Spoiler:

To those outside of House Orlock, the sentimentality shown to their dogs is unusual, but for those within the clan, they will happily spend creds on cybernetics for their hounds to compensate for past injuries. The House of Iron book also introduces a new Orlock-specific Hive Scum, D060-K13, a Hardcase Cyber-mastiff.

I like the art but the models don't really live up to it. I'm guessing they're saving the fully cybered doggo for the special character equivalent then?

The art is a special character doggo that likely will only be available via Forge World.

I have the genuine question thought on that Gang base, and if there was another one that was posted about a few months back that fell off the radar, for the Eshers.
Was there such a base, or is the one for the Orlocks base pictured above the only one so far?

In the article in which they first showed off this one, iirc they called it a generic gang stronghold, nothing Orlock specific.

The article on the Warhammer Community clearly implies the rules are included in the base's box.

Zone Mortalis: Gang Stronghold

Home is where the gang is! Protect your hard-won turf with this fully modular terrain kit for Necromunda. Designed to work seamlessly with the Zone Mortalis range, you can either use it to expand your existing collection or create your own bespoke gang HQ that will really show your rivals you mean business. It even comes complete with new rules to help defend your turf!

So I doubt it will be in the House of Iron book.

I wonder how many weapons so called "arms master" get access to on their house list, and how "pointing hands with shotgun" got chosen over the other weapons.

Agreed. That's easily a sitting at attention position for a slender dog breed like a doberman.

Great. Now my expectations are raising in hopes of an honest to goodness dognaught.

Do we want an upright one? One encased in armor like a juggernaut? Extra limbed? Equipped with flamers, chains, and buzz saws like all proper Orlocks?

Should it have a cigar? It probably should have a cigar.

I wonder how long before all the 3D modelers run wild with the concept of a dognaught!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

i'm talking about how the armor doesn't look like it could articulate to match a dogs normal standing position without its head being pointed down.

Look at the range of motion between the shoulder, neck, and helmet.

You mean like how Space Marines....especially terminators, are anatomically correct with their shoulders over their heads and have complete range of motion?

GW seems to have at least one photographer who blows highlights - oddly they often seem to do the 3D rotation shots too. It's either in the shooting and/or editing phase. Odd considering that they've a full studio of their own with all the lighting gear and adjustments they should need; plus in the end its product photography; once you've got the method its repetition for the most part in something like a 3D rotation.

More importantly, if you read the article, this is someone from a blog building and painting the Stronghold - and, presumably, their photography rather than the usual GW people.

I want every part of it… but not for Necromunda.

Also, how does ZM terrain square with that thing having multiple floors? Like can dudes on it draw LoS over the top of ZM walls? I thought they were supposed to be tunnels/corridors and the lack of roof was a convention to make gameplay, y’know, possible.

You can make multiple floor tables with Zone Mortalis plastic terrain, now. These rules were made for the cardboard terrain for the first edition. They're not automatically applying for the new kits.

I already got 6 from the gang box, along with knives, and stubguns, which I got more in this box. The Orlock knife design is so generic It's a waste of money to make more of the same.

And you can't really build an orlock gang without the based gang box.

Since making these plastic kit was so expensive and they're on a budget, why not use it to make some weapon bits that we don't have in plastic yet? like that hand flamers and demo charge are new., Escher have a bunch of new Kunai knives/throwing knives that look quite unique and does not appear in their base gang kit.

Surely something like "Shotgun (the same one you got already got 6 from the base kit ) + pointing hand" is what I would consider to include in the " resin weapon set for flavors" instead

If they really want to spend money on the same weapon we already got, at least change the design or put more bling on it, maybe a shotgun with optional attachment bit.

Well, if they did that we wouldn't buy the resin ones.
