thanks

hehe, just looked at the pics again, forgot to paint the headlights on the new one easy to fix though.

I was about to dive into the land raider but since its not primed at all I'm gonna wait till I can get to the store again and try out that bone colored primer from Army Painter.

In the meantime I'm building all the side turrets for my Leviathan I'll be starting a new blog for that project when I'm ready to really begin building it up. Need another box or 2 of COD building panels though

Quick update.. started painting my land raider I used the Army Painter bone spray as the basecoat and it works great. gonna save me a lot of time. I kinda learned the hard way though it might have been easier to paint the sponsons if I painted them first then built them :( I hate when there's little spots I can't get a brush into, even if you're never gonna see it

Hopefully I'll have it all done this week

Necros, from this angle of your LR, those side ways LC looks really cool , almost like some flak gun / auto cannon.

Damn, and I thought that a White and Gold Chaos scheme would be unique...

Nice work. You put my conceptualizations to shame.

Thanks. I hope to have it all done around this weekend, then that will be the end of all my chaos stuff.. planning some more things to add later. I don't play my normal marines anymore so I will probably take my old 2 rhinos and 1 predator and repaint them to use for this army instead. If I do get back into marines I will probably have it be a drop pod army, but that's a long way off.

are you washing the landraider or using some other method to darken it up.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with windows.

yes I use a wash, not the GW ones since they came out after I started the army and I didn't want it to look different. I use dark flesh mixed with water and some acrylic matte medium. The matte medium helps it get into the cracks and stay there without pooling and looking bad. You can get that at any art supply store, it's cheap. Then after it's all washed I'll go back over it and drybrush it with bleached bone again

Finally finished my land raider and now my whole army is complete! It only took me 14 months...

I have some plans to add more stuff though. Since I don't play my normal marines anymore, and if I do go back to them I plan to make them a drop pod army, I won't be needing my 2 rhinos and predator so I will probably be repainting those models for this army. I'm also planning to add a generic greater daemon some day and probably that newish FW nurgle dreadnought. And I'm sure I'll add more marines here and there but that's not at the top of my list...

Anyway... here are the pics I will try and get a whole army shot soon...

I think its nicely done, just like your other tanks. I think Ive said it before, but Im a huge fan of your choice of color. Works well and looks awesome.

Got a full army shot yet?

Looks good, beaten up but fitting with the rest of the army.
It has nice balance between clean plates and detail.

The imperial eagles on the tracks hurt my eyes though, still probably too much trouble for the gain to remove them.

Thanks. I didn't know what to do about the treads... if I shaved the eagles off I wasn't confident enough that I'd be able to make a new pattern that matched the other treads and looked right, so I decided to just leave it as is. I didn't know they existed at the time but if I did I would have gotten the forge world land raider tracks, but what's done is done

I'll try and get a group shot today if I get a chance

Nice looking army. Really nice looking. Seeing them all together really emphasizes the distinctive look and atmosphere you've achieved here. Well done.

Thanks, it was nice setting them all up for that shot, it's so rare that I feel I've "finished" an army. It's been a while since I've played an army 100% painted, seems like there's always a few models I didn't get around to finishing yet mixed in.

Now that these guys are all done I'm gonna start my Leviathan That's another reason I cleared off my model table like that, gonna need a lot of space to build that thing. But that's another blog for another day...

"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

It good to see the group shot, it one great looking army. The scheme ties everything together really well, even though there are small variations in the units everything just merged together to form a uniform army.

This is a school book example how a finished army should look in my opinion.

Great job and thanks for sharing.

Typhus linked this guy a while back for a good demon, I might try and get it

It's from Helldorado, I'd have to get in imported too :( The only thing is it doesn't have wings and I dunno if wings would look right on it. But, if I don't get that guy I will probably wait for the new fantasy demon prince and paint him to look similar to my ghouls skin color
