love that they put more information about the Elder Scrolls into Skyrim. I always thought they were just history written down by monks that had never understood the concept of Proper lighting when reading.

Yeah, I can't deal with people talking on my newest character. If they're talking, I can't hear, and if I can't hear, I don't know what to murder next. I'd probably whip around at the sound of my follower's voice and put an arrow in their throat.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable. |

Same here. I play a stealth-heavy character, so companions that tend to run ahead like maniacs and stop me from one-shotting everything just make my life harder.
Seriously, using the Blade of Woe + Dark Brotherhood Gloves + Stealth Perk = damn near 800 damage on a backstab. I have no problems fighting anything unless I have a game-enforced companion with me at the time.

That is pretty bad, but not as bad in a fun way as it is to max out lock picking by taking the skill to be undetected and unlock every house in the town you go to.

Lydia guards Breezehome for me, I was using her a lot at the start, but she was becoming a crutch. In the sense I would redo a fight if she died, and all she was really doing was carrying rubbish for me. Seems more appropriate to be guarding the house, wife is there as well. I've used other companions, but they have either died, that aggressive lass from the Inn in Whiterun died with an arrow in the eye, a cocky mage I hired fell foul of a Dragon etc, but each time they die I'm left with a annoying overencumbered run back to a town, back to their body etc to sell everything. So of late I've not been using them. Still find it amusing when they die and you get their housekey, the game treats their house as yours.

If you have raise dead, you can raise the corpse of someone, load them up with equipment as a mule, port back to a town and they will despawn at the gate dropping all the loot
I'm using Lydia atm with a nasty two hander and shes fairly devastating (level 20 only btw) but I agree with Morathi on fights where she dies I always reset which can be a pain.
I've befriended a few mages in the college. Are they worth taking as companions?
Is there a way of porting out of a dungeon half way through? I ran out of arrows lastnight mid way and it was quite annoying. In Morrowind there was a recall spell.

Same, the followers drive me bonkers, setting off traps, alerting everyone within 8 miles and other nonsensical stuff.
I intend to go through as a mage or heavy armour next time and have one, but for now, my anti social antics are hindered by them.

Oh I'm pure warrior, and I still don't take them. Mostly because if just one of my attacks hits them they get rocketed away. (my damage is now high enough to sometimes mimic giants).
Training 2handed weapons now, Volendrung is a fun weapon, which I'm using purely for the hell of it, cause my own forged hammer is actually better.
Regular dragons now die from regular hit. Frost 2 hits, Blood 1 power attack, Blood dragons 2 power attacks.
This game is way to easy.
Achievement progress is also good, only need to do thiefs guild and brotherhood for quest related achievements. Then the level 50 one, and pickpocketing and I'm about done.
Got 50 skill books yesterday, got 20 shouts learned, got all 15 deadric artifacts, got about 100 dragonsouls out of boredom, and I'm at 95k gold. Horay.

Crank the difficulty up.
@pacific, pots can work well vs magic, there are lots of +resist potions you can get.
Also there is a low level spell in the.....alteration tree(?) called barrier which absorbs magic attacks. Not sure how useful it would be at high levels without upgrades but you can get it from Winterhold college very early on. Worth a look.
