Cool, how'd you get an early copy?

Strange, my group and i have been having fun with N17 since it launched. Are we doing it wrong?

One thing is certain, you're not doing it right (nobody use the same exact rules in this edition).

I'm not making a statement on fun. Fun is subjective. Rules quality can be criticized objectively. Are there any other comparable game with worse rules quality than Necromunda?

I think Baxx just meant you can see the whole book in the YouTube reviews.

I’ll keep it in mind but i was mostly putting in doubt his claim of the book being available since it gets out this saturday.

Does anyone actually know how the Grease Monkey affects Wreckers (and jump boosters)? It's a mystery to me.

Let's just say it will be available in fan compiled rulebooks before saturday. And all the silly mistakes will be removed.

Yeah know when you start to talk about the last time you recommended/liked something as being 25odd years ago; you have to wonder why you're on the fan thread for the newer version of the game.

I mean heck I don't like the new Battlestar Galactica and yeah I'll talk about how I don't like it; but I'm not really going to sign up to the BSG forum and waste time airing that view over and over. Sometimes you've got to learn to let go and move on. Or heck start a "Classic Necromunda" thread and put your energy/time into that

Baxx's contributions chronicling all of the broken/janky rules in the new books are of vastly more value to me as a reader of this thread than a dozen people all saying how great new Necromunda and GW are because they're handing out free CoolAid, or whatever.

We can discuss even if we don't agree on everything . This is a news thread. The Book of Iron is brand new, about to be released. The fact is GW once again dropped quality control for another rushed and presumably short-lived release. People should know that before they decide to buy or not. Don't get me wrong, the game can be fun even when full of errors. I am not critizicing how people play or whether they enjoy the game. The problem is GW sell this for money, then I demand quality. The state of this book and the game as a whole is if you play with someone, you either have discuss and sort out a lot of issues beforehand, or tackle them while playing. I can sit down down with a stranger and play Blood Bowl without having to do that. Or Warhammer Underworlds. Or most other games. That's quality. I think Necromunda deserves the same.

They're not to me, as a reader of this thread, because more often than not? It's just the usual RAW v RAI nonsense.

It's also worth mentioning that I don't think anyone has been doing anything remotely like you're implying they are. The closest thing to that is in reference to the new plastic models and the existence of books period.

I dunno, the mistakes I saw so far in the reviews / videos are minor in the end. At least for the clearly obvious ones, like the Power Knife having the Backstop rule.

The vast majority of the book brings interesting new mechanism to the Orlock gang - not even talking about the background, which is to me one important part of these "House Of" books. I like how they go deeper on the history of the gangs, way WAY more than the classic Necromunda game.

Yeah, it's frustrating there are still copy / paste errors, but let's be honest here and say that's not what will destroy your pleasure of reading the book. They're not that many in the end.

The Bravado skill tree isn't looking that sexy, though.

They are to me, as a person who actually likes clear well written and proofread rules, which GW is evidently unwilling to sell me. And the whole reason "RAW v RAI nonsense" even exists is the "W" bit is often barely-legible gibberish and/or a complete misprint, and the "I" bit is either totally opaque to the end users or at the very least arguable. Ironically it's generally people like yourself, the ones who believe "RAW v RAI nonsense" isn't really a thing and there's only one rational interpretation of a disputed rule(theirs, inevitably) who keep those arguments going by being unable to accept anyone could come to a different conclusion.

As for the attitude issues, what else is underpinning the constant "Baxx should just shut up and go away" reactions then? If it were merely disinterest then people wouldn't be responding at all, there's no "cost" to a disinterested person beyond the one every person browsing every thread on every forum ever to exist faces of wasting 0.001 seconds to scroll on by and so no reason to take umbrage. The implication of the response is that criticisms aren't welcome regardless of how well founded, or that people should refrain from pointing out flaws too often regardless of the fact the frequency of the flaws is entirely down to GW.

I'd suggest that if you want Baxx to stop posting when they identify issues in Nucromunda, use the time that would have been spent fruitlessly berating them and write to GW exhorting them to hire some more proof readers.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Lets stick to N&R here please. If you wish to continue discussing the flaws of Necromunda please create a new thread for it, if you wish to continue discussing issues with other posters then just dont. If it is a major issue for you browsing the site then put them on ignore, if they break rules then hit the little yellow triangle and tell the mods about it.
Thanks.

I think that listing the errors in a brand new book certainly qualifies as news.

So people telling Baxx to shut up and go away should maybe take a bit of their own medicine and let him list them so we can see what's wrong with the new book.

Like Yod, I find his lists of errors quite helpful.

Yeah, I was shocked at how great Wreckers are and how abysmally pants the Arms Masters are.

Stubgun, shotgun, combat shotgun, inferno and executioner ammo, power knife, arc hammer.

Not much choice , but to be fair none of these new champs got much choice in the first place.

And the new orlock tree is kind meh, shotgun savant is the only useful one in all situation.

Orlock House favours are also very meh and underwhelming. Some Legendary Names are epic though, One shot is for example, give it any fighter only equipped with heavy weapon (and no suspensor).
For some reason Combat Shotgun is 60 for Arms Master but 55 for everyone else. On the opposite side, Arms Master only pay 25 for shotguns (everyone else pay 30) and 10 for knife (everyone else pay 15). I know house discounts is a thing, but fighter class discounts? And what's up with power knife not listed on champion's list? Leader and Ganger has it, but not champs? Not that it matter much, it's a simple rolli of 8+ after any battle to buy the power knife to anyone (rarity 9 and to search for it will grant minimum +1).

The heavy bolter gal is awesome, though I'd have prefered her with fewer bionics, and I can't see many people buying the autogunner just as a ganger if these are priced as the Escher Matriarchs.

That said,it wouldn't take a huge amount of effort to add the top half of a Marine combi weapon to the autogun and mod the muzzle to be a boltgun, although having nothing but high ranking women would be odd in any gang bar Escher.

You can choose what they are as there is no visual difference between champions, leaders, gangers and juves. These can't be juves because of basic and heavy weapons, but they can be ganger specialists because Orlock ganger specialists can have heavy weapons now.

Is it an autogun? My first thought, glancing at the picture in passing, was drum-fed combat shotgun.
